Rainbow, beside Chen Gu, chuckled softly. "Parents shouldn't be too protective," she whispered. "You have to trust your child and let go when it's ti."
Chen Gu gave her a helpless glance. He knew that few within the headquarters knew the secrets between him, Chen Jixian, and Aviloya, but the quirky Rainbow was definitely one of them.
With another smile, Rainbow tugged at Chen Gu. "Let's hurry and go!"
Chen Gu was still sowhat uneasy and gestured for half of the special agents to stay. "You guys provide support for Captain Chen."
Hou Min, still being carried by Chen Gu, said, "We're not far from that mine now."
WHOOSH—
In one leap, Chen Gu covered hundreds of ters with Hou Min, who rolled his eyes and gulped down a mouthful of wind.
Just minutes later, Chen Gu stood before the mine. The entrance, having suffered countless collapses, was severely damaged. Only a few ters high remained, surrounded by rubble and weeds.
At that mont, a succession of dull thuds emanated from deep within the mine, resembling the heartbeat of a colossal monster lurking in the depths.
Chen Gu waved his hand, and Hou Min flew far back, landing safely on a hillside hundreds of ters away.
Without needing orders from Chen Gu, the other special agents in the team imdiately chose appropriate battle positions according to their expertise.
Before the mine's entrance, only three people remained: Chen Gu, Rainbow, and another Sixth Energy Level Hell Titan.
Hou Min marveled inwardly. Elites from Capital Star, indeed!
At the sa ti, he couldn't help but feel a sense of longing. Would I ever have the chance to be transferred to Capital Star following Captain Chen? If so, I believe that given ti, I too could beco such an elite!
Rainbow's spiritual power spread out rapidly, reaching deep into the mine. Suddenly, sothing erupted, causing Rainbow to grunt and press her hand against her forehead.
Chen Gu quickly asked, "What's wrong?"
Rainbow recovered quickly. After all, she was at the Eighth Energy Level.
"It's too late," she sighed. "The creature inside has already erged from its cocoon, and it can even counter my professional skills!"
Chen Gu's expression grew serious. "It can counter Eighth Energy Level skills?!"
Rainbow waved her hand. "The skill I just used wasn't at an Eighth Energy Level standard, but I have a feeling this creature... won't be easy to deal with."
BOOM, BOOM, BOOM—
A series of loud noises ca from the pit; the creature seed about to erge. Chen Gu didn't hesitate to call for the main force at the rear: "Collapse this mountain wall!"
Chen Gu quickly made a tactical gesture, and the surrounding special agents retreated at full speed. As they retreated, a huge energy shell flew from the sky and struck the entrance with precision.
BOOM!
The ground shook as the hollowed-out mountain wall collapsed completely. Countless boulders fell, burying the mine.
Before the aftershocks of the explosion dissipated, Chen Gu rushed forward.
Suddenly, amidst the dust, Chen Gu sensed danger—sothing shot up from below.
Chen Gu dodged aside, barely avoiding the attack, only for a large net to be hurled at him from the dust, catching him.
The net tightened quickly, exhibiting strong resilience and stickiness.
In his urgency, Chen Gu found it difficult to cut through with his Father-Son Sword.
The net pulled Chen Gu swiftly towards an opening. He bellowed, his body enlarging and his strength surging as he firmly planted his feet on the ground.
Yet, the net's pulling force was incredibly strong. Chen Gu paused for only a mont before being pulled aloft once more!
Chen Gu cursed under his breath. He grabbed the net with both hands, his eyes fixated, as a crimson fla ignited.
Nuclear Fusion Ray Eyes activated.
However, the net's resistance to fire was also extrely strong. Under the scorching of the Nuclear Fusion Ray Eyes, the net slowly beca translucent, but its strength and resilience had barely diminished!
Chen Gu gripped his Father-Son Sword and, with a powerful swing, finally cut a large opening in the net. He then shrank his form and broke free.
He happened to et Rainbow, who was rushing to his rescue. Seeing Chen Gu's troubled expression, Rainbow quickly asked, "What's the situation?"
Chen Gu, vigilantly surveying the surroundings, said, "Very tough to deal with!"
BOOM—
With a loud noise, boulders scattered across the ground as the two leaped back. Rainbow, without hesitation, created a ntal illusion and pulled Chen Gu to hide within it.
A massive creature, hundreds of ters long, leaped from beneath the ground. The explosion that collapsed the mountain wall had done little damage to it. It resembled a terrifyingly large spider. Its upper body, however, featured over a dozen thick, long fleshy tendrils. These tendrils, resembling oversized horsehair worms, were each tipped with a ring of sharp teeth that constantly opened and closed.
Moreover, hidden tongue barbs could be seen within the gaping maws.
The creature, though seemingly confused by Rainbow's ntal illusion, charged out angrily. Unable to find its target, the ring of eyes atop its gargantuan spider abdon rotated, searching.
Rainbow whispered to Chen Gu, "A new species. It's undoubtedly recently evolved; we've never seen anything like it before."
Chen Gu said, "The key is, what in the world are these revolting insects trying to achieve by creating such a new species?"
If it's about power, those formidable insects that can traverse the Star Sea and combat main battle Starships are far stronger than this one.
