The mont Fenrir heard the voice echoing as though it were whispering directly beside its ear, the monstrous wolf's face instantly twisted into an almost human expression of sheer panic.
Then, without even thinking, it violently slamd its jaws shut, trying to bite Ren Kuroda to death on the spot!
But reality quickly proved that even after Ren had already ended up inside its mouth, Fenrir still couldn't do a damn thing to him.
Because Ren truly was not an easy bone to chew.
The demonic wolf Fenrir possessed terrifying bite force, yet just like during their previous clash of strength, it still couldn't gain even the slightest advantage against Ren.
At that mont, Fenrir desperately tried to force its jaws closed, attempting to grind Ren's body to pieces with its countless razor-sharp fangs.
Unfortunately for the wolf, things did not go according to plan.
Ren planted both feet firmly against Surtr's tongue while bracing his hands against Fenrir's upper jaw. Fenrir couldn't bite down on him, yet it also couldn't swallow him.
The situation was exactly like having a bone lodged in its throat.
And because Ren was currently inside Fenrir's mouth, Loki couldn't recklessly launch attacks either. Even Fenrir itself could only awkwardly shove its claws into its own mouth, trying to dig Ren back out.
"Scattered beast bones, crimson crystal spires, steel wheels! Motion is wind, stillness is void! The clash of spears resounds through the empty fortress!
Hadō Number Sixty-Three—Raikōhō!"
Inside Fenrir's mouth, Ren kicked away the claws reaching toward him while rapidly chanting the Kidō incantation.
The mont it sensed the overwhelming magical power gathering inside its throat, the demonic wolf Fenrir imdiately lost its nerve.
If the attack ca from outside, its steel-like fur could withstand most damage without issue.
But this was inside its body—inside its throat, one of its vital weak points. If magic of this level exploded inside its mouth, then even a so-called divine beast would unquestionably die.
A massive sphere of lightning energy rapidly condensed in Ren's hands. Brilliant golden thunderlight burst outward through Fenrir's eyes, ears, nostrils, and mouth, making the gigantic wolf look like an oversized glowing lantern.
And once it died, both its corpse and soul would undoubtedly be turned into Sacred Gear materials. The forr Two Heavenly Dragons had already proven that!
So when faced with a true life-or-death crisis, the always arrogant and unruly Fenrir finally panicked. Using telepathy, it hurriedly transmitted its voice directly into Ren's mind.
"So, what you're saying is that you want to abandon the darkness and switch sides? You want to spare your life, and from now on you'll willingly submit to ?"
Ren's voice carried obvious amusent.
"But according to mythology, Loki is supposed to be your father, right? Honestly, I'm having a hard ti believing you. Killing you still seems like the safer option."
Feeling the magical power inside its mouth grow even more unstable—as though it might explode at any second—Fenrir's expression beca even more terrified. It imdiately tried to explain through telepathy that its relationship with Loki was not truly that of father and son.
Strictly speaking, Loki was the father of both Fenrir and Jörmungandr.
But that "father" title existed only because Loki had created them.
And naturally, as their creator, Loki also possessed thods to restrain and control them. That was why Surtr, despite possessing imnse intelligence and power far surpassing Loki's, still obediently allowed himself to be manipulated.
According to Fenrir, Loki had never viewed either it or Jörmungandr as his real children.
To him, they were rely tools.
Ren, on the other hand, was stronger—and he had conquered Fenrir through sheer overwhelming force. So naturally, Fenrir was willing to acknowledge him as its new master.
"…Isn't this basically the relationship between Majin Buu and Bibidi?"
Fenrir had absolutely no idea who "Majin Buu" or "Bibidi" were supposed to be.
But the mont Ren dispelled the dangerously condensed Kidō in his hands, Fenrir let out an enormous sigh of relief.
Because it understood what that ant.
Ren had accepted its surrender.
Sure, it had lost its freedom, and from now on it would probably beco soone else's attack dog.
But at least it got to keep living.
Besides, Fenrir hadn't possessed much freedom to begin with. Loki had always treated it as nothing more than a tool for triggering Ragnarök. All that had changed was that it had switched from being Loki's dog to soone else's.
And if it had to serve sobody anyway, Fenrir was far more satisfied with a master like Ren—soone whose strength genuinely surpassed its own.
After all, Fenrir was still one of the world's top ten strongest beings.
Who would willingly keep obeying so weakling weaker than themselves forever?
The violent magical fluctuations radiating from Fenrir gradually began to fade.
At the sa ti, the wolf revealed a vicious grimace as massive amounts of blood poured from between its teeth.
Seeing that scene, Rias and the others completely broke down, collapsing weakly onto the ground in despair.
As for Loki, he revealed a relieved smile and once again began mockingly ridiculing the weakened Odin and the others.
anwhile, Azazel had already prepared himself to self-destruct his artificial Sacred Gear in a desperate attempt to carve out a path to survival.
Honestly, Azazel had never imagined that Ren would lose to the demonic wolf Fenrir.
Back when he had witnessed Ren and Ophis fight, the power they displayed had clearly surpassed that of the legendary Two Heavenly Dragons.
Of course, Ren's defeat now wasn't entirely shocking either.
After all, besides Surtr, there was also Loki constantly stabbing him in the back from the shadows.
And after Ren's previous battle against Ophis, his body had still been heavily injured. The fact that he had managed to fight Fenrir and Loki simultaneously for this long was already monstrously impressive.
"Now even the so-called strongest yokai is dead. Do you people have any reinforcents left?
Even if the Underworld's Demon Kings arrived right now, they still wouldn't be able to change your inevitable fate!"
After taking down Odin and Azazel, and now with Ren seemingly swallowed whole by Fenrir, Loki believed victory was completely secured.
So, like most villains after gaining the upper hand, he naturally entered full arrogant monologue mode.
As the saying went, villains die from talking too much.
But honestly, if a villain managed to beat down the protagonist and still didn't take the chance to deliver a dramatic speech and steal the spotlight, then what was even the point of being a villain?
Fenrir, its mouth still dripping with blood, slowly walked behind Loki.
Yet Loki noticed nothing unusual.
Both Fenrir and Jörmungandr had been created by Loki himself. To prevent them from ever turning against him, he had long ago implanted binding spells within them. Neither Fenrir nor Jörmungandr should have been capable of attacking him.
Seeing Fenrir approach with such a savage expression didn't make Loki uneasy in the slightest.
If anything, he felt Fenrir's vicious appearance only made the evil god Loki himself seem even more imposing.
And as for why Fenrir looked so ferocious?
Wasn't that obvious?
The idiot had bitten its own tongue hard enough to cause massive bleeding. If that kind of pain didn't leave it baring its teeth in agony, then it wouldn't be a normal living creature.
Loki continued delivering his triumphant speech before Odin and the others.
But just as the dramatic climax of his prepared monologue was about to arrive—
A long blade suddenly pierced straight through his chest from behind.
The excitent and exhilaration frozen on Loki's face slowly stiffened.
Then, little by little, it transford into utter disbelief.
