The personality often determines fate.
Atra Blanc’s personality is undoubtedly passive, and her fate is passive as well.
Simplicity and kindness are precious qualities, but weakness and timidity can be infuriating due to their lack of progress.
Old Master Sumrs didn’t have much ti left to wait for Atra to learn to be strong. After two more years on his sickbed, Old Master Sumrs finally passed away.
With the head of the Sumrs Family deceased, there inevitably cos the issue of inheritance distribution.
While the Sumrs Family was bustling with funeral arrangents, Janelle Roberts hired soone to quietly pry open Old Master Sumrs’ safe and obtained the will she had been longing for.
She didn’t open it right away but hurriedly took the will to Clyde Sumrs, placing it in front of him as if offering a prize.
"Son, look at this!" Janelle couldn’t hide her excitent, "It’s your father’s will!"
Clyde Sumrs appeared sowhat weary, having entertained relatives during the day and watched over the mourning hall at night, his eyes lined with fine red veins.
Seeing the will, his expression remained languid, and he said indifferently, "Are you so idle? What are you doing with this?"
"What kind of talk is that!" Janelle said anxiously, "This is a will! Of course, we should look at it in advance. What if the old man left the entire estate to soone else?"
Clyde Sumrs smiled, "Yes, all given to others, what can you do?"
Janelle’s eyes flickered, her voice lowered, "If the distribution is unfair, of course, we’ll have to make so changes to this will."
Clyde thought Janelle was ridiculously naive.
Although Old Master Sumrs was old, he wasn’t muddle-headed. There would certainly be other copies of the will, perhaps with family elders or with a lawyer. If anything in the will was altered, it would imdiately be discovered.
"Do as you please." He responded lazily, not wanting to bother with Janelle.
"How can you not be worried at all?!" Janelle exclaid, "The old man was so bewitched by that little vixen, and might have left everything to her!"
At the ntion of Atra Blanc, Clyde Sumrs showed a hint of interest.
He was indeed curious about how Old Master Sumrs, who went to great lengths to take her away, would arrange for her at the end of his life.
"Then open it and take a look." He said.
Janelle unsealed the docunt, quickly pulling out the contents and eagerly reading through it.
Upon seeing sothing, she covered her mouth, her eyes shining with a strange light, laughter slipping through her fingers: "Haha..."
She was so happy she almost lost her composure.
Clyde Sumrs furrowed his brow, took the docunt from Janelle’s hand, quickly browsed through it, and imdiately understood why she was so excited.
Regarding the inheritance distribution, 60% was left to him, while the other sons, Alexander Sumrs, Dylan Sumrs, and Nathaniel Sumrs only received a little over ten percent each.
And for Atra Blanc, only so fixed deposits were left, which didn’t amount to much.
Clyde held the will, speechless for a long ti.
How to put this feeling...
The lover you valued as a treasure was easily taken away by soone who didn’t cherish her. They used her, exploited her, made her do the dirtiest and toughest work, and once done, discarded her without any care.
At night, Clyde Sumrs walked out of the mourning hall to the garden to get so fresh air.
From a distance, he could see the small villa by the lake, illuminated with warm orange light, but he dared not go near because he didn’t want to hear her crying for that man.
She would surely cry...
So delicate and timid, she must be at a loss right now, truly pitiful...
Thinking so, Clyde returned to the study and made a phone call.
"...Set up a fund account for her and make regular monthly deposits... Hmm, transfer the money from my personal account... In whose na?"
Clyde Sumrs looked up at the frad photo of Old Master Sumrs on the wall and said, "In my father’s na, deposit this money for her."
In truth, Clyde misunderstood Old Master Sumrs.
The will’s deliberate slighting of Atra Blanc was because Old Master Sumrs knew Clyde resented past events and feared that his son harbored hidden grudges, so he didn’t leave much money to Atra.
In this way, Clyde would at least have sympathy for her rather than adding more hate.
