Fei Yuan’s breakthrough had failed. Instead, he developed a Heart Demon, and his cultivation realm plumted.
Yet, at his mont of greatest agony and despair, his realm suddenly soared back to its peak. He even smoothly broke through the final barrier of the Divine Venerable Realm!
Far away in the Demon Realm, Quan Jin also broke through to the God-Demon Venerable Realm.
Even Lou Xianyue, who had been lingering at the Peak of Beast Emperor for many years, broke through to the Beast Venerable Realm in a single stroke.
The realms of Si Ye and Anubia also advanced trendously. But what shocked them all the most wasn’t their cultivation realms, but their—lifespans!
Their lifespans had beco endless!
And this was all because of their mate marks; their female partner had shared her lifespan with them.
"It’s Luo’er..."
Fei Yuan’s phoenix-like eyes filled with the ecstatic joy of having her back, and the Black Qi enveloping his body slowly dissipated.
He pressed a hand over his heart. There, above its beating, the Fire Phoenix Mark had flared back to life!
No one in this world knew better than him that the mate mark wouldn’t disappear after Nirvana Rebirth. ’Luo’er is still alive!’
Anubia and the others all sensed that their mate marks had returned. However, they still couldn’t sense Sang Luo’s aura, and neither could the children. That left only one possibility: she was still in the Ghost Domain.
’Why hasn’t she co back yet?’
"Sangsang is with the Rakshasa King now."
Quan Jin arrived with the child and told the two who hadn’t been there what had transpired a few days prior. "Ever since she gave birth, the Rakshasa King has driven us out. His goal is painfully obvious. He wants to keep Sangsang for himself!"
「Ghost Domain.」
Sang Luo had been in a deep, heavy sleep.
When she opened her eyes again, her mind was terribly groggy.
The palace was opulent and grand. In the center was a pool constructed from jade and sprinkled with flower petals. Steam swirled gently, and a pleasant dicinal aroma mingled with the floral fragrance.
She was draped in nothing but a thin, cyan gauze robe. It was already revealing, and now, soaked with water, the fabric clung to her skin, outlining her exquisite curves in a way that was both innocent and utterly seductive.
A man in a black robe approached, its collar wide open, putting his well-defined, powerful abs on full display.
A cyan jade necklace rested against his chest. As it swayed, it contrasted sharply with his cool, pale, jade-like skin and the alluring points of red upon it.
Sang Luo stared, srized, and couldn’t help but swallow. She watched a droplet of condensed steam trace a path down his pectoral muscles, over his abs, along his V-lines, and then... it disappeared beneath the waistband of his trousers, but not before she could faintly discern the imposing curve within.
"Heh."
A low, magnetic chuckle sounded beside her ear.
Realizing what she had just been staring at, she blushed and quickly averted her gaze. But in the next instant, with a splash, she was pulled into a broad, powerful embrace.
The water swirled suggestively as she was spun around and pinned against the side of the pool by the man.
The cool jade pressed painfully against her back, making her let out a soft cry as her eyes began to glisten.
"You—let go!"
She whispered, her voice tight with anxiety. Her delicate brows furrowed, and her gaze, fixed on Sha, was full of undisguised wariness.
There was neither aversion nor affection.
Just the look one gives a complete stranger.
Seeing her expression, Sha’s heart sank. ’It seems her mories haven’t returned after all.’
And yet, for so reason, a sliver of secret delight blood within him. ’It’s better this way, without her past mories. They weren’t good mories for , anyway. It’s best if they’re simply erased. Then, she’ll belong to and alone.’
"I’m your Beast Husband. Don’t you rember?" Sha’s finger gently brushed across the space between her eyebrows, and a cyan mark appeared there. "This is our mate mark. It proves I’m not lying. You had an accident during childbirth, which is why you lost your mories."
"But it’s alright. I’ll be with you as you slowly recover them."
His voice was bewitching.
"All you need to do is stay obediently by my side."
Sang Luo’s tense body gradually relaxed. An indescribable exhaustion washed over her, a weariness that stemd not from her body, but from the very depths of her soul.
Her strength gone, she sagged against the man, her slender fingers lightly clutching the front of his robe and wrinkling the fabric.
Sha knew this was a side effect of her soul’s incomplete recovery. The entire dicinal bath was ant to nourish her Divine Soul.
He picked up the Golden Vase Jade Wine from a nearby ledge, took a sip, then lowered his head, parted her lips, and fed the liquid to her.
Sang Luo slowly forgot to resist, submitting to both his offering and his taking.
When he had fed her a sufficient amount, Sha swept Sang Luo up into his arms and carried her to the bed. Even in sleep, he held her tightly, as if afraid she might run away.
’I have no mory of this man,’ Sang Luo thought, feeling a little uncomfortable. ’But I can definitely feel the connection of the mate mark between us, which ans we really are partners... We’re just sleeping in an embrace. If I resist too much, I’ll just seem like I’m making a fuss. Besides, he gently promised to help get my mories back...’
’And we have a child together?’
Sang Luo thought she should find a chance to see their child.
’Maybe I really did have an accident during childbirth and lost my mories. If I can see our child, perhaps I can get those mories back.’
With this in mind, Sang Luo no longer resisted the man’s closeness. She even took the initiative to wrap her arms around his lean, firm waist and said softly, "Thank you."
"..."
The arm around her waist tightened.
But Sang Luo didn’t hear a reply from him. Slowly, drowsily, she drifted off to sleep.
After living in Rashamon Palace for the better part of a month, Sang Luo gradually beca familiar with her surroundings.
The guards and servants in the palace were unfailingly respectful toward her.
Sang Luo often overheard the servants discussing in private how she had borne the Rakshasa King his most precious heir—an exquisitely beautiful little female cub.
The birth of a young heir should have been a montous event celebrated throughout the Ghost Domain. Yet, since the child’s birth, the Venerable King hadn’t held a single blessing ceremony. He had even suppressed all news regarding the birth, his attitude chillingly indifferent.
’Does the Rakshasa King not like this child?’
Sang Luo felt a pang of sadness.
’A man’s regard for his child is largely influenced by his feelings for the child’s mother. Could it be that my relationship with the Rakshasa King isn’t good?’
Sang Luo had asked to see the child more than once, but Sha always put her off with various excuses.
Then one day, Sang Luo t another man. He was handso, with long golden hair, golden eyes, and ten snow-white wings. He, too, insisted that he was her Beast Husband and that he had co to take her ho.
Sang Luo was utterly confused.
’Why is every man I et claiming to be my Beast Husband?’
’Just how many husbands do I have?’
"Luoluo, don’t tell you’ve lost your mory?" Minos asked anxiously.
"I... I have lost a lot of my mories. There are so many things I can’t recall, and I don’t know why I’m here." But her instincts scread that she shouldn’t be in the Ghost Domain.
"Thankfully, I anticipated an accident like this and made a copy of your mories beforehand. Now, I’ll return them to you." A golden firefly appeared in Minos’s palm and flew into the space between her eyebrows.
A few seconds later, Sang Luo opened her eyes. She rembered everything.
