Abyss Descent, the ninth month, midsection.

Because Alex Austin had died, the Creator Organization's invitation number 029 couldn't be sent out again.

These past few days, Lu Heng had been waiting for 027 to appear.

Not to call him out for his failure, but to clarify so things.

From Hasegawa Tom to Alex Austin, the targets of two consecutive invitations had died.

Initially, Lu Heng hadn't made sense of the connection, till he'd killed Alex Austin, only then did he start to catch on.

Seven days after the technology data theft incident, another full moon night arrived.

A pair of colorful and variegated pupils appeared beneath the moonlight, like a doodle first sketching out the eyes, then the form of a man and his cloak.

027's every appearance always surprised Lu Heng.

Because so far, he hadn't figured out how he could suddenly appear and then just as suddenly disappear.

It really was too peculiar.

His appearance was like an artist painting him into existence, and his departure as if being erased by a rubber.

Lu Heng had thought about this before and guessed that it might be so sort of illusion ability combined with spatial ability to create such a striking visual effect.

A single Skill seed incapable of this effect, at least not from mory.

When Lu Heng saw him appear, he took out the invitation letter and tossed it over, "Invitation failed, here's your invitation back."

027 caught the invitation letter and put it away without showing any signs of anger.

Lu Heng stared at those colorful eyes and asked, "Aren't you angry?"

"Do you need to be angry?" 027 asked a very strange question.

"Twice now."

"Yes, you've failed twice."

"Rather than saying I've failed twice, it's more like you did it on purpose."

"Oh? What wonderful associations have you co up with now?" 027's tone carried a hint of jest.

Lu Heng's eyes gradually sharpened, and he said with certainty, "At first, I thought it was just a coincidence, but after I killed Alex Austin, I realized.

"Hasegawa Tom and Alex Austin, you arranged them for on purpose.

"If you wanted to invite these two, you could've done it yourself.

"Especially with Hasegawa Tom. You have the Soul Capturing Monster, simply trading for him to join would've been effortless.

"Even given Hasegawa Tom's situation, he wouldn't need any conditions for the exchange. Just giving him an invitation would suffice.

"Yet, you didn't go to invite him yourself but handed the task to .

"The first ti, I took it as the first task for joining the organization, as a kind of test.

"The second ti, you knew full well I couldn't use the technology data to trade for Alex Austin's joining, but you still insisted I go.

"Once is happenstance, twice is definitely not. So your goal isn't to invite these two, but for them to die."

The Creator Club never had a rule that mbers must be invited sequentially.

Lu Heng's number was 028, and he was invited by 027 to join the Creators.

However, the organization had never stipulated that 029 must be invited by 028.

Any high-sequence mber could perform the invitation task, aning 027 could directly invite 029.

Or, a mber with an earlier number could do the invitation.

In this case, both prospects for 029 were ones Lu Heng didn't wish to invite, yet the invitation tasks were still assigned.

027's motives were definitely questionable.

After listening to Lu Heng's deduction, 027 let out a chuckling laugh, "You have quite the imagination."

Lu Heng focused on his eyes and pondered, "I'm starting to be curious about your identity."

027's laughter stopped, and he replied calmly, "Curiosity killed the cat."

Lu Heng took a step forward, closer to him, staring into his eyes, even considering whether he should strike to see what would happen.

At this point in ti, even if the other's Combat Power was very strong, it couldn't possibly be to an unmanageable degree.

027's mood sank, warning, "I advise you not to harbor such crooked thoughts."

Lu Heng scoffed, "You're using , twice at that."

027 took a deep breath, "Your task has arrived."

Lu Heng frowned. The previous invitation task had been reassigned by 027, but from his tone, this one seed like a formal task.

027's tone gradually beca more serious, "This is your first formal task."

"What is it? Tell ."

"Sikes Technology data."

Lu Heng's gaze sharpened at this task, not expecting this.

"I don't have a data backup here."

"I know, but that's not my problem, it's your formal task, and how you manage it is up to you."

"Which code initiated the task?" Lu Heng's eyes narrowed slightly.

"It's an official task, which ans it's formally issued by the organization," corrected 027.

"What if I can't complete it?" Lu Heng asked.

"The consequences would be difficult to say," 027 said with a hint of coldness in his tone.

Lu Heng's mind raced as he deduced key pieces of information.

First, the Creator Organization needed to acquire Sikes Technology data, and he could be sure that no one in the organization had this information.

That is, none of the 27 mbers before him had direct access to Sikes's technological data.

Now, those who could access this technology data were all in the Defense Science Academy, all deans, and pioneers of science and technology.

Moreover, even those at the dean level could not access all the data but just the part in their field of expertise.

The fact that the Creator Organization issued this task implied that none of those 27 people included the technological pioneers from the Da Xia Academy of Sciences.

Then the question arose, what does the Creator Organization want Sikes's technology data for?

Can the Creator Organization assimilate this technology?

Clearly, they couldn't.

This technology data covered all areas of a 1.6 Level civilization, let alone an organization.

Even Blue Star's largest industrial nation wouldn't dare claim they could completely exploit it.

So, what could the Creator Organization do with this data?

The answer seed clear, using it for trade was more likely.

For example, exchanging the data for a major figure's joining the organization, thus indirectly controlling a nation.

Or perhaps the Creator Organization wanted to acquire particular technologies.

Lu Heng wanted to clarify this and thus asked, "Even if I wanted to complete the task, I couldn't possibly get all the technological data. If I could only get a part of it, which field would you want?"

After a mont of silence, 027 answered, "The biological field."

Lu Heng was slightly surprised to hear this answer, "Sikes is a chanical civilization, and you're telling you want the biological technology data?"

027 replied calmly, "Sikes Civilization transford from an organic life civilization, their level of biotechnology was not low, it just stagnated after the transformation into a chanical Civilization."

A trace of amusent flashed in Lu Heng's eyes; he didn't really need to answer this question.

He was very familiar with the technological level of Sikes Civilization.

Sikes Civilization was indeed chanical, more precisely, in the late stage of a semi-chanical civilization.

During the transformation into a chanical Civilization, the biological technology would not co to an imdiate halt.

Therefore, even after Sikes Civilization had transford into a chanical Civilization, their biological field's technology would be at least at a 1.5 Level or higher.

So, it wasn't strange at all that the Creator Organization wanted to acquire biological field technology.

Hearing the more precise target, Lu Heng had more speculation in his mind.

Moreover, from his mory of his previous life, the Creator Organization indeed had high-level biotechnology and could provide its mbers with a lot of support in the biological field.

Especially in the area of biological pharmaceuticals.

Could it be that the Creator Organization's biotechnology in his past life had also co from Cyber World?

In order to replicate the biological field technology, the Creator Organization would need laboratories and biological pharmaceutical companies in that field.

An enterprise capable of digesting Sikes's biotechnology could not possibly be a small enterprise.

That ant there had to be a biological pharmaceutical enterprise within the top 50, or even the top 10 in the world, under the control of the Creator Organization.

Lu Heng, having been a mber of this organization in his past life, knew very well how it operated.

When the Creator Organization wanted to acquire power in a field, the most direct and effective thod was to invite a top figure from that field to join.

If they wanted to control one of the world's top 10 biological pharmaceutical companies, then inviting the actual controlling shareholder of that company would suffice.

No matter how complex the equity structure of this company was, there would eventually be a decisive person, just take down this individual.

This ant that among the existing 28 mbers of the Creator Organization, one should be the real controlling shareholder of a top 10 biological pharmaceutical company.

This narrowed the scope considerably. If one wanted to identify this individual by spending so ti, it was possible.

But even then, finding this person now wouldn't be of use.

Lu Heng's thoughts sped along when he suddenly said, "This task is too hard, I can't complete it alone, so I need your help."

027 experienced a montary pause at this invitation, surprised by Lu Heng's request.

But such a request was valid within the Creator Organization.

For tasks of such high difficulty, it was indeed very challenging for a single mber, and asking for assistance from other mbers was nothing but reasonable.

027's expression froze for a mont before he said in a deep voice, "You're doing this on purpose."

Lu Heng didn't deny it, shrugging, "Is it only okay for you to use , and not for to fight back?"

As 027 had thought, Lu Heng didn't really want his help to complete the task, but rather to drag him into it.

If the task was not accomplished later, it would not just be one person's issue anymore, the mysterious mber associated with code 027 would also need to take responsibility for the failure of the task.

If he really wanted to complete the task, it wouldn't need to be so complicated; Lu Heng just needed to visit Xavier Matrix again and get another set of data.

However, Lu Heng did not plan to execute this task, so he decided to drag 027 in as a scapegoat first.
