Inside the Occult Research Club, Rias sat on the sofa, a troubled expression lingering on her face.
Lately, she had been juggling two major responsibilities—overseeing the preparations for the three-faction peace conference, while also doing everything she could to strengthen her peerage in case of unexpected incidents.
And after Hyoudou Issei, the club had welcod another new mber: Asia Argento—a forr church nun who possessed the Sacred Gear known as Twilight Healing.
Asia's Sacred Gear had the power to heal, and its effect worked regardless of the target. While it couldn't match sothing like the instantaneous recovery of "Phoenix Tears," its healing speed was still incredibly impressive.
Gaining soone with such a rare ability should have been a cause for celebration.
Issei had been growing rapidly lately, and now with Asia's support, Rias felt far more confident about handling security during the upcoming conference.
However—
Just as things were beginning to stabilize, two unexpected visitors had arrived.
Their nas were Xenovia and Irina—Holy Sword wielders from the Church.
With the peace talks between the three factions approaching, their purpose in coming here wasn't to provoke conflict, but to request Rias's assistance in locating certain Holy Swords.
Rias had no intention of clashing with the Church—but neither did she want to get entangled in their affairs.
In the end, she allowed the two of them to operate within her territory, but refused to provide any direct help.
Under normal circumstances, that would have been the end of it.
But among her peerage, Kiba Yuuto seed to harbor a deep, personal obsession with the concept of "Holy Swords."
Although Rias had strictly forbidden everyone from interfering in the Church's internal matters—
Kiba had ignored her orders.
And he had already been missing for several days.
Kiba was one of the first to join Rias. She knew parts of his past, and because of that, she understood why he was so fixated on Holy Swords.
She wanted to help him overco his trauma.
But at the sa ti, she had received a warning from her family.
The three-faction peace conference was imminent. This was not the ti for the devil faction to co into conflict with the Church.
And more importantly—
This matter wasn't simple.
The Holy Swords had been safely stored within the Church. So how could they suddenly be stolen by a re priest at such a critical mont?
Rias didn't believe for a second that there was no one backing him.
Whoever had taken the swords…
Was likely just a pawn.
There were probably other forces involved—pulling strings behind the scenes.
—
While Rias was drowning in trouble, Ren wasn't having an easy ti either.
At Kuoh Academy, he was constantly being tugged back and forth between Rias and Sona, both trying to recruit him. On top of that, he had to deal with overly enthusiastic female students—and even teachers.
And even when he returned ho, he found no peace.
If anything… it felt even more dangerous.
What had once been a modest apartnt shared by just him and Kunou had now transford into a luxurious villa.
Between Yasaka, Kunou, and the nurous maids, there were now nearly twenty people living under the sa roof.
That alone would have been manageable—
If not for the fact that nearly every fox-eared and cat-eared girl in the house seed to have designs on him.
The way they looked at him… it was practically as if they wanted to achieve "inter-species unity" on the spot.
Among yokai, survival of the fittest was a fundantal law. They also followed strong reproductive instincts—females naturally sought out powerful males to bear strong offspring.
And right now?
Ren was the only male in the house.
Not only that—he was stronger than even Yasaka, their supre commander.
It was obvious what kind of "treatnt" that would lead to.
Compared to the shy, inexperienced human girls at Kuoh Academy, yokai won were far more bold and uninhibited.
And it wasn't just the maids.
As she grew more familiar with him, even Yasaka herself had beco increasingly daring.
Just last night, she had casually wrapped herself in a towel and walked into the bathroom—while Ren was still bathing—offering to help scrub his back.
There was nothing inherently wrong with that.
But Ren was more worried about things escalating beyond "scrubbing backs."
He was still a healthy young man, after all.
Bleeding out a few dozen milliliters of nosebleed every day—no matter how strong he was—wasn't sustainable!
Which was why, lately, Ren had taken to wandering outside after als, finding any excuse to stay away from ho.
There were simply too many "dangerous spirits" there.
If he stayed too long… he genuinely feared ending up with a house full of fox-eared and cat-eared daughters.
—
But today, as he wandered aimlessly, Ren suddenly realized he had stepped into a barrier.
The barrier didn't block movent—it rely repelled ordinary humans.
Clearly, soone nearby was conducting sothing and didn't want civilians approaching.
It didn't take long for Ren to find the source.
In an open clearing, three figures stood.
Two of them—a man and a woman—were locked in combat, both gripping swords.
The third, another woman, stood off to the side, arms crossed as she watched.
The girl fighting had shoulder-length blue hair, and she wielded a massive sword with surprising ease. There was a sharp, commanding aura about her—both cool and striking.
The other girl, observing, had chestnut-colored hair tied in a ponytail, her appearance sweet and delicate.
Judging by their looks, both girls were about the sa age as Issei.
And yet…
They were exceptionally well-developed.
No—ever since arriving in this world, Ren had noticed sothing.
The won here were, on average… overdeveloped.
Rias, Akeno—and now these two as well.
They were clearly young, and yet…
Was this even scientifically possible?
Of course, while their figures were undeniably eye-catching, Ren had already been exposed to far too much lately.
At this point, that alone wasn't enough to distract him.
What truly caught his attention—
Was the boy fighting against the blue-haired girl.
Kiba Yuuto.
A mber of Rias's peerage.
Kiba was also a Sacred Gear user. His ability, Sword Birth, allowed him to create demonic swords suited for battle at will.
Demonic swords and Holy Swords.
Devils and the Church.
They were natural enemies.
And yet, Kiba's goal wasn't to defeat Xenovia or Irina—
It was to destroy the Holy Swords in their possession.
Xenovia and the others had co to retrieve those swords.
Kiba wanted to erase them.
There was no way the two sides could ever reach an understanding.
And from the flow of the battle, Ren could tell imdiately—
Kiba was no match for Xenovia.
"As expected of a devil—truly wicked," Xenovia declared coldly.
"We had no intention of clashing with the Gremory household. But if you continue to obstruct our mission…"
She raised the Holy Sword of Destruction high above her head.
"Then we will have no choice but to eliminate you!"
With a single, effortless strike, she shattered the demonic sword in Kiba's hand.
The massive blade continued its arc—
Now descending straight toward Kiba's head.
