"There’s an entrance exam in three days. Do you want to go?" Caesar asked, looking utterly satisfied. He was in an excellent mood, toying with her long, soft hair.
Sang Luo nestled in his arms, greedily inhaling the cool, crisp scent of pine and snow that clung to him. It slled so good she couldn’t resist burying her face in his chest. "Is the exam very difficult?" she asked, her voice muffled.
"Not really. It mainly tests your talent and combat ability, and there’s a written exam. If you think it’s too much trouble, I can get you admitted directly."
’Pulling strings, huh,’ Sang Luo thought, chuckling. "I’ll give it a try anyway!" She was confident in her own abilities.
The entrance exam for Yalan Military School hadn’t changed much over the years and was primarily divided into three tests.
The first was a talent assessnt.
The second was a written exam.
The third, and the main event, was a test of the students’ practical combat skills.
The first stage, the talent assessnt, was slightly stricter this year. Male Beastn had to be under eighteen years old with a talent of Fifth Rank or higher, ensuring only the most promising young Beastn from the entire Empire were selected.
The requirents for females, however, were far more relaxed.
—Any young female of childbearing age who had reached the Third Rank in strength would pass.
This was enough to show the different purposes the academy had for recruiting females versus males.
Of course, very few of the females who entered the academy truly intended to join the military. Most were there to find an outstanding Beast Husband—after all, any Male Beast who passed the selection for Yalan Academy was guaranteed to be the elite of the Empire’s elite!
The academy was well aware of this but couldn’t be too obvious about it. So, conditions were set, and females were still required to complete the tests according to the rules.
A female who was completely useless, with no Talent Abilities whatsoever, would be unable to produce high-talent offspring with an outstanding male. Admitting them would be a waste of resources.
Sang Luo wasn’t worried about the first stage. It was the second—the written exam—that troubled her. She was completely clueless about the military academy’s theoretical curriculum.
’Three days isn’t enough ti to cram. This is such a last-ditch effort, it’s bound to fail spectacularly!’
Caesar brought her a few practice exams from his study. "These are from past years’ entrance exams for the Yalan Military School. I’ve organized them for you. You can use them to practice. If there’s anything you don’t understand, just ask ."

Caesar poured her a glass of fruit milk. "Would you like sothing to drink?"

"Then how about sothing to eat?"

Sang Luo didn’t even look up. "It’s not enough! Bring twenty more of these!"
"..." ’Is it really that difficult?’
It was a desperate gamble.
Sang Luo didn’t understand the theories behind the questions at all; she just brute-force morized the answers...
「Three days later.」
「Yalan Military School.」
Sang Luo had no desire to cause another commotion like the one on registration day, nor did she want to attract any more troubleso rivals. She had specifically changed into a simple, low-key outfit and parted ways with Caesar before they reached the academy.
She arrived quite early, so there weren’t many people in line ahead of her. After her information was verified, Sang Luo was led into the academy’s main hall.
So people were organizing their equipnt, while others were cramming from their notes.
There were several thousand people, and that didn’t even include those who hadn’t finished registering yet.
There were only about a hundred females present, each dressed in magnificent attire and possessing exceptional looks. They were almost all noble females from powerful families.
Each female was surrounded by several Beastn who waited on them hand and foot, appearing to be their companions.
In the third stage, the combat elimination round, most females didn’t stand a chance based on their own strength, so they brought partners of the sa age to assist them.
The school administration turned a blind eye to this practice. The ability to command powerful males to fight loyally for them was considered one of a female’s strengths, and over ti, it had beco an unspoken tradition.
Sang Luo glanced at the empty space around her and sighed. ’In the end, you have to rely on yourself.’
Before long, the commotion in the crowd died down as a carriage pulled by three giant beasts swaggered onto the academy grounds.
These giant beasts were tad High Rank Star Beasts known as Giant Dragon Lizards.
What a grand entrance! It was a truly awe-inspiring sight, and the eyes of many Beastn filled with envy.
A handso and imposing White Tiger Beastman walked alongside the carriage. He lifted the gauze curtain and carefully carried its occupant out.
Sophie Asate was wearing a European-style gown of erald green with a voluminous skirt. With her wavy golden hair and pink eyes, she looked like an exquisitely dressed doll. She was escorted by an adoring entourage to the very front of the line.
Sang Luo raised an eyebrow. She turned to a Pallas’s Cat Beastman who was also watching the spectacle and asked, "What’s the story with this Princess Sophie Asate? That’s quite an entourage. She doesn’t seem to be part of the Yalan Royal Family."
