At this mont, the Su Family Village appeared tranquil and a group of n were engaged in the bustling activity of hauling fish ashore by the seaside, with Su Dapao among them.
Despite his nurous flaws— his braggadocious nature, unkempt appearance, and lack of charm— when it ca to work, Su Dapao exhibited great diligence.
Just at that mont, the dark shadow flickered, and Su Dapao froze in place as if petrified. His once lively eyes turned lifeless, and his gaze beca vacant. A burly man standing next to him called out, “Dapao, Dapao, what are you standing there for? Co lend a hand!”
Su Dapao’s eyes twitched, and a trace of darkness returned to his eyes, but he ignored the pleas of the man beside him. He raised his gaze to et Su Jing, who soared on the back of the Golden Eagle in the sky. With narrowed eyes, Su Dapao turned and walked away without saying a word.
“Dapao, Dapao, where are you going? What’s gotten into you all of a sudden?” The bewildered man reached out and grabbed Su Dapao, attempting to halt his departure.
Casually waving his hand in the air, Su Dapao released a black mist that swiftly entered the man’s body. The man trembled, instantly freezing in place, and was put under the control of the dark shadow’s influence. Su Dapao paid no further attention to the man and continued on his way.
As Su Jing and the Golden Eagle scoured the surroundings from their elevated position, their search yielded no sign of the dark shadow.
Su Jing couldn’t help but feel a rising sense of urgency in his heart. “Where could it be? Has the opponent managed to escape to a considerable distance already?” Su Jing pondered aloud, his eyes scanning the visible area with fervor.
The Golden Eagle, with its keen eyesight honed by countless hunts, aided in the search. Little Jin’s vision surpassed that of an ordinary Golden Eagle due to the various enhancents it now possessed.
It possessed an extraordinary surveillance range of several kiloters, if not more. Yet, even with their combined efforts, they remained unable to locate the elusive dark shadow.
“No, we cannot allow that dark shadow to roam freely outside; otherwise, the entire Earth will be in peril,” Su Jing exclaid, his anxiety growing by the second.
He swiftly retrieved the Angel Badge, knowing it held the power to combat such malevolent entities. Having studied its properties before, Su Jing understood that the Angel Badge could be utilized in two distinct ways.
The first function was to protect the wearer with its Holy Light, naturally emanating when Su Jing wore the badge. In this state, the radiant Holy Light enveloped his body, acting as a barrier against the intrusion of evil.
The second function involved unleashing the Holy Light outward, creating a wide expanse of purification. While it provided relatively weaker self-protection, it possessed the ability to dispel a vast area of malevolence and absorb a wide range of spiritual forces.
However, this thod required the support of Su Jing’s own spiritual energy and could lead to exhaustion if utilized for extended periods. Regardless of the chosen approach, the Angel Badge stood as a bane to all forms of evil.
Uncertain of the Holy Light’s maximum range when radiating outward from the badge, Su Jing infused it with his spiritual energy, causing the Holy Light to expand rapidly.
…
The blinding Holy Light emitted from the Angel Badge expanded rapidly, its brilliance enveloping the entire Su Family Village. The villagers stood in awe as they witnessed the spectacle unfolding before them.
Among them, Su Dapao, known for his great strength, sensed sothing unusual and swiftly turned around. His face imdiately drained of color as he beheld the overwhelming radiance being emitted.
Reacting swiftly, Su Dapao propelled himself forward, accelerating at a speed that surpassed even that of a champion sprinter.
His movents resembled a cheetah in full stride, leaving the onlookers dumbfounded. They marveled at his sudden burst of speed, unable to comprehend how he could run so swiftly.
However, despite his impressive velocity, Su Dapao could not match the expansion of the Holy Light. The dark shadow that controlled him continued to accelerate, causing his legs to crack audibly and his muscles to convulse in agony.
“Such a weak body,” The dark shadow cursed, his voice dripping with contempt. Suddenly, like a malevolent bolt of black lightning, he erged from Su Dapao’s body and shot into the distance.
He had been concealed within Su Dapao, intending to escape unnoticed, but his plan was now thwarted.
“There he is!” Su Jing and the Golden Eagle imdiately caught sight of the dark shadow as it materialized. Acting swiftly, Su Jing commanded the Golden Eagle to pursue the fleeing entity, while the Holy Light continued its rapid expansion.
“Damn you, humans! How dare you wield a powerful artifact and drive to this desolate farmland! Once I heal and reach my peak strength, I shall ensure you suffer unimaginable tornt!” The dark shadow raged as he violently coughed.
He had been recuperating in a place steeped in darkness and had not fully recovered when he encountered the Holy Light emitted by the Angel Badge, exacerbating his already serious injuries.
If he were to activate his mana and hasten his escape now, it would further worsen his condition and deplete his vital energy. This only deepened his burning hatred for Su Jing.
Whoosh!
In a swift motion, the dark shadow transford into a billowing black mist, disappearing from sight. Within monts, he reappeared several thousand ters away, yet his coughing grew more intense.
“Accelerate!” Su Jing swiftly produced a Long Distance Talisman and affixed it to the Golden Eagle. In response, the Golden Eagle surged forward, vanishing in an instant. However, the dark shadow proved even faster than the Golden Eagle, continuously changing directions to elude Su Jing.
Darting into the village and through the dense woods, he vanished multiple tis, nearly eluding Su Jing completely. Moreover, under the extre speed of Golden Eagle’s flight, maintaining such velocity for an extended period beca untenable.
The distance between them grew, and it seed that Su Jing would lose sight of the shadow at any mont.
“Little Jin, thank you for your efforts. Return and guard the house,” Su Jing declared, taking out the Iron Man Armor from his storage bag and swiftly donning it.
Utilizing this armor might expose him and potentially subject him to pressure and suspicion from China, as it had previously been involved in sensitive incidents and attacked various US military bases.
However, the dire circumstances left Su Jing with no room for such considerations. Allowing the dark shadow to escape would pose a crisis not only in terms of pressure but also as a threat to the entire Earth.
Though the Iron Man Armor improved Su Jing’s speed, he remained slower than the dark shadow, especially considering the shadow’s ability to disappear and reappear at will.
