The fate weaver did what her master asked her to do, so the spirit of the handler dissipated silently as if it was natural.
No one noticed anything out of the ordinary because the curse had been cast before, not now. It was just taking effect now, so the onlookers thought that the spirit had been exhausted.
This was a sha to the gang leaders, but it wasn't too much of a loss because they had already found enough evidence to convict Cedric.
The gangs and their leaders went together as one to storm the manor of the Edwin family. They ca for blood and vengeance and weren't willing to leave without having it.
Unfortunately for them, they ca too late. Apparently, Cedric had escaped yesterday when the matter of the handler was exposed.
Sir Kriss was the one who ca out to tell them that. He also said that he was disappointed with Cedric's behavior, which was why he decided to publicly disown his son.
He cut himself in front of everyone and shed his blood onto the ground as he swore, "From today onwards, Cedric ceases to be my son and ceases to be of my blood. He is a wanted criminal and will be killed for his cri if apprehended."
The gangs weren't satisfied with this, but there was nothing they could do about it. They couldn't attack Sir Kriss for the sin of his son. They could only accept that they were free to kill Cedric if they saw him.
Sir Kriss's announcent appeased the gangs sowhat because it didn't matter if what he said was true; they now had the right to kill Cedric on sight for his cris after being disowned publicly.
So Cedric had better have escaped for his life, even if his father was lying. This and the fact that Sir Kriss was willing to pay compensation to the families of the deceased made the crowd of angry people disperse.
After everyone left, Sir Kriss returned to his house with a cold face. He went straight to his study, where he could think in peace.
Along the way to his study, he thought to himself, "Well done."
"You might be responsible for the death of my daughter, but you're definitely responsible for the public death of my son."
The matter of him disowning his son is a very serious matter. He is the person with the highest authority in the Edwin family and the person currently in control of the Ancestral Power divine ability.
So he is in control of the Edwin lineage and has the final say in all matters related to the bloodline. By publicly disowning his son, he has truly severed Cedric's link to the lineage.
So Cedric is now an outsider to the lineage. He can never inherit anything from the Edwin lineage.
Cedric can't use the power from the lineage as a foundation for his rank 1 Noble Blood divine ability, and even if Cedric becos a rank 6 noble in the future, he will have to start another ancestral power.
All in all, Cedric might actually be dead to him. So Sir Kriss is very angry about it.
He is angry with the Golden Hamr gang for setting up his son. He is very angry with them, but he hasn't let the anger blind him to reason.
After thinking about it for a while, he can admit that his son also had a part to play in this outco and should bear so of the bla, if not most of the bla.
It was his son who started the sche and wanted to use it against soone else. All that the Golden Hamr gang did was use the weapon he had bought and polished for sothing else.
The Golden Hamr gang had turned the weapon that was supposed to stab them onto their neighbor and put the whole bla on his stupid son. To be honest, he shouldn't bla them for what they did.
If he were a bystander, he would be impressed with what the Golden Hamr gang did and would even applaud them. But he is not a bystander in the matter.
He is a father who just lost his son and has to do sothing as embarrassing as disowning his son in public in order to appease the people who wanted to kill his son.
He had to do what he did because the other families refused to support him and protect Cedric. He told them what happened so they knew the truth of the matter and knew that Cedric's sche was being used against him, but they still refused to support Cedric.
They refused to protect Cedric because he was a loser to them, and the ga was set up to eliminate foolish people like him. The ga was set up so that they wouldn't waste their ti and resources supporting foolish people like Cedric, so they told Sir Kriss to give him up.
As outsiders, they were even able to appreciate the Golden Hamr gang's sche. But he couldn't do that. He had to be the one to disown his son in front of everyone.
The only thing that ca out of this matter from them was that all of the noble families had decided to explicitly ban secret attacks, infiltrations, and assassinations. They even promised to crack down on any gang that employs these sches by punishing the cri with death.
The first target for reproach will be the gang leader of the Five Gears gang. This was the machinist.
He was the one who sent two assassins to kill the leaders of the Golden Hamr gang. He even exposed the fact that he did so publicly, so he couldn't deny the offense.
They don't plan to kill him for the offense. They don't want to go that far. But the noble families will ban him from the ga forever, and he will be forced to step down as leader of his gang imdiately.
