Chapter 1370: Chapter 1370: A Woman’s Scheming is Truly Terrifying
Atra Blanc glared, about to get angry, when Clyde Sumrs quickly grabbed her hand and said, “Don’t make a sound, listen carefully, is it my imitation of a cat’s ow?”
Atra, blushing, tried to pull her hand back, but her strength was no match for his. Clyde held her hand tightly, pressing it against his lips—
Her hand was firmly held, and she could vaguely feel the outline of his lips through her palm. His warm breath spread over her hand, both itchy and hot, making her terribly embarrassed.
She could not break free, so she could only bite her lip and glare at him in sha and annoyance.
He provocatively winked at her, raising an eyebrow. His odd, comical expression was both infuriating and irresistibly amusing.
What a rogue.
With her face flushed, Atra turned her head away, refusing to look at him.
Faintly, a soft cat’s ow was heard, and Atra instantly held her breath.
She looked in the direction of the sound, waited silently for a few seconds, and then heard the familiar cat owing again.
Only then did Clyde release her hand and say, “See? My lips didn’t move just now, right?”
“You’re childish.” Atra, embarrassed, withdrew her hand and quickly walked toward the direction of the cat’s ow.
Clyde watched her flustered back, gently touched his lips, still feeling the soft touch of the girl’s palm, with a hint of fragrance.
A pleased smile appeared on his face. He looked up, squinting at the dazzling sunlight spilling through the fresh green leaves, taking a deep breath and then exhaling fully, feeling incredibly refreshed and exhilarated.
This spring is truly wonderful…
…
A man and a woman stood under the tree, looking at each other in silent misunderstanding.
Though neither spoke, their expressions were very different.
Clyde leaned against the tree trunk with a lazy, leisurely deanor.
Atra, on the other hand, bit her lip, looking at Clyde with an anxious and aggrieved face.
“Um… can you…” After holding it in for a long ti, Atra finally couldn’t help but speak, “Can you help get Pinky down?”
A white cat had climbed up the tree and couldn’t find its way down, helplessly owing from above.
“Sure,” Clyde agreed readily, “But promise one thing, and I’ll help you.”
Atra bit her lower lip, looking at him resentfully.
Probably doubting Clyde’s character, suspecting he’d set an unreasonable condition, Atra ultimately gave up asking for his help.
She anxiously looked up again, calling out, “Pinky, Pinky? Don’t be scared, co down quickly!”
The cat was curled up at the top of the tree, trembling.
Atra pondered for a mont, placed her dical kit under the tree, and climbed onto it, feeling a little taller but still clueless about how to climb further.
The cat’s cry was soft and pitiable, with a wailing quality like it was crying. Atra bit her lip, feeling she was about to cry too.
Feeling heartbroken and wronged, she climbed down from the dical kit, hugged her knees, and squatted down, sulking.
“Atra?” Clyde ca over, squatting beside her, “Atra, are you crying?”
Atra ignored him.
Clyde asked, “Really crying? Say sothing, Atra? Atra?”
Atra kept her head lowered, turning slightly, still ignoring him.
“Atra?… Miss Atra? Miss Blanc?… Little Baby? Sweetheart?”
“I told you not to call that! Not to call that!” Atra, unable to bear it any longer, raised her head and yelled at Clyde, “You’re too much! You’re awful!”
Clyde stared at her, muttering, “Oh, so you’re not crying… but your eyes are red…”
Atra bit her lip, unwilling to let others see her in a pitiful state, burying her head and hugging her knees, ignoring him.
Clyde quietly watched her.
After a mont of silence, he said, “I think you’re doing it on purpose, forcing to call you sweetheart before you’ll respond to . The sches of won are truly terrifying.”
“You!…” Atra was nearly fuming, not even knowing how to retort, “You’re shaless!!!”
“Okay, if you’re no good at arguing, save your strength.” Clyde shrugged his shoulders and neck, slowly moving to the tree, “It’s just climbing a tree, wait there.”
