Chapter 986: Chapter 986 Argunt_1 Chapter 986: Chapter 986 Argunt_1 Jane McCain’s emotions were too intense to continue the questioning.

Aria Jackson and Allen Rivera had no choice but to have the police officers take Jane McCain away. Only the two of them, with heavy hearts, remained in the interrogation room.

“Sending a girl who’s just turned 20 to prison, Allen Rivera, you’re really sothing,” Aria Jackson couldn’t hold back her ire and snapped at him.

Allen Rivera said, “If that story is true, it’s basically her own confession of her cris, two lives…”

“But that is a story!” Aria Jackson arched her eyebrows high, eyes full of dissatisfaction, “These days she dares not sleep at night, even coming to my house for comfort. Do you think a cold-blooded dismbering maniac would be so cowardly? Don’t you know what kind of person she is?”

“Aria Jackson! I truly don’t know what kind of person she is, and I don’t know you, nor Purple Sumrs, and likewise, you don’t understand ! If every criminal could be seen through at a glance, there wouldn’t be so many tragedies happening every day in this world!” Allen Rivera’s face turned an iron blue as he said sternly, “Of course I’m aware Jane McCain is our friend, but we’re investigating a case right now, we cannot let emotions affect our judgnt!”

“Enough! Spare the sermons!” Aria Jackson was irate, “Allen Rivera! When I joined the detective force, you were still fussing over your credits at the academy! I don’t need you to teach how to do my job!”

“So you think it’s all a coincidence?” Allen Rivera’s anger flared as well, “Facing a life and death crisis, she could concoct such a logical story? In the story, Philly and his brother died, so in reality, two people actually disappear! And one of them matches the DNA found!

In the story, the victims all drank coffee, so in reality, caffeine was indeed found in the remains! This clue about the caffeine was never revealed to the public; only those who had seen the forensic report would know! How could Jane McCain have known that?!”

“There was no dismbernt in the story!” Aria Jackson retorted furiously, “Jane McCain was only sixteen at the ti of the incident! Do you think it’s possible for a young girl to dismber the bodies of two grown n?”

Allen Rivera roared, “I never said she was the killer! In fact, I’m not willing to believe she committed murder, but we must face reality! Aria Jackson, the evidence is right before our eyes, the only thing I can do is arrest her!”

Aria Jackson, with eyes brimming with anger, chose not to look at him anymore and lit a cigarette for herself, taking a hard drag.

Allen Rivera pinched the bridge of his nose, feeling equally vexed and anxious, “… Let’s not argue anymore. This won’t help her. Both of us know that Jane McCain’s character wouldn’t allow her to commit murder and dismbernt. The question now is why Jane McCain is so familiar with the details of that case; there must be sothing we don’t know yet.”

Although Aria Jackson was hot-tempered, she wasn’t one to act rashly out of spite and cald down upon hearing this.

“Could it be the storytelling club?” she asked. “Like at Purple Sumrs’ new house that ti, rolling dice to tell stories, Jane McCain might have subconsciously rembered soone’s story, and then, when faced with the Black Rose murderer, out of an instinct to save herself, she repurposed the story she had heard before.”

Allen Rivera said, “To get the judge to accept this theory, we need a witness. You go check Jane McCain’s friends, see if anyone attended gatherings with her and heard similar stories. I’ll look into Zane Matthew and Kyle Matthew, see if I can find any other leads.”

After deciding on their plan, they imdiately set out to take action.

Back at the Prosecutor’s Office, Allen Rivera was called into the office by his superiors. The attorney general inquired about the progress of the dismbernt case and when it would move to the court hearing phase.

“The date hasn’t been set yet, we expect it to be in the middle of next month,” Allen Rivera replied.

“This case is particularly vile and has been pending for several years now. The public is highly concerned. Try to close it soon.”

Allen Rivera fell silent for a mont, then replied softly, “Yes.”
