As Marcus rushed to the edge of the half-split apartnt complex, Marcus was surprised at what he saw but he cald down thereafter.
There he was, the guy who was Marcus' next neighbor, he was standing on the terrace with only shorts and had his right hand gripping close together the tip of the two large lobes of the Venus flytrap while the other lobes were already ripped off like he was trying to show off his powers, his girlfriend stood beside him in red lingeries.
Marcus made a displeased face,
"Aren't they ashad?"
He muttered.
They were trying to make out when the Venus flytrap bit the half part of the apartnt complex along with their room.
The giant Venus flytrap was flapping its roots and body violently but it seed the grip of the guy was more powerful, he looked up at Marcus and grinned like so superhero.
"Yo!, It seed the fucking radiation blessed us with powers instead," he said and with one swift movent, he twisted the lobes of the plant which made it stop jerking in an instance, it seed it was dead, and the guy threw it to one side while his girlfriend rushed to hug him.
"Cringe!! Superhero saving the day when he was making out, that would be huge news!"
Marcus yelled out unconsciously at him.
It appeared everything was starting to get under control everywhere else as so n also took care of the mutant beasts around the neighborhood.
What Marcus saw almost made him jealous and made his jaw drop, how they were fighting, the trendous power the n wield.
Marcus rembered that they called them the awakened on the TV earlier while the animals who were mutated were called mutant beasts.
Although almost all the houses were caught up in the fight like where he lived, so were reduced to rubble and so were destroyed partially, in short, the neighborhood has turned into a desolate place.
Marcus got down from the building which was split in half, he thanked God it wasn't the stairs part that was bitten off.
And he also wondered how the guy and his girlfriend survived the lobes of that plant, after all, it was the sa lobes that bit off the half part of the building.
"Oh..." Marcus ca to a realization as he hobbled down the stairs quickly.
"Don't tell they both possessed superhuman strength" he said with gritted teeth.
After he reached the ground level, Marcus saw a horde of people coming from afar.
Judging from what they were carrying which were huge caras that so of them placed on their shoulders, no doubt, they were reporters, and the thing was that, they were stopping by one rubble of house to another while interviewing so n who fought off the mutant beasts.
So mutant beasts lay down as so part of their body was broken with a pure fist and raw brute strength but sothing was different which Marcus noticed, these weren't all the mutant beasts he had seen when it began, where were the others, like they were much than these...
Marcus mused although he shifted the thought to the back of my mind.
The n looked arrogant like so Superstar full of himself as they were interviewed.
Tsk!
Marcus spat angrily, he glanced at his neighbor, the guy stood there while gazing at the horde of people with caras, it seed he was waiting for his turn, his turn to shine in front of caras.
Marcus composed himself at the sudden turn of situation, for now, he had to admit humanity has prevailed and at the sa ti evolved.
Marcus wore a black hoodie and matching trousers, he put on the cap and faced the building which was now half of its original form, it was as if the mutant plant asured the portion as it bit just half of it.
"I can't remain a Cannon fodder forever"
he muttered.
Marcus readied my fist, ready to dilapidate the remaining standing part, ready to test his powers, it wouldn't hurt to collapse the remaining part after all the apartnt complex wasn't habitable anymore.
Coiling his right arm and jerking his elbow backward, with one motion, Marcus thrust the fist at the side of the building, the impact made a sound imdiately...
Marcus looked up, and nothing happened.
"Eh!"
"Why?"
Marcus knew he was exposed to radiation too.
Marcus was starting to get teary-eyed as he glanced up at the clear blue sky as if there should be another supernova.
He heaved an exasperated sigh.
"Stop being a kid"
Marcus said to himself and glanced down back.
After all, it wasn't only him that didn't awaken power, including humans and animals, there were still so dogs whimpering around.
Although Marcus could feel the inside of him boiling, In fact, he started wishing that it should have ended up in a distorted mutation instead of awakening power.
But he cald himself down, Marcus knew it was pathetic of him, after all, he wasn't the only one who didn't awaken power.
After a while the reporters reached the front of the apartnt complex, Marcus neighbor was smiling while raising his hand and pointing at the sa ti to the lump of Mutant plant he killed.
"Young man, it seed you are also an awakened"
"How do you feel to be awakened"
Many of them started rushing the guy with questions while flashes of caras captured him and his girlfriend, they didn't even look ashad in what they wore.
Marcus could only gaze blankly at them.
"I feel so great, I felt energy brimming inside and I felt untouchable at the sa ti," he said and laughed out loud dramatically.
"So are you the only one awakened" one asked as the flashes of the caras continued, filling the air with the noise.
"I and my babe," he said while the lady hugged him tightly.
"Wow! We are so excited, well, everything has been under control"
"Take this form, fill it out if you wish to join the awakened league the governnt has created in order to safeguard our country" one extended a white paper to the guy.
"There may be Mutant beasts coming at any mont, we would appreciate it if you join"
He collected it and gazed at it for a mont and nodded.
"No problem, rejoice!! For I" he made a dramatic bow at the reporters "Lei Chen will serve this beautiful" he used his right hand to swipe up his shoulder-length blond hair, "Country" Then he said the last word syllabically while his stupid girlfriend giggled.
