"Crown, I do not quite understand what role this sorcerer plays here..." Alvin looked sowhat confused as he watched He Sai Carn continue his great scamming enterprise.
Bai Yang had established the system of Demons and Werewolves to give those two holy Knights and Saints sothing to do in New York.
It was also to channel faith and Wish Power within that city.
The actions of the South Arican gods initiated in Luo City naturally carried the intention of strengthening the ethnic identity of certain groups, thereby harvesting their faith.
Using the South Arican gods as beacons of faith would naturally yield a better harvest of belief, which was completely understandable.
Even the appearance of Vampires was ant to align with the Fantasy Version of the Arican Civil War Tiline he had established. At the sa ti, it ensured that the special concept of 'Jehovah' was no longer just an empty idea, transforming it into a primordial part of the world's existence.
Alvin could understand all of these things. The existence of these divine factions had indeed brought them considerable benefits.
Similarly, their existence triggered massive changes everywhere, and the connections between several locations had gradually grown closer. The recent conversation at the White House was proof of this.
But Bai Yang suddenly placing a continuously growing "sorcerer" here truly baffled Alvin.
Most of the other powers had been directly bestowed, but what he gave out this ti was actually Knowledge.
"Of course you don't understand, because you do not understand this country!" Bai Yang said with a smile. "Fortunately, I do!"
"The country of Arica—sotis you cannot view it as a country, but rather as a gigantic company!"
"Prominent Families, Business Conglorates, the Military-Industrial Complex, Pharmaceutical Companies, Politicians... these groups together make up the board of directors for this company. However, the vast majority of the people in this company are just employees!"
"So what we tried before was starting from the top. We aid to obtain Wish Power through the understanding of the upper echelons and gain the approval of certain powerful figures!"
Bai Yang rubbed his hands together, summoning a tiny fla in his palm before quickly snuffing it out. "But now, I am trying another path. I am letting these 'employees' choose their own paths!"
"Tell , if they take the initiative to gather it themselves, wouldn't they generate even more Wish Power?"
Bai Yang had actually developed his own targeted plan long ago and had been steadily moving forward with it.
In the very beginning, his only goal was to survive. Thus, he orchestrated the small town incident, the Gang incident, the Church incident, the Mayan Sacrifice incident, and the subsequent Tornado incident.
These were all very frugal, small-scale skirmishes. Even the imnsely destructive Tornado was essentially just the manipulation of weather phenona.
However, with the full outbreak of the Tornado incident, Bai Yang acquired ample Wish Power and God Power, naturally shifting his perspective.
He no longer needed to worry about basic survival, which paved the way for the events in New York. Compared to the fragnted incidents in California, the overarching narrative of the New York events was significantly more cohesive.
The appearance of Demons, Knights, Angels, and demons; world-ending crises and the Descent of the Saint; the Brotherhood and Werewolves; the Arican Civil War and Vampires.
The interconnectivity of these stories was clearly much more coherent than his earlier creations.
Now, at least a million people across all of Arica were his devout believers. The Wish Power provided by these followers was enough to guarantee him an inco of one hundred points of God Power every week.
This was already an astonishing figure, matching the inco level that only mid-tier deities in the Dylan Continent would enjoy.
This earning capacity sparked more ideas in his mind and opened up countless new possibilities for this world!
Just like this current situation. He gave He Sai abilities but erased his mory, making He Sai completely forget the existence of Gaap. The man was left to piece together information about the Contract he signed solely from the mouths of his believers.
Aside from a special directive to "kill mbers of The Church," he was an entirely free man!
The Knowledge he obtained was also sothing that could grow alongside his personal advancent. This was a unique gift completely independent of the existing system. It represented disorder and chaos, yet it also embodied the raw imagination of the grassroots.
"I gave him a designated enemy. In order to survive under the crushing pressure of The Church, he must continuously strengthen himself and ceaselessly preach his Doctrine!" Bai Yang said with a smile. "The minds of Floridians are far too fascinating. This will be a highly entertaining experint!"
"Your ideas... are truly marvelous!" Alvin sighed in admiration. "I will help you refine this concept and monitor these people's movents. If this truly results in a different surge of Wish Power, or even the ergence of entirely new concepts, it will be a magnificent endeavor!"
Bai Yang nodded, his face brimming with amusent. He was greatly looking forward to seeing what kind of extraordinary maneuvers this highly proactive group of people in Florida, a place Endowed with Outstanding Talents, would bring to the table!
...
No one knew exactly when it started, but a peculiar rumor began circulating through the Slums of Miami. People whispered that in a farm Church near the city's edge, a special Archbishop was selling a unique commodity known as Redemption Coins.
If God were to send down Divine Retribution, purchasing a Redemption Coin could grant exemption from the punishnt. Most importantly, these Redemption Coins were significantly cheaper than the church's Indulgences!
"Man, what's all that? That's outdated news!" a black man on the street scoffed upon hearing this. "Go ask around, where can you even buy Redemption Coins now? They've been sold out for ages, okay!"
"You can't buy them anymore? Why? Weren't there an unlimited amount?" soone asked curiously.
"Of course not! They haven't been unlimited for a long ti!" The man puffed out his chest with pride and declared loudly, "You guys don't know, but three days ago, word got out that the Archbishop completed a pact with a Demon God, just like King Solomon! Now, he is a legendary Divine Favored!"
"Right now, Redemption Coins aren't just items to atone for sins. They act as tokens to request the Archbishop's personal assistance!"
"The Archbishop is omnipotent! They call him the Tily Rain of Florida, the Righteous Protector of Miami! He is a true hero among the Divine Favored!"
Hearing his words, the surrounding crowd obviously didn't buy a single word of it. "Divine Favored? Motherfucker, are you kidding ? Out on the streets of Miami, five out of ten people call themselves a Divine Favored, and the other five just haven't printed the flyers yet!"
"Exactly! My second uncle's granddad also claid to be a Divine Favored. Yesterday he tried to commune with God and ended up kicking the bucket!"
"How did he croak?"
"He tried to circumcise himself, saying his foreskin could communicate with God. He ended up bleeding to death right after the cut!"
"Well, that's one hell of a way to go..."
Hearing the crowd's disdainful voices and the increasingly derailed conversation, the already fired-up man grew highly dissatisfied. He shouted, "Those are all a bunch of fake Divine Favored! But the Archbishop is different! The Archbishop is the real deal!"
"Then I think Mr. Stryker from the next street over is more likely the real deal. After all, he gives out free eggs!"
"True, eggs are definitely much more important!"
"How many is he giving out? I'm going to go grab a couple, eggs have been insanely expensive lately..."
This nonsensical discussion left the man completely dumbfounded. Fortunately, amidst the crowd of jokers, there were actually a few people who were genuinely interested!
As the onlookers dispersed, two n wearing trench coats approached him instead. They asked sowhat secretively, "We heard you can buy Redemption Coins with cash. Are you selling yours?"
Hearing this, a hint of surprise flashed across the man's face. "You guys know the market? Do you know the going price?"
"We know! We understand!" The two n quickly replied. "Fifty thousand dollars for one, right?"
"The price went up!" A trace of fanaticism appeared on his face. "The Archbishop is incredibly powerful, a true god! The price of Redemption Coins has increased! Now it's sixty thousand dollars for one! And barely anyone is even selling them. You guys are just lucky you ran into ..."
As he spoke, he pulled out an exceptionally crude Redemption Coin from his coat. It was just a hand-drawn piece of paper, yet it seed to shimr with a faint, peculiar spiritual light.
He mysteriously presented the slip of paper for the two n to inspect. "See that? This is a Redemption Coin crafted by the Archbishop's own hands. The glowing light on it is the very definition of the arcane!"
The flickering light flashed briefly, yet right before their eyes, the symbol for Sin materialized in the air, looking as vivid as genuine virtual reality.
Everyone knew that a flimsy piece of paper couldn't possibly produce such an effect on its own. Therefore, only one possibility remained: the person standing in front of them had genuinely co into contact with the supernatural!
However, the two n did not show much of a reaction. They had seen far too many of these so-called supernatural performances recently.
In this city known for its "honest and simple" customs, every Cultist who claid to be a Divine Favored possessed this exact trick—the ability to fabricate Divine Miracles!
"How about it? Sixty thousand dollars a piece, and I have three in total. It is a very fair price!" Under the man's expectant gaze, the two n casually pulled Pistols from their coats and fired a shot directly into his head!
"If we kill you, these things will be ours anyway!" the leader said softly. Afterward, he pulled out his phone and made a call.
"Your Excellency, tropolitan Archbishop, we have secured the items!"
