"Even so, you must know that you can’t make a blood contract with this guy right now. I can hold him here until you are strong enough to return for him. What do you think? If you sign a contract with him right now, you may not be able to handle him, and with how angry the griffin is, he could kill you."

Seeing that the griffin was chained, Elliot and Jenna finally smiled peacefully, and a huge weight was lifted from their shoulders. Moreover, Soac’s kind words allowed them both to be happy once again.

"That’s exactly what we wanted, Lord Soac. We still have things to do outside, but we’ll return for him when we’re strong enough."

"Good," Soac replied, then took out a scroll on which he wrote several things in human language and handed it to them.

"I can’t imprison soone talented and belonging to a Type 2 Race for long, because that would be getting in the way of Destiny. So sign this. The contract will require you to return to him within five years. I’ll have to release him if you don’t return within five years. Is that okay with you?"

Both were surprised by this arrangent, but neither found it unusual after thinking about it for a few seconds. These long-lived races tend to have Destiny always in their sights. Perhaps the Nurotaurs were like that, too.

So, after reading it and confirming that this was indeed the case, they both signed it without saying another word, and Elliot put it in his inventory to make sure he would co back soon.

How could they not co? They had earned this Griffin with sweat, effort, tears, and blood. Coming was the first thing they wanted to do!

If they could take it with them, they undoubtedly would have.

But they couldn’t, and that was the reality, so they would return for it in the future.

Soac smiled. "If that’s the case, then you may go. Since I’m not giving you a prize, take these two things with you." He threw them "two things," but there were actually three.

Two weapons, swords to be exact, and a key.

"It’s the key to the Sarcophagus. Whenever you want to co, just go to Mushroom Mountain and use the key, and a door will open for you, allowing you to enter."

Finishing his words, he opened a staircase that led to the surface, knowing that the two of them didn’t want to stay here much longer, perhaps out of fear.

"If you leave here, just keep walking straight ahead and eventually, as the days pass, you will arrive safely at the streets that lead to the Coastal Cities. I don’t know which city you belong to, but there you will be able to find your way," said Soac.

"Thank you very much, Lord Soac. Then we will do so." Elliot replied hastily. He didn’t even look at the weapon he had given them because he felt unsafe. The sa was true for Jenna.

They both turned around and bowed in respect. Although they could see that the Nurotaur seed to have more questions for them, they had no intention of staying. The danger he presented was deadly.

So they walked away as quickly as they could.

The Nurotaur sighed, watching them leave.

"They’re leaving too quickly. I guess they ca too early for their strength; fear consus them."

He then turned to look at the little griffin beside him and frowned. "Maybe it’s your fault, isn’t it? I’ll play with you in my true form since you ran them off so quickly because of your foolishness. The contract stipulates that I have to keep you here for five years, but how I do that is entirely up to and not them." He smiled sinisterly, which was even more terrifying with his strangely human and frightening face.

The griffin, already resigned to his fate since these guys even had a contract with this Nurotaur, suddenly trembled and tried to move backward out of fear.

Unfortunately, he couldn’t do it.

His body was trapped between the chains, and soon he would witness how terrifying a Nurotaur can be when it gets angry and wants to play.

---

As the days passed, Elliot and Jenna, who could finally breathe after leaving that Ruin, hunted many beasts, one after another, while following the path indicated by the Nurotaur.

Although they had only spent a few hours inside the Ruin, it felt like many days had passed. Fortunately, after leaving, they had a path in mind, and it was the sa one Elliot’s father had once told him, so they were sure they were heading in the right direction.

Ultimately, they couldn’t discover much about the Ruin, but they didn’t care. For now, they didn’t want to know anything about it.

However, that Nurotaur really valued them highly, which was demonstrated by the fact that they didn’t die and the swords he had given them.

They were made of Adamantium and had an attack power of 150 and acquired magical attributes that activated under certain conditions. Both swords were different.

Elliot’s had the weaker magical attribute, but greater range:

| Small Lightning: When fighting beasts, you have a stunning effect once every three attacks on the target. These attacks accumulate until you complete a total of 12, at which point you can launch a stunning lightning bolt from a distance, which will travel 20 ters in one second and strike the first target it encounters, stunning it.

| If you fight any Type 1 or Type 2 Races, the stunning effect will disappear, but you will need 15 consecutive attacks for the lightning attack to co out.

During his short trip, Elliot tested it successfully more than once and had only one word for it: amazing.

It is very rare to see weapons with these kinds of attributes, where you can literally cast spells every so often.

If he had to find a problem, it would be that he could not direct that magic wherever he wanted. It cos out automatically once the required number of attacks is reached and seeks its target. Now, this is still controllable if you aim at the place you want at the end of the attack round, but it is more complicated.

However, Jenna’s weapon attribute is perfect for her. From the beginning, she was looking for a weapon that could be her support weapon and was willing to spend tens of millions of dollars to buy it.

This ti, she was given the perfect weapon for that purpose, one that she will likely use for a long ti.
