Cherry was pulled along by Aria Jackson, still sowhat dazed, muttering as she walked, "So amazing, looks just like Nathaniel Sumrs..."
"Bullshit!" Aria Jackson snapped, "It doesn’t look like him at all! It’s all fake!"
The group hurried downstairs, and to their surprise, the bomb wasn’t installed yet!
Aria Jackson was anxious, "What’s going on?!"
The installation personnel took her to see, only to find black sticky ooze continuously seeping from the ceiling, too smooth and viscous for the bomb to adhere in two places.
Even with tape, they couldn’t secure it on the continuously leaking ceiling.
Aria Jackson was agitated, "Find other anchor points! Use ladders, anything, just install it quickly!"
At that mont, more people entered from outside.
Aria Jackson turned around in shock, seeing that it was Gavin Graves and two officers.
Cherry cheered, running over to hug Gavin Graves, but both were wearing bulky protective suits, hugging each other like two Michelin n, bouncing off each other.
Aria Jackson’s eyes widened, "How did you guys get in?"
The three were equally confused, Gavin Graves frowned and replied, "We heard you and Cherry shouting for help from outside."
Aria Jackson’s face turned completely dark, muttering through gritted teeth, "That creature..."
"Officer Jackson! Co over here quickly!" A SWAT team mber stationed at the staircase suddenly shouted.
Aria Jackson imdiately went over, with Gavin Graves and the others quickly following.
The black ooze on the stairs was increasing, initially just a trickle, now overflowing, streaming down in torrents—
At the sa ti, strange noises ca from upstairs, as if sothing was being bumped and was gradually approaching.
Clatter... clatter clatter...
Moissanite crawled on the floor, his entire body like lting black wax, slowly creeping down... The head on his back bore Nathaniel Sumrs’ face, surveying everyone downstairs expressionlessly.
Everyone was stunned by the scene.
No one expected it to co down.
Unexpectedly, no one knew it could move!
When first seen, it looked like a deford, limp creature, leading them to believe it had no mobility! But it had climbed down!
With every step it crawled, large blobs of the sticky black ooze gushed down, bringing countless corpses within the ooze, bumping against the staircase railing with thuds, flowing down together...
Aria Jackson’s face turned ashen, saying to the officers beside her, "Install the bombs directly under the staircase, quickly!"
The lower part of the staircase hadn’t been infiltrated yet, and once the installation personnel arrived, they started installing imdiately.
Aria Jackson cautiously raised her gun, wary of the witch’s movents, while slowly retreating, as did the others.
The witch’s face appeared intermittently.
The tendrils swayed gently.
Perhaps because everyone was wearing protective suits, the tendrils seed devoid of sensory perception, having lost their prey, extending aimlessly in the air.
Occasionally one brushed Aria Jackson’s pant leg, but retreated empty-handed.
A SWAT officer said to Aria Jackson, "Installation complete."
"Roger, now evacuate the personnel," Aria Jackson said, "The last one to leave is responsible for detonation."
The SWAT team mbers cautiously retreated, covering the swift evacuation of those installing the bombs.
The witch didn’t react, her eyes hollow and blankly fixating on Cherry, perhaps knowing that Cherry was different from the others here.
With Nathaniel Sumrs’ face, speaking in a croaky old witch’s voice, "Don’t you want him... Kill these people, and I’ll resurrect him for you... How about that..."
Kill these people...
In exchange for Nathaniel Sumrs, how about that?
Gavin Graves and Aria Jackson felt a chill in their hearts, silently taking half a step back, gripping their weapons tightly.
A dry corpse slid down the stairs to Cherry’s feet, along with the black ooze.
The corpse clutched a kitchen knife, poised as if in a final act of defiance.
Cherry was silent for a mont, picked up the knife, and turned—
Gavin Graves was startled, forcefully pushing Aria Jackson aside, the two dodging backward together!
