Chapter 676: Chapter 676: Twice_1

Purple Sumrs was both amused and frustrated by Allen Rivera’s frankness. After hanging up the phone, she thought to herself that Allen was obviously preparing to make her work for him!

However, what he said made so sense; perhaps the other party was just trying to make a show of mystery to capture her attention.

If that was really the case, it was actually not difficult to handle. Purple Sumrs could completely take a month’s sick leave and prepare for her exams at ho.

That woman nad Lindsay Carpenter, no matter how capable she was, surely couldn’t harass her by coming to the Sumrs Residence, right?

Purple Sumrs felt that things couldn’t be that simple.

The next day, Purple Sumrs made a point of getting up early. At 5:30 in the morning when the sky was just beginning to lighten, she slung her bag over her shoulder and left the house.

The person Alexander Sumrs had arranged was waiting for her outside the gate of Sumrs Residence. Purple Sumrs got into the car and went to the hotel where Lindsay Carpenter was staying.

The journey was smooth, and they arrived at the destination before six o’clock.

At this ti, the day shift staff at the hotel hadn’t arrived yet; the night-shift girl was dozing off at the front desk. Purple Sumrs led the n to Lindsay Carpenter’s room.

They knocked on the door, but no one answered.

They continued to knock, and then they heard a woman’s cursing voice, “Who is it! So early in the morning, can’t you let people sleep?!”

The door creaked open, and there stood Lindsay Carpenter, bleary-eyed, outside the door, staring blankly at Purple Sumrs when she saw her, frozen in the doorway.

“You… how did you get here?” Lindsay Carpenter gaped, utterly unprepared for Purple Sumrs’ visit.

Purple Sumrs smiled gently and said, “Didn’t you want my help? I ca to see what kind of trouble you had run into.”

After she finished speaking, she slowly walked in, leaning on her walking stick.

Lindsay Carpenter wanted to drive her out but was intimidated by the two n behind Purple Sumrs. She stood nervously against the wall, watching Purple Sumrs warily.

The odor in the room was unpleasant, with a strong scent of traditional dicine.

Purple Sumrs saw a simple electric stove and a small-handled milk pot on the table with traditional dicine residue left inside. It had already cooled off, likely leftovers from the previous night.

These days, not many people were willing to take traditional dicine.

“Are you sick? What illness?” Purple Sumrs also found several boxes of modern dicine on the table. The corresponding symptoms on the boxes were varied and the nas hard to understand, making it difficult for Purple Sumrs to determine what illness Lindsay Carpenter had.

Lindsay Carpenter hung her head in silence, gripping one arm with the other hand, a slight air of passive resistance about her.

Purple Sumrs laughed, “I was able to find out where you live; do you think I can’t find out what disease you have? Will you tell yourself, or shall I have soone go and check?”

Lindsay Carpenter was already feeling guilty from Purple Sumrs showing up at her door, and seeing the unpleasant expressions on the faces of the two n Purple Sumrs had brought, she didn’t dare not cooperate.

She awkwardly turned her face away and said, “Malignant tumor. Surgery is too expensive. I heard that drinking traditional dicine could make the tumor disappear, so I wanted to try it.”

Purple Sumrs nodded in understanding, “So, you’re in need of money? How much did the person who sent you to offer you?”

Lindsay Carpenter gave a sheepish smile and said, “Ms. Sumrs, you’ve misunderstood . I really ca to Clearwater for the lawsuit.”

The corners of Purple Sumrs’ lips curled up slightly, and she remained silent with a smile.

Lindsay Carpenter, fearful that Purple Sumrs wouldn’t believe her, continued to explain, “As you can see, my illness requires a lot of money to treat. As long as I win the lawsuit and get the compensation, we can split it fifty-fifty!”

“Don’t waste ti. Just tell , how much did the other party offer you?” Purple Sumrs said indifferently. “Aren’t you in need of money for treatnt? I can offer double; consider it a good deed.”

Upon hearing this, Lindsay Carpenter’s eyes rolled, and a sly gleam flashed in them.

“Really?” She was tempted but also skeptical.

In Lindsay Carpenter’s view, although wealthy daughters often lived lavish lifestyles, their spending money was actually limited. The stricter their family education, the poorer their pocket money was, although they never lacked anything at ho, hence they didn’t need money.

Lindsay Carpenter asked, “She gave thirty thousand. Can you really afford twice that amount?”

Before Purple Sumrs could reply, the two n in the room sneered, as if they had heard sothing utterly ridiculous.

“Thirty thousand? Are prices in Kingsley that low? Thirty thousand is enough to bribe soone to do a job.”
