Chapter 804: 790 Catastrophic Final Battle (9)
The overwhelming firepower, high morale, and more refined and flexible tactics saw the opposite of a massive swarm overwhelming the Iridium Star people on the battlefield. The Iridium Star Fleet, ford in formations and following the orders of the two commanders, continuously attacked the enemy’s depth and details. The Insectoids rushed in swarms but were surrounded and attacked on multiple fronts by the Iridium Star Fleet, which had jumped into their midst. Each wave of assault was dissolved. When the Insectoids in the rear tried to crush the Iridium Star Fleet that had jumped in, the Iridium Star people would again jump into the next battle zone, continuing their attack with different tactics.
Watching the battlefield scene, Bai Zhongqi couldn’t help but develop a newfound respect for the performance of the Unified Empire Army.
“The Unified Empire Army currently has a comprehensive advantage in average enemy engagent efficiency, surpassing the Imperial Guard Fleet by 0.4 percentage points,” Zero remarked, also amazed at the situation.
Before the war, few people had faith in the true combat strength of the Unified Empire Army, a force cobbled together from hundreds or even thousands of civilizations, having only undergone several months of training. Although they were equipped with new warships and had commanders from Iridium Star, it was generally believed they were a step behind the Iridium Star Army.
“It’s Lv Zhinian’s tactical programming,” Bai Zhongqi revealed the hidden truth in one sentence.
When it ca to warship technology, there wasn’t much difference among the ships; the only variable was Lv Zhinian. Who wasn’t even an officer from the Unified Empire Army, he brought them several sets of his programd tactics and continually adjusted their use as the battle progressed.
Evading strengths while attacking weaknesses, pulling enemy lines, restraining enemy movents, dividing and encircling. These tactics are essentially very traditional, but Lv Zhinian’s strength lies in how his programd tactical models perfectly shed with the high-tech weapons of the Unified Empire Army warships, fully exploiting their jumping, multi-layered firepower, and defensive capabilities.
This made Bai Zhongqi both admire his talent and remain highly cautious.
“Lv Zhinian seems to know a bit too much about our warships’ conditions,” Bai Zhongqi suddenly noted.
Zero hesitated, “Why do you say that?”
“He’s only been with the Unified Empire Army for a few weeks, yet he provided us with these complex fleet tactical programs. I can’t believe he completed them in just a few weeks.”
Zero was well aware of the imnse value these tactical programs brought to the Unified Empire Army by Lv Zhinian. The Iridium Star United Empire had actually progressed a bit too quickly in technology, with Bai Zhongqi having elevated Iridium Star from a level 27 civilization directly to beyond a level 30 civilization. However, the military’s application of various weapons and tactics hadn’t progressed as far, and Lv Zhinian’s appearance filled a large part of this gap for the Iridium Star people.
Even if Lv Zhinian left in the future, these battle programs could be continuously simulated and improved by artificial intelligence, making the Iridium Star military even more formidable.
Even with suspicions about Lv Zhinian, Bai Zhongqi wouldn’t take any action against him. anwhile, Lv Zhinian, leading the Unified Empire Army, had already encountered an Insectoid Duke.
The massive, planet-like Insectoid Duke, Canxing, with its enormous, tooth-filled maw, could chew through planets. At this mont, Canxing was frantically twisting its body, making moves, trying to devour the Iridium Star folks’ warships piece by piece.
“This is the most foolish behavior,” Lv Zhinian said blandly.
He borrowed a few unmanned warships from Bai Zhongqi and flew straight beside Canxing, who, indiscriminately, opened its mouth and swallowed those unmanned warships whole.
Bai Zhongqi wasn’t sure what Lv Zhinian intended, but those unmanned warships were coated with primordial matter, which he imdiately manipulated to accelerate the assimilation of Canxing’s matter.
“What’s happening?!” Canxing, having devoured several Iridium Star ships, was still feeling triumphant but soon found itself with an upset stomach.
“No—sothing is corroding from the inside!” Canxing scread in terror, its body twisting ever more frantically and even jumping randomly. It crashed into several Iridium Star warships and even knocked so Insectoids flying.
Lv Zhinian didn’t pause for a mont, very swiftly capturing the position of the swarm’s most important Duke, Youyuan.
“Incandescence Cannon, all units prepare.”
The Iridium Star United Empire’s most proud heavy ship cannon, the white Incandescence cannon fired fiercely; even the sturdy Insectoids couldn’t withstand the beam, and all the Insectoids along its path were vaporized.
Ailan Dong and Lüzhi quickly leapt with Youyuan.
“Knew you’d be here.” Lv Zhinian smiled lightly, witnessing them jump together with Ailan Dong and others, also trodding alongside them was a singularity torpedo launched by an Iridium Star warship.
Ailan Dong’s face changed: “Damn it!”
The singularity exploded instantly, and a black hole expanded at an astonishing speed. Ailan Dong imdiately retreated with Youyuan, only to be t again with Incandescence cannon fire from the Iridium Star warship.
Wielding swords and spears, the Valkyries charged forward, facing them were a few remaining Insectoid Dukes, but the Valkyrie leader Qi Wen only snorted coldly, her sword hand flashing like lightning, tearing open a spatial rift, slicing an unprepared Insectoid Duke in two with one stroke.
“To the rescue!” Ailan Dong roared, a mass of Insectoids began gathering here, desperately trying to save Youyuan and the Empress inside, ignoring the artillery shots from the Iridium Star Fleet.
Bai Zhongqi smiled because he knew he had won.
The Valkyries erupted in a burst of white light, and using the unique abilities of several hundred Valkyries, they opened a small spatial seal. They directly trapped Youyuan and others within this small spatial seal. Despite the frenzied swarm crashing in, they only crashed into the outer spatial rift of the seal, slipping through in an instant, unable to crawl out again.
Ailan Dong’s expression was severe, looking at the spatial seal spanning several tens of kiloters around him, containing fewer than three thousand Insectoids but no fewer than one hundred thousand Valkyries from Iridium Star facing them. More intimidating were the few resplendently nacing chas.
Wang Dong, forrly a Sergeant Major, now a Knight of Destiny, chuckled maliciously: “Catching a fly in a paper cup.”
The leading Knight, Zang Xingyan, also smiled, “Then let’s swat the fly.”
The swords and spears in the Valkyries’ hands shimred brilliantly, producing a blinding light even without direct illumination.
The Knights’ Divine cha launched beam cannons, and the Ship-Slicing Saber cleaved massive Insectoids, initiating the final charge against the Insectoids.
This was Bai Zhongqi’s true strategy from the beginning, to progressively divide the Insectoids through layers of spatial seals, ultimately creating an opportunity for the Valkyries and Knights of Destiny to directly assault the Insectoid Dukes and the Empress.
Ailan Dong swung his arms, constantly parrying the Valkyries’ attacks. He knew he couldn’t hold out much longer, and now he only hoped that the Empress would co out and assist them.
However, the Empress remained inside Youyuan, without any movent.
