Chapter 1542: Chapter 1542: Leakage
Compared to right and wrong, businessn care more about maximizing their own interests.
Rather than spending years to train a new captain, it’s better to continue using soone familiar. It’s more reassuring when you know their background.
“He joined Under The Rose as an ordinary crew mber, striving for promotion while secretly contacting parents whose children had been victimized by the Stan Brothers. Not everyone has the courage for revenge; so hide at the re ntion of the Stan surna, while others, unable to withstand the blow, go insane…
In the end, he gathered a few people who, for the sake of revenge, specially learned combat and weapon skills. Later, when he was promoted to captain, he hired these people as waitstaff, doing inconspicuous work on the ship.
This ti, although a ticulous plan was made, he was also prepared to die. If anything went wrong, he would detonate the bombs, perishing together completely.”
Just the thought of those bombs left Purple Sumrs feeling lingering fear, and she sighed, “Luckily those bodyguards didn’t search thoroughly, otherwise if the ship had sunk, I’d have to die in the water again…”
She couldn’t even rember how many tis it had been.
Cherry wasn’t particularly moved, listening to Purple Sumrs’ murmurs while eating dried strawberries from a packaging bag.
Seeing her so carefree, Purple Sumrs couldn’t help but frown.
“While recovering in the hospital, you shouldn’t eat these random snacks! Gavin spoils you too much!”
“The doctor only said no spicy food, didn’t say no snacks.” Cherry said indifferently.
“Can’t you eat a little less? Eating too much can cause inflammation.”
“No.” Cherry pouted, “I need sothing to distract myself, otherwise my hand feels really painful!”
After speaking, she rembered that Gavin said her hand was gone and corrected herself, “I an, my arm feels painful!”
Purple Sumrs pursed her lips and asked, “When are you getting discharged?”
“Next week.” Speaking of discharge, Cherry’s face lit up with a smile, “In a few days, I can go ho with Gavin!”
Purple Sumrs felt that everything she had said before about won being independent was like playing the lute to a cow, all in vain.
She sighed and said, “Alright, you won’t be here for many more days, I should treat you well! Tell , what do you want to eat, drink, or need, and I’ll try to satisfy you.”
Cherry was not shy with Purple Sumrs, rattling off a list of demands, from costics to clean underwear and snacks and pastries to while away the ti, a whole lot of little things.
Purple Sumrs patiently noted them down.
“Oh, by the way.” Cherry rembered sothing else and stretched her right hand out to Purple Sumrs.
Purple Sumrs looked at her, puzzled, “What?”
“Help trim my nails.” Cherry said with a smile, “I can’t do it with one hand, it’s uncomfortable.”
Purple Sumrs: “…”
After a silent mont, she resignedly took out nail clippers from the drawer and started trimming Cherry’s nails.
The feeling was hard to describe. Seeing her cut off her own hand to save another’s child was truly heartbreaking, yet seeing her nonchalant smile was infuriating!
Thankfully, this ancestor would soon be gone, and Gavin could take care of her then!
As Purple Sumrs clipped her nails, Cherry spoke again, “Oh, and one more thing…”
Purple Sumrs said irritably, “You’re not going to ask to trim your toenails, are you?”
“No.” Cherry said, “I want to find soone to fix the ceiling in the hospital room; it seems to be leaking.”
Purple Sumrs looked up, “There’s no leak… If there was, there would be water stains.”
“It’s true, the past two nights, water’s been dripping on my face while I sleep!” Cherry stated firmly.
Purple Sumrs thought it unlikely, pondered for a mont, and roughly understood what was happening.
Seeing Cherry looking so clueless, Purple Sumrs almost wanted to laugh, but the mont her mouth opened, a sudden sadness ca over her…
Her heart tightened into a ball, uncomfortable…
Her peripheral vision swept over the arm wrapped in thick gauze, and Purple Sumrs sighed softly, saying nothing, and continued clipping nails in silence.
