Chapter 1620: Chapter 1620

Lionel chuckled, “None of my business, none of my business, I’m just afraid I’d be overstepping?”

He lifted the lunchbox, “Boss, since you’ve already eaten, let have this? So it doesn’t go to waste.”

“Suit yourself.” Aria Jackson replied, not too pleased.

Lionel was unreserved, gobbling down the food, then patted his backside and left.

Although Aria disliked him, she hadn’t expected the guy to really not co back after leaving. The next day Lionel didn’t show up, guessing he was clever enough to think Hudson Chester would bring her food.

Aria’s lunch fell through, and her stomach rumbled hungrily.

Annoyed inside, she didn’t want to call anyone over, thinking they’d just co to laugh at her anyway.

The hospital had a caregiver, so Aria gave them several dollars, asking them to buy so food from downstairs.

“Buying food at this ti, you’ll have to wait…” the caregiver mumbled, taking the money and heading off.

Aria waited on the hospital bed for a long ti, too hungry to bear it, and opened the nightstand drawer and cabinet to find sothing to eat.

Inside the cabinet were fruits from colleagues who ca to visit her.

Aria took out an orange, unable to peel it with one hand, and then took out a peach, which was fuzzy and hadn’t been washed.

For the first ti in her life, she felt the pitiful side of being solitary.

When Hudson Chester ca to see her, she was sighing in front of a pile of fruits.

“Need a wash?” he asked, glancing around, “Where’s your caregiver?”

“Went to get food, it’s been almost half an hour and still not back.” Aria couldn’t help but complain, “The little eateries at your hospital’s entrance are doing too well.”

“Many small eateries closed down due to hygiene issues before, so now there’s a bit of a supply shortage.”

Hudson helped her put the fruits back into the cabinet, washed an apple, but found it not clean enough, and carefully peeled it with a small knife.

He washed the fruit knife first, dried it, then slowly peeled along the bright red skin, revealing the white flesh inside, clean and slick, without a drop of juice escaping, finally cutting it into small pieces, placing them in a disposable clear plastic food container before handing it to her.

“Have sothing to nibble on, I’ll go get you so food.”

Aria stared at the fruit pieces in the lunchbox, feeling they were all artworks, a little reluctant to eat them…

Seeing her not moving, Hudson thought for a mont, then realized, taking a toothpick from the table and stuck it into the fruit, “There, now you can eat.”

Aria: “…Thank you.”

“Half is enough, too much won’t digest well.” Hudson advised as he got up and left the room.

He had just co out of the operating room and hadn’t had a chance to eat, intending to reheat his own al and give it to Aria.

Looking at the familiar lunchbox in front of her, even with her straightforward nature, Aria felt a bit embarrassed, “No need… I’ve already sent the caregiver to buy food, it will arrive soon.”

“The restaurant food is greasy and has hygiene risks, you need to nourish your body now, better to eat mine.”

Hudson opened the food container, laying out the contents.

Perhaps because it was a man’s portion, the rice in the lunchbox was abundant, the dishes included one at, one vegetable, plus a soup. The variety wasn’t much, but the pairing was appropriate, giving a sense of refinent.

Aria thought, compared to Hudson, she really lived quite roughly…

“Do you smoke?” Hudson asked.

Aria was montarily stunned, turning her head to see him opening a drawer, seemingly about to put away the fruit knife, but instead saw the cigarettes inside the drawer.

“T-t-t-that was what Lionel left there!” Aria was panting heavily, “I’ve quit long ago! I know, you shouldn’t smoke when sick, right? I know, I know…”

Hudson nodded after a mont of silence, “Smoking is indeed bad.”

Aria awkwardly smiled, “I think I understand why Lauren Jones likes you…”
