With each successive, crushing impact from Jörmungandr, the barrier suspended over Kyoto finally reached its limit—and shattered under the relentless assault.

With the last line of defense gone, the torrents spewed from the dragon descended like a catastrophic flood, sweeping across the entire city in an instant.

Famous landmarks and historic sites stood no chance before the tsunami-like waves, collapsing one after another as if they were nothing more than fragile sandcastles.

Raging waters surged through every street, and in re monts, Kyoto was swallowed by a vast expanse of water.

Against an opponent on the level of a Dragon King, the yokai of Kyoto had little hope of resistance. Whether in magical power or sheer size, they held no advantage whatsoever.

Yokai were typically powerful, physically robust beings—but even when they revealed their true forms, they were no larger than one of Jörmungandr's claws.

They unleashed everything they had, their attacks raining down on the colossal dragon—but not only did they fail to cause any real damage, they couldn't even break through its defenses.

anwhile, on the other side of the battlefield, Rias and her group were in equally dire straits.

Although their side had heavyweights like Azazel and Odin, their enemies—Loki and the Demon Wolf Fenrir—were just as formidable.

Azazel was currently limited to using artificial Sacred Gears. Even with the Balance Breaker of the Golden Dragon Lord Fafnir, the power he could exert barely reached Dragon King level at best.

Odin had originally co here on vacation and hadn't brought his combat equipnt. On top of that, Loki knew him inside and out and had co fully prepared—leaving Odin suppressed throughout the fight.

Rias and her team had also joined the battle. Thanks to Ren's earlier training, Kiba, Issei, and the others had all successfully achieved Balance Breaker.

But Issei's debut in the Balance Breaker of the Boosted Gear… had co against an absolutely disastrous opponent.

The Red Dragon Emperor Armor, ford by the Divine Dividing's counterpart Sacred Gear, should have possessed formidable defensive power—

Yet before Fenrir's "God-Slaying Fangs," it was as fragile as paper.

Standing before Odin, Rossweisse unleashed a barrage of layered magic spells at Loki.

But no matter how powerful the Valkyrie was, there was still an insurmountable gap between her and a true Chief God.

Faced with the dazzling storm of magical attacks, Loki rely snapped his fingers expressionlessly—

And every single spell reversed direction, turning back toward Rossweisse herself.

Though Rossweisse had mastered most Norse magic systems, Loki—as the god of curses—was equally proficient, if not more so.

"Lord Loki, please stop this madness. I've already contacted Lord Thor and the others in the Norse realm. They'll learn of what's happening here soon and rush to assist. If you continue, it will be too late to turn back."

To a Valkyrie, all Norse gods were figures to be protected—and Loki was no exception.

More importantly, Rossweisse herself wasn't confident that they could hold out against Loki and Fenrir until reinforcents arrived.

"Foolish," Loki sneered. "If I dared to act against Odin, do you think I ca unprepared?

"You contacted the Norse gods—did they respond? Or perhaps the devils over there reached out to the Underworld? Tell … did your Demon Kings reply?"

At Loki's smug words, both Rossweisse and Rias froze in shock.

Because what he said… was exactly true.

"Before making my move, I set up Norse runic barriers across Kyoto. All forms of communication here have been cut off.

"In other words, none of you can contact the outside world. Even if Odin dies here, the bla will fall squarely on the Kyoto yokai—and the devils of the Underworld."

Once Odin was dead, Loki would beco one of the highest-ranking gods in the Norse pantheon. At that point, he could twist the narrative however he pleased.

"I see," a calm voice suddenly spoke from behind him. "So when Odin dies, the Norse gods will vent their wrath on the yokai of Kyoto.

"And since the yokai lack the strength to slay a Chief God like Odin… the bla can conveniently be shifted onto the devils of the Underworld, who maintain close ties with them. Is that it?"

The sudden voice made Loki's smug expression falter slightly as he turned around.

There, walking toward him from a short distance away, was a young man and a woman.

The man wore casual clothes, his chestnut hair short and neat, his deanor relaxed yet confident.

The woman beside him had long black hair flowing down to her thighs, dressed in a kimono slightly too large for her fra, trailing half a step behind him.

Rias and the others didn't recognize the woman—

But the mont they saw the man, their faces lit up with unmistakable relief.

"Took long enough to get here, huh?" Ren Kuroda said with a casual grin. "Man, you guys look rough. If I'd shown up any later, would you have already been turned into chew toys?"

Seeing half of them collapsed and all of them wounded, Ren couldn't help but feel a hint of surprise.

After achieving Balance Breaker, Issei and Kiba should have been quite formidable.

Yet now, Issei's Red Dragon Emperor Armor was almost completely shattered—and a chunk of his abdon had been torn away. If he were still human, that injury alone would have killed him outright.

"So you're the 'strongest yokai' the Khaos Brigade ntioned," Loki said, studying Ren with interest. "Your magical power is indeed impressive.

"But you've arrived too late. Odin and Azazel are already at their limits—neither can continue fighting.

"With just you and this group of wounded stragglers, there's no way you can defeat and Fenrir."

Kyoto should have been completely sealed off. Loki didn't know how Ren had learned of the situation or managed to arrive so quickly—but it didn't matter.

At this point, Loki was utterly confident in his victory.

There were rumors that this half-yokai before him could rival the Dragon God Ophis—but Loki didn't believe them.

The so-called "strongest yokai" was, at best, on the level of the Two Heavenly Dragons—aning roughly equal to Fenrir.

And from what he'd heard, Ren had been injured in a previous battle.

With himself and Fenrir working together, there was simply no way they could lose.

As for Rias and the others?

Frankly, Loki hadn't considered them part of the equation at all.

For their age, they were certainly impressive—

But in a battlefield filled with Chief Gods, Fallen Angel Governors, Dragon Kings, and supre yokai leaders…

A group of high-class devils simply didn't asure up.
