"So there was indeed soone spying on us..."

"!"

The sudden appearance of the person took Caleb by surprise. In the process of turning around to see who snuck up on him, Caleb was t with an abrupt blow to the face.

"Ugh!"

The force of the punch sent Caleb hurtling towards the border and into the Growian territory. Before he could regain his composure mid-air, his attacker was already above him.

"You’re the one Luc warned about, aren’t you?" The person said, delivering another blow that sent Caleb down and into the mountains.

BOOM....!

Like a cannonball, Caleb crushed into the mountainside with a deafening boom, a few hundred ters away from the Luntherian fort.

The impact of his fall sent huge chunks of rocks into the air and down the mountain.

’The fuck was that...?!’ Caleb groaned in pain, unable to process what had just occurred — it all happened so fast, even for him.

Had it not been for the armour he was wearing, crushing into the mountain would have broken more than just a few bones. Fortunately for him, his regeneration kicked in, relieving him of the blinding pain.

Caleb didn’t even have ti to see the person who attacked him. This was the first ti he had encountered soone whose reaction speed he couldn’t follow.

After a bit of struggle, Caleb was able to crawl out of the mini crater he found himself. Looking up, he saw his attacker standing at the peak of the mountain.

[Na: Malrik Dune]

[Status: Knight Commander of the Growian Kingdom]

’Malrik, huh?’ Caleb stood up as he spat out a mouthful of blood. ’He’s definitely stronger than Luc.’

The man’s energy signature was the highest Caleb had seen after the demon generals. ’No.... He’s stronger than those demon generals.’

From what Caleb was seeing, the signatures he sensed coming from the fort earlier were suppressed, resulting in a situation where he misread their strength.

Glancing in the direction of the fort, Caleb picked up a few more auras that were heading towards his location — three to be exact.

Malrik was donned in a similar outfit to Luc and his goons. The man had neatly grood golden hair, piercing blue eyes, and a full beard, giving him a mature yet intense look.

Clearly, he was the one Luc answered to. The only difference in their outfit was the missing hood.

"You’re Caleb Zane, aren’t you?" Malrik asked, looking down at Caleb with cold eyes. "You’re the one causing us so much trouble. Seeing you now, I can finally understand."

As soon as his words ca to an end, the three others Caleb noticed arrived at the scene, locking him in an encirclent.

Caleb’s eyes darted around as his system identified each individual. ’They’re all strong...’ he thought, his gaze turning back to Malrik. ’But not as strong as him.’

"Luc was right..." Dave, one of the new guys, muttered. "This Caleb fella is impressive."

"Indeed..." another comnted.

"Do you still want to recruit him?" The third addition turned to Malrik and asked.

"Depends..." Malrik said with a cold smile, his blue eyes locked on Caleb.

’Hah...’’ Caleb sighed internally. ’This has been a long night, and it’s not even over. I should have taken so ti to rest first.’

While he was not tired, too many things had happened to him in the short ti. A little bit of rest wouldn’t hurt.

"I was hoping we could reach an amicable resolution," Caleb said, making his assailants raise their brows. "The Luntheria Kingdom has been through a lot. Why don’t you pack up and leave peacefully?

"We can all return to being good neighbours, and focus on what really matters: the demons."

"Haha," Malrik couldn’t help but chuckle at Caleb’s naive words. "You must be really sothing else to say sothing as cheesy as that."

"Yeah, well. It takes a special kind of person to desire peace." Caleb retorted with a slight grin. "Preaching peace doesn’t an I’m weak."

"Oh, I can tell." Malrik nodded and then looked at his companions. "Even surrounded, you don’t seem frightened at all. It does take a special person to preach nonsense.

"Unfortunately for you..." Malrik’s expression turned serious. "This is your last stop. Either you join us, or ..." he left the rest hanging.

’It always has to be a fight,’ Caleb sighed. ’No matter...’

Despite the blows he took from Malrik, Caleb was never worried. They could be matched in speed and power, but he had all his opponents beaten in other categories.

He had more mana than he could use, abilities and spells at his disposal, and most importantly, he had a system; a rather powerful one at that.

Just the [Bio-interface] skill would turn his opponents into a genetic ss, and there was nothing they could do to stop it — nothing.

Caleb was that overpowered.

"So there’s no chance of talking?" Caleb asked for his own sake. He really didn’t want to be fighting all the ti.

Of course, he had the option of just teleporting away. But that would make him lose aura, and he couldn’t have that.

"..."

Malrik and the others did not reply. They did, however, begin circulating their mana, creating a compounded and intense pressure that threatened to bury Caleb.

Unfortunately for the four n, Caleb wasn’t going to be outdone, as he too released the full force of his aura.

BOOM...!

The surroundings bore the consequences of the combined aura of all five beings, the overwhelming and tyrannical pressure shaking the mountain on which they stood.

The ground beneath Caleb’s feet bore the most burden as he single-handedly withstood the pressure of four powerful beings.

Malrik and his companions narrowed their eyes, impressed at seeing Caleb withstand the combined might of their presence.

"Prepare yourself!"

After what felt like eternity, Malrik and his n made their move, swiftly closing in on Caleb’s position. They moved so fast that it felt as though they had teleported.

"In your dreams...!"

Caleb bellowed as his eyes turned a deep, fiery red, his aura flaring even more wildly than before. Suddenly, his turquoise aura transford into a fiery red hue before a powerful pulse erupted from his body.

"Ugh...!"
