"Humans!" His terrifying voice reached both of their ears, making them shudder slightly.
But they quickly got on guard, staring at him intently.
’Shit, what bad luck to find this bastard here.’ Elliot tried to look around for anything that could help them dodge this guy.
He even thought about finding a way to hurt him so they could escape, just like they did with the octopus, but they didn’t have ti.
The Griffin was fuming and jumped towards them. "Damn you, co and die and beco my food!" Roared his huge eagle beak.
He was so fast that neither of them could react. This was the speed of a true Rank A.
He didn’t have Rank A power from accumulated strength like the Octopus did. He had genuine Rank A power!
It was completely beyond their current abilities, so they couldn’t stop it.
Both had to force themselves to raise their defenses to the limit, knowing that this was just child’s play.
Those huge eagle claws soon ca down on them, ready to tear them apart, but then a strange, hairy hand appeared between them.
The hand gripped the two eagle claws firmly, as if it were a small child’s ga, and looked at the Griffin.
"Little Griffin, did you ask my permission to kill them?" he asked.
From the mont that hand grabbed his claws, the Griffin stared at him in shock, his body trembling.
Suddenly, he was released and fell backward, rolling across the ground.
When he got up, he couldn’t help but take four steps back.
"...Nurotaur." He muttered, incredulous. But then he looked at the two humans again and then back at the Nurotauro.
"You... Why are you protecting them? They’re just little humans I’ve been chasing for a long ti. They should be my food."
The Nurotaur shrugged. "I’m not protecting them, they’re just the first ones to challenge my little gas in the last 400 years, and so I must give them the chance to challenge the final ga."
"Gas? You..."
"Do you have anything else to say? If you want to challenge it too, I’m afraid you won’t be able to by conventional ans. The rules here specify that only those capable of wielding weapons can challenge the Final Test. Although I can make an exception for you since you passed the previous test, you will have to challenge in my true form." The Nurotaur replied.
His final words made the Griffin tremble and shake his head several tis.
"No, no. Lord, I am not here to challenge you or your creation. I am not like those detestable humans who only seek treasure." Declared the Griffin, instinctively looking at Elliot and Jenna.
"I only ca in to look for those two little ones, since they got away from earlier. May I ask you to grant them to when the Final Ga is over? I won’t bother you then." His extrely respectful manner of speaking towards this person left both Elliot and Jenna in deep shock.
They didn’t even know what to think about it.
How strong was the Nurotaur? Even that seed insulting. For a proud Griffin with lion’s blood in his veins to be like this ant he was more than just strong!
The question was...
Did they have to play a Final Trial against him? Or against sothing he had created?
God... they barely managed to escape the previous octopus with great difficulty and were on the brink of death until the very end. How could they possibly defeat him?
But now... The Griffin asked the Nurotaur to hand them over.
Among the strong, they respected each other; that was the law of this world.
Therefore... the Nurotauro’s response seed obvious.
But he shrugged. "If they defeat , there’s no way I can give them to you. But if they don’t, I’ll consider it if they’re useless to ." He replied and stopped looking at the griffin to look at the humans.
"The rules in my Final Test are simple, only for my amusent and understanding. You two will fight . I will not seek to kill you, but I will seek to touch you, and I will limit my power, but not my speed. If I touch you both three non-consecutive tis, I win. If you touch once, you win. I will allow you to use basic weapons of any kind for your strategies, but when you touch , you must do so with sothing that is currently on your bodies or with your actual bodies."
"The rules are simple, right? If you beat , you can ask for anything in this room. Any of these weapons will be yours; even if you want several, you can take them. In addition, I will teach you anything you ask , as long as it is within this place or I have information about it. Obviously, things like being your slave or anything like that are completely out of the question, so don’t even think about it."
"If I beat you... Well, you’ll find out then."
Elliot and Jenna felt a sudden headache that ca from nothing more than how absurd that sounded.
But seeing the strength of that Nurotaur, the Griffin off to the side, and the fact that they were locked in... they quickly realized they weren’t in a place where they could negotiate the rules.
They looked at each other, and Jenna nodded, allowing Elliot to speak.
"I don’t think we can say anything, is there?" He replied, smiling. "We accept. But we don’t want any of these weapons. We have sothing else to ask you for if we win."
"Oh, interesting. What do you want if you win? I’ll prepare it for you if I have it."
Elliot smiled. ’It’s amazing that he even thinks he could lose. Tsk, he seems like a nice guy and isn’t arrogant despite his great strength.’
Despite his pleasing personality, the reality was that he would probably kill them. But at least he would take a gamble this ti. If they won, they would win big. If they lost... well, they would lose everything.
"We only want one thing. If we win, you must hand over that griffin to us as a pet with a blood contract signed. We can swear that we won’t kill him once the contract is signed, but that’s what we want." Elliot responded firmly, leaving the Griffin and the Nurotaur in shock.
The griffin in the background shouted, "Bastard, do you think I’m soone you can ride like a horse?! Don’t even dream of it!" He was so angry at their request that he almost jumped forward to slit his throat imdiately.
