When the man gripped Sian’s hand tightly, Sian frowned and said coldly, "He Jinyun, let go. Now."

But this ti, the obedient little pup didn’t listen. Instead, he tightened his hold on Sian’s hand even more.

A familiar sense of fear and despair stirred within Sian at the man’s touch.

"Why, He Jinyun? Why are you hiding your face? Don’t tell ..."

"Remove your hand now, or else—"

Sian had his suspicions, but he prayed they weren’t true.

They mustn’t be true.

If they were, he didn’t know how he was supposed to react.

"Gege, please," He Jinyun pleaded.

Even with the mask covering his face, the desperate expression on the man’s face was painfully clear.

Yet Sian did not respond; instead, he gripped the mask tighter. His heart was pounding wildly, and a deep, suffocating fear—both familiar and foreign—coiled around his neck like a venomous snake, strangling him.

Sian let out a long sigh to ease the tension in his chest, then tried to smile gently.

He softly stroked the man’s golden hair, his beautiful amber eyes filled with warmth, and said with a tender smile:

"Be a good boy. Don’t move. You’re hurting your brother’s hand, you know?"

In the second half of his sentence, Sian frowned slightly as if he was truly in pain.

Seeing this, He Jinyun imdiately let go, pulling his hand back like he’d been burned, his face full of fear—as if terrified he’d hurt his brother once again, just like before.

He Jinyun didn’t have ti to ask if Sian was alright before he felt Sian’s hand around his mask and yank it off with swift, decisive force.

Everyone in the room stared in shock at the leader of the greatest terrorist organization.

Not because his face was hideous.

Not because he was covered in ghastly, terrifying scars.

No.

The man had golden eyes—eyes just as breathtaking as Sian’s, but sharper, deeper, and far darker.

Looking into them felt like staring straight into the abyss itself.

And that wasn’t all.

Embedded beneath each eye were small golden-yellow gemstones.

Yes, you heard right—real gemstones.

Jewels that seed to have grown from beneath He Jinyun’s skin.

They were stunning—almost srizing.

So beautiful that even He Jinyun’s n were left dumbstruck by their leader’s otherworldly appearance.

Everyone was captivated by the sight, finding it rare, wondrous, and breathtaking.

Everyone except one person.

Sian was trembling.

Lan Qisheng was the first to notice the abnormality in Sian’s condition, but this ti, he did not move.

He didn’t intervene—not because he didn’t care, but because he wanted to stay still and observe.

He wanted to learn everything about his beloved’s past and about this brother who had suddenly appeared.

If he kept interfering, he would never be able to piece together the full story.

Even though he stayed still, Lan Qisheng’s sharp gaze was locked onto Sian, his body poised to strike if needed.

It seed Jiao Liangchen shared the sa thoughts, standing silently with the crazy doctor at his side, both observing the two figures intently.

Sian paid no attention to his surroundings.

He couldn’t.

His mind was boiling with rage.

Seething with so much fury that he wanted to spill blood just to calm himself—though, thankfully, he didn’t.

"Those bastards..." Sian growled through gritted teeth.

Seeing his Gege’s eyes burn red with fury, He Jinyun hurriedly tried to calm him down.

"Gege, I’m fine. It wasn’t as bad as last ti. I’m fine."

What the foolish man didn’t realize was that his words only poured gasoline on Sian’s burning rage.

Last ti.

Yes.

Under the excuse of saving humanity and preventing extinction, those lunatic scientists dared to conduct human experints. Horrific and agonizing experints.

Of course, many had died. But if you asked Sian, he would say death was kinder than survival.

Because the "heroes" who survived and gained superpowers were subjected to endless torture and experints every day.

Not only were they forced to protect humanity, but after every mission, they were dragged back for further inhumane experints—all under the pretense of saving more lives and gaining more power.

But what about their own lives?

What about their souls?

Did they not deserve salvation too?

When so of them could no longer endure this existence, Sian and a few others rose.

They rebelled against the cruelty, against the rciless experints, against the scientists who treated them no better than cattle—or worse, soulless guard dogs.

Among the children subjected to these experints, He Jinyun was one of the few who had survived.

But he hadn’t lived long. His powers eventually consud and destroyed him during a battle with monsters.

Sian had been away at the ti.

By the ti he returned, he was t only with the cold, corpse of the child who had clung to him ever since Sian had saved him from the laboratories.

Sian despised those experints.

He loathed those who conducted them.

In his world, he had torn every one of them apart without rcy.

He had spared no one.

But now...

He hadn’t known that his little brother had suffered through that nightmare all over again.

The gemstones beneath He Jinyun’s eyes were proof—proof of new, unspeakable experints.

"I’ll kill them," Sian growled, his voice trembling with rage.

"I’ll tear them all apart—those bastards! How dare they start human experints again?"

"Brother, please calm down," He Jinyun pleaded, trying to hold Sian’s hands and soothe him.

He knew how much Sian hated this. And beyond wanting to hide the truth from strangers, He Jinyun hadn’t wanted to remove his mask in front of Sian because he had known—he had known this would be his brother’s reaction.

Sian looked deep into his eyes and said in a low voice:

"He Jinyun, who did this? Tell your Gege, hmm?"

He lifted his hands and cupped He Jinyun’s face tenderly, his fingers brushing over the golden jewels beneath each eye, his amber gaze filled with sorrow, his hands trembling ever so slightly.

"How could they make you go through this again...?" Sian whispered, his voice breaking.

"We fought so hard to bury those mories, to escape those tis... How dare they touch my people again? I’ll kill them. Tell who did this. Why do these cursed experints still exist in this world?"

Suddenly, as if rembering sothing crucial, Sian grabbed He Jinyun and sat him down on the nearest bed.

"Are your powers stable? Can you control them? Are you alright? Lie down and let take a look at you!"

"Gege, there’s no need, I’m fine. I control my powers using a special dicine—"

"Shut up," Sian snapped.

"What did I tell you last ti about using dicine, you idiot? Have all my teachings gone to waste? Lie down. Now. Let see if I can treat you and stabilize your stupid powers."

"Gege, you... you still have your powers?"

He Jinyun asked in astonishnt.
