Chapter 1436: Chapter 1436: What is Our Relationship?

Gavin Graves had gotten used to her sotis being as sly as a fox, and other tis as clueless as a fool.

“Yeah.” Gavin nodded slightly with an indifferent expression, “Sotis, to make the engraving look nicer, traditional characters are used, especially when the font appears sowhat thin.”

Cherry was overjoyed, “Exactly, exactly, his na does look thin!”

Before Gavin could ask further, she stood up and left the table, happily running upstairs, her steps making a clear thumping sound.

A mont later she ca thumping back down, now carrying a small white lady’s shoulder bag, and while running out she yelled, “Oliver! Oliver! I’m going out! Get the car ready! Get the car ready!…”

After a while, a lanky young man entered the dining room, bowing his head respectfully in front of Gavin.

This man was Oliver Augustus, the family driver.

Gavin leisurely cut into his steak, its outer layer sizzling with oil, its inside tender and red. It wasn’t actually overcooked, but he suddenly lost his appetite.

“Take a bodyguard with you, when you get there, follow her in and see who she ets, what she says, and get to the bottom of it all…” Gavin put down his knife and fork, looking up at him, “Did you get that?”

“Understood, sir.” The young man nodded.

Outside, Cherry’s voice urged, “Oliver! You’re so slow!”

Gavin said, “Go on, don’t keep the madam waiting.”

The driver obeyed and left.

Gavin picked up his wine glass, gently swirling it, letting the aroma of the awakened wine linger around his nose. He took a small sip, savoring it for a mont, before hearing the car engine fade away.

An inexplicable annoyance lingered in his mind.

After all, she was his wife, married through proper procedures, although the relationship was sowhat mixed with interest considerations, it wasn’t possible to be completely indifferent.

In the empty dining room, Gavin sat alone at the table, slowly smoking a cigarette, feeling a bit self-mocking, how was it that despite being married, he still felt like a loner?

A servant ca over to clear the table and asked, “Sir, should we save so food for the madam?”

Gavin smiled faintly and said, “Save it.”

Cherry returned ho at nine in the evening.

She didn’t even have ti to greet anyone, rushing straight into the bathroom upon arriving ho.

The driver reported to Gavin in full detail, “The madam went to the cetery, and inside, she started looking for a grave. She wouldn’t let us help, nor let us get too close. She stayed at a particular tombstone for about half an hour before leaving.”

Gavin asked, “Whose grave was it?”

“We kept our distance, noted the location, and after the madam left, we checked it out. The na on the tombstone was Nathaniel Sumrs.”

Gavin frowned at this, remaining silent.

Nathaniel Sumrs, wasn’t he the third young master of the Sumrs Family? Guilty of murder and on the run, later died abroad, it was Alexander Sumrs who arranged his burial.

How could Cherry possibly know this person?

But then… there were so many strange things about her, one more didn’t make a difference.

Gavin pondered as he returned to the room and sat for a while. Cherry ca in after showering, her hair dripping wet again.

Gavin instructed her to use a hair-drying cap.

She pouted and complained, “It’s so uncomfortable, like wearing a big club on my head!”

Gavin had no choice but to take a dry towel and help dry her hair; he really couldn’t stand her dripping water everywhere.

While drying her hair, he asked, “Where did you go today?”

“To the cetery, it was so scary! You wouldn’t believe how many mosquitoes there were, almost bit to death…” she rambled on.

Gavin couldn’t help but laugh, “You were the only living person there at night, who else would they bite? Why did you suddenly want to go to that place today?”

Cherry replied briskly, “Not telling you, it’s a secret!”

Gavin’s movent paused.

In the end, he felt sowhat relieved.

Actually, the way she handled things was quite good, speaking directly if she could, and not saying anything if she couldn’t. She neither beat around the bush nor lied.

Gavin released the towel in his hand, gently combing through her half-dried hair, which was black, thick, and shone with a beautiful luster.

He knew she was sowhat childish, but there were still things he wanted to make clear.

“Cherry, do you know what kind of relationship we have?”
