Chapter 624: Chapter 624 Two Matters_1

“What do you need to ask him for?” Alexander Sumrs beca wary, narrowing his eyes at Purple Sumrs. “Are you so concerned about his whereabouts?”

Purple saw his face change and felt speechless.

She felt that Alexander Sumrs’s life was probably about two things: one, playing the rogue, and the other, endless jealousy…

“I just find it strange,” Purple explained. “He went to my school before he left, said so weird things to , and then his whereabouts beca unknown. Where he went, what he planned to do—don’t you find that curious?”

“He went to see you?” Alexander Sumrs’s gaze grew even more dangerous. “Does he often go to school to see you?”

Purple: “…”

It seed that the two were focusing on completely different things.

“…Forget it.” Purple, dispirited, lowered her head to read, not wanting to engage in a waste of ti.

But Alexander wouldn’t let it go, gently pulling the book from her hands, preventing her from reading further.

Alexander felt a deep sense of crisis. Before, he used to guard Purple fiercely, closely monitoring her, almost wishing he could watch her twenty-four hours a day. Later, as their relationship progressed, he stopped being so exaggerated in his supervisions.

It wasn’t that he appreciated her less once he had her, but rather because, first, Purple didn’t like being watched all the ti; and second, upon sensing Purple’s feelings for him, Alexander felt slightly more secure and had a bit more confidence.

A person only clings tightly to their partner, fearing they’ll run off with soone else the mont they look away, when they deeply lack security and have little confidence in themselves.

This anxious state of mind stems both from one’s own lack of self-confidence and from a lack of faith in their partner.

Alexander believed Purple had him in her heart, but when it ca to Nathaniel Sumrs, he was still sensitive.

“What did he say to you?” Alexander fixed a stern gaze on Purple, eyes full of scrutiny. “Did he specifically co to say goodbye, or did he want to elope with you?”

Purple’s rolling eyes almost reached the sky.

“If he eloped with , could he even get away?” Purple said, exasperated.

Alexander laughed, ruffling her hair. “Not bad, at least you’re aware of the reality.”

Purple pouted and wrested her book back from his hands, not wanting to deal with him.

Alexander picked up the fruit platter from the table, tasted a couple pieces, finding them quite good, and started feeding them to Purple.

The sunlight spilled through the lush foliage, casting dappled golden light, while beneath the tree, the two shared a mont—one eating, one feeding—the atmosphere was rather pleasant.

Seeing her cheeks puffed with food, Alexander couldn’t help but poke them, eliciting a fierce glare from Purple.

Her feisty look, to Alexander’s eyes, seed full of life and all the more adorable.

Alexander set aside the fruits and wiped the corners of her mouth with a napkin, then leaned back in the wicker chair like her, stretching his long legs out on the table.

Purple read her book, and Alexander watched Purple.

After a good while, Purple hadn’t turned a single page; annoyed, she looked up at him. “Can’t you go back inside? I can’t concentrate on a single word with you here.”

“Then don’t read,” Alexander said with a smile, taking Purple’s hand in his and leaning back comfortably. “Let’s chat for a bit.”

Purple felt guilty and took the sunshade from the back of the chair to cover their joined hands.

Alexander found her action too obvious, and though he wanted to tease her a bit, seeing her eyes dodging and seemingly genuinely afraid of being seen, he felt a softening in his heart.

“Purple, have you ever thought about finding your biological parents?” Alexander suddenly asked her.

Purple paused, taking a mont to think before she didn’t imdiately answer.

“It shouldn’t be difficult to find out who your birth mother is, but your father doesn’t seem to be from Clearwater, so it might be a bit troubleso,” Alexander said. “If we can find him, we can date openly in the future.”
