Chapter 984: Chapter 984: The Right to Remain Silent_1 Chapter 984: Chapter 984: The Right to Remain Silent_1 Jane McCain was holding her phone, her face flushed as she said, “I haven’t been sleeping well lately and want to stay at your place for a while, just don’t know if it’s convenient… If you have a boyfriend, staying over would definitely be killing the mood and affect your romantic interactions, I totally understand!”
Aria Jackson couldn’t help but laugh and cry at the sa ti.
This kid was thinking too much!
“Whenever you want to move, just co on over,” Aria Jackson said.
Jane McCain was overjoyed and kept thanking her, “Aria… Sister Aria, thank you so much!”
She was so excited her way of addressing her changed.
After hanging up the phone, Jane McCain imdiately started packing her things.
Ruby Spencer was astonished, “You’re moving now?”
“Ah, help pack my stuff!” Jane was anxious, wishing she could grow wings and fly to Aria Jackson’s place right away, “Hurry, my face masks, skincare products, toothbrush…”
After a whirlwind of packing, Jane McCain arrived at Aria Jackson’s apartnt by car.
Aria Jackson opened the door and saw Miss Jane McCain, dragging a bright pink suitcase, and was stunned for a good while before she could react.
“You got here fast…” Aria Jackson muttered.
She stepped aside to let Jane in and showed her around the room, “The conditions here might not be as good as your ho, not sure if you’ll get used to it…”
“I’ll get used to it!” Jane McCain imdiately said.
Aria Jackson smiled, “Stay for a few days and see if you get used to it. There’s 24-hour hot water, natural gas, though I usually don’t cook. The Wi-Fi password is my phone number. If you want to order takeout, there are nus at the door… I usually co back in the evening, and sotis I have to work overti for ergency operations, but you can call if you need anything, and it’s fine if you can’t find , both of my neighbors are my colleagues.”
Jane McCain was ecstatic upon hearing this.
Surrounded by police everywhere, she felt much safer!
“Alright, alright, Sister Aria, I won’t be a bother!” Jane McCain promised, “I can do the housework!”
Aria Jackson started to laugh, “Please don’t, if you clean too much, I’ll actually feel uncomfortable.”
“I understand!” Jane McCain said, eyes curved into crescents, “A little bit of ss adds life to the place, I get it!”
“Mhm, that’s the idea,” Aria Jackson nodded with a smile.
Aria Jackson lived in a two-bedroom apartnt. Originally, she and Suzanne Saunders were roommates, but after Suzanne moved out, the room had been vacant, and Aria had been living alone ever since.
Living alone was comfortable, but sotis she felt lonely.
Now with Jane McCain moving in, she could at least have so company.
Jane McCain stayed at Aria Jackson’s place for three days, sleeping soundly each night. She didn’t suffer from insomnia or nightmares anymore, knowing she was surrounded by police brought her imnse relief.
Seeing her slowly adjust, Aria Jackson was happy for her.
In the morning, on her way to work, Allen Rivera arrived at the police station and handed a docunt to Aria Jackson, “The DNA test results are in.”
Aria Jackson was taken aback, “What DNA test?”
“Philly’s brother,” Allen Rivera said expressionlessly, “The investigative team found him, and his DNA completely matches the victim’s from the catfish dismbernt case.”
Aria Jackson’s eyes widened, “Allen, that’s not funny at all…”
Allen was silent for a mont before saying, “Aria, we need to arrest her.”
“You know Jane McCain too, she couldn’t possibly be the murderer!” Aria found it hard to believe, “Are you sure? To arrest soone you know is innocent!”
Allen Rivera didn’t respond, his eyes fixed heavily on the test report in his hands.
Faced with a pri suspect in a murder case, an ergency arrest was imperative. It was the prosecutor’s duty, and Allen Rivera couldn’t ignore protocol.
An hour later, Jane McCain opened the door and saw Allen Rivera leading a few police officers standing outside.
She raised a smile, about to greet them, when the officers suddenly twisted her hands behind her back!
Jane McCain was stunned.
She looked at Allen Rivera.
The cold tal handcuffs clamped around her wrists, as an impassive voice reached her ears, “We suspect you are involved in a murder case and are arresting you on charges of first-degree murder. You have the right to remain silent, but anything you say can and will be used against you in court…”
