The person who will be supported by the whole family to beco a rank 4 noble will have to show wisdom, connections, potential, and promise to prove that they deserve the support.
The way to prove that they deserve the support is to support a gang in the outer city and help that gang gain the largest territory in the outer city. This is what the ga is in essence.
Unfortunately, the ga has beco twisted after many generations. It has stopped being fair, and the outco of the ga has beco easily influenced.
Many people have found and used loopholes to get their way in the competition. The best thod they found is to pressure each other directly.
Instead of the descendants controlling and supporting gangs to fight for territory, the descendants use their financial and political influence to attack each other.
They will attack each other’s businesses and cut off the sources of wealth of their competitors in order to force their competitors to cave in and give up on the competition.
To be honest, this thod has already worked on Celine. She didn’t want Golden Hamr to gain more territory because she had already given up.
She didn’t give up because she had been pressured. She gave up because she had been pressured, and she decided that it was worth it to resist the pressure.
There was just too little chance of her winning at the end of the day. And she didn’t have the necessary network needed to resist the pressure that every competitor will pile on her if she starts behaving like she wants to win.
So rather than offend so many people and the future winner of this round of the competition, she decided that it was a much better use of her ti to give up and focus on business. But then Golden Hamr gave her a surprise.
She said to herself, "His actions cannot be tolerated. I have to at least berate him and give him a talking to."
She said that and also left the dining room. Then she left the house and took a carriage that led her directly to Golden Hamr.
If it were in the past when Golden Hamr was just rank 3, she would have done more than berate him. She would have punished him by cutting off his financial resources.
But that can’t happen now because Golden Hamr is an epic being and because the Golden Hamr gang has gained a lot of territory, which will supplent their financial power.
The fact that the Golden Hamr gang has gained two rich territories and has beco financially buoyant shouldn’t matter. In fact, it wouldn’t have mattered in the past when the competition was restricted to rank 3 godclads and below.
In that period of ti, gang leaders were the subordinates of nobles. But one descendant after the other began recruiting epic beings as gang leaders, or so epic beings ca forward to work together with the nobles in the competition.
No one stopped this because the people powerful enough to have epic beings beco their gang leaders were powerful enough to lobby their way into the family.
Everyone in the family said that it was comndable that a rank 3 noble could command an epic being. They said that this showed their potential and connections and therefore isn’t breaking the rules about the interference of powerful beings in the ga.
Besides, having powerful epic beings protecting the outer city ant that the outer city would be safer. So from then on, it beca common for gang leaders to be epic beings.
All of these ant that gang leaders stopped being the subordinates of nobles and instead beca partners. So she couldn’t punish Golden Hamr anyhow anymore.
She thought to herself as she sat in the carriage, "I shouldn’t say sothing to push him too far. I need him to help resist this pressure after all."
The more she thought about her problem, the more frustrated she beca.
She sighed and said, "It is as if I’ve gotten up on a wild bull and can’t co down."
That’s how she feels because even though she is very angry with Golden Hamr, she can’t afford to alienate an epic being that supports her. Especially when she is currently surrounded by wolves.
It doesn’t matter that the wolves were attracted by the epic being. What matters now is that the epic being helps her survive the attack of the wolves.
At the very least, she can’t lose her business and the gang too. Now that she has offended the other competitors, the die has been cast, and she can’t go back anymore.
Her competitors will take her business, which ans that she has to stick to the Golden Hamr gang and support it. So she has to be careful with what she says to him.
On her way to et Golden Hamr, she thought long and hard about what to say to him. She had a long internal debate about how far she would go in berating him.
Unfortunately, she couldn’t say any of these because as soon as she got close to the base of the Golden Hamr gang, she beca close enough to Legion and was attacked imdiately.
The attack was ntal and invisible. The first attack didn’t work because there was a ntal shield in her mind, and she was wearing a divine artifact of the pathway of the telepath.
These two things are a staple for nobles in Reinfield City. Nobles here work together with a lot of telepaths, so they know how terrifying they are. So every noble has at least a ntal shield constructed by an epic telepath using ntal armant.
This ntal shield would have stopped a rank 3 telepath. But it couldn’t stop a rank 4 telepath hell-bent on having their way with the mind of a noble.
Celine realized that she was attacked when her ntal shield began shaking. She wanted to escape, so she told her attendants to turn the carriage around. But they didn’t listen to her.
