To be honest, Clyde Sumrs hadn’t climbed a tree since he was ten.

He matured earlier than his peers and felt that climbing trees was quite undignified, so he gave it up.

But now, standing under the tree, Clyde suddenly realized that if he couldn’t climb up, it would truly be a blow to his dignity...

Fortunately, today he perford exceptionally well.

Although there were a few tis when he almost fell, he gritted his teeth, driven by the strong will not to embarrass himself in front of his crush, and finally climbed up to rescue the cat.

When he got the cat in his hands, he noticed sothing was off.

This cat was too light, all bones under his touch, yet its fur was well-grood, clean, and fluffy.

Clyde Sumrs tucked the cat into his arms, hunched his back, and carefully climbed down the tree.

"Your cat seems a bit off," he said, returning the cat to Atra Blanc, and kindly reminded her, "Take a look, see if sothing’s wrong."

Atra held it in her arms, gently stroking the white cat, eyes downcast as she softly said, "It’s been sick, can’t eat anything. Every ti I try to give it dicine, it runs away. It happened again today..."

"No wonder it runs away, what cat would just swallow dicine?" Clyde Sumrs said, "You have to be firm with it, hold it tight, and get the dicine in!"

Atra raised her eyes to look at him, moved her lips, said nothing, and lowered her gaze again, silently smoothing the white cat’s fur.

Clyde thought for a mont, then laughed, "Isn’t there anyone to help you? With both hands holding it, you can’t feed it dicine, that’s tough."

"Everyone at ho is busy..." Atra said despondently, "And it might not even get better."

At that ti, there were no veterinary clinics, and people weren’t accustod to taking pets to see a doctor.

When pigs, horses, cattle, or sheep fell ill, people would hire a veterinarian to take a look due to economic interests, but for household cats and dogs, they mostly had to tough it out on their own.

Clyde Sumrs said, "I risked my appearance and life to climb the tree, paid such a high price, how can I watch it die? Co on, I’ll hold it and you give it the dicine."

With that, he ignored the cat’s wishes, picked it up directly, and firmly pinned down its limbs.

Atra stared at him blankly, not reacting for a mont.

"Hurry up already," he urged, "Aren’t you worried I’ll hold it down for too long and it’ll die?"

Atra’s expression turned a bit unpleasant as she opened the dical box, taking out the dicine while muttering softly, "What a mouth."

Clyde Sumrs chuckled, "You haven’t kissed my mouth, how would you know if it’s bad or not?"

Atra: "..."

She shouldn’t talk to soone like him! Always taking advantage!

...

After considerable effort, they finally got the dicine in. The cat was uncooperative, making huffing noises in its throat, trying to spit it out, but was pinned down tightly without success.

Eventually, perhaps it was out of strength, it stopped struggling.

Atra held the cat and slowly walked to the grassy slope, found a spot to sit, resting while soothing the cat’s mood by stroking its fur.

Having searched for the cat for so long, climbing up and down the tree, Clyde Sumrs was also tired. He lay down directly beside her, arms behind his head, looking relaxed and at ease.

"Pinky, be good... Pinky, don’t be scared... After taking the dicine, you’ll get better soon..." she murmured softly, her tone exceptionally gentle.

Clyde Sumrs lifted his eyelids, looking at her profile, listening to her voice, his expression showing great enjoynt.

"Why is your cat called Pinky?" he casually chatted with her, "I think it should be called Frosty, it’s entirely white, nothing pink that I can see."

"Here," Atra turned, bringing the cat closer and pointing to the white cat’s pinkish nose, "Look, it’s pink."

Clyde Sumrs: "..."

Atra gently pried open the cat’s mouth, revealing a small part of its pink tongue, "This part is pink too."

Clyde Sumrs’s expression seed to say: Are you kidding ?
