Chapter 1189: Chapter 1189 (‘ – ‘)_1

The days passed by, one after another, calm and uneventful.

Purple Sumrs felt that not being driven mad by such days was a testant to her extraordinary willpower.

There was a minor incident in between.

A crow flew nearby, circled above the roof a few tis, then settled on the courtyard wall.

The snow’s whiteness made its jet-black feathers particularly noticeable.

Nathaniel Sumrs shot at the crow but missed; the crow lost a few feathers and flew away with a loud caw.

The crow had no white feathers on its head; Purple Sumrs wasn’t sure; perhaps it was Tiny’s offspring, or maybe just an ordinary crow from around here…

Then she thought that since Alexander Sumrs had already sent Tiny and the others to Pearlpoint, it made no sense for them to suddenly appear in Kingsley. Thus, Purple Sumrs’s mind was eased.

But Nathaniel took it to heart.

After the crow flew away, Nathaniel started to leave early and return late, as if preparing for a move.

This was no easy task. One couldn’t stay in hotels, rent or purchase houses, and even private transactions required vigilance against betrayal while ensuring absolute safety and security at the new dwelling.

Whenever Nathaniel went out, only Purple Sumrs and Cherry remained at ho.

Purple Sumrs thought that this might be the only chance she would get.

She patiently waited until this afternoon when the weather was excellent, the warm winter sun shining on the gleaming white snow, everything in sight sparkling brightly.

She looked up at the sky for a long ti, then turned to the living room, where Cherry was quietly sitting and watching cartoons.

Purple Sumrs silently put on her coat, wrapped herself in a scarf, followed by gloves, a hat—dressing from head to toe—and approached Cherry, trying to appear as calm as possible.

“I’m going out,” she said.

Cherry blinked in surprise, glanced out the window hesitantly, “Now? …But it’s still early; why don’t we go out later?”

“Now,” Purple Sumrs insisted. “It’s cold and gloomy at ho; I want to get so sun while I can. It will be very cold later on.”

Cherry reluctantly looked at the cartoon, not very keen on going out, but Nathaniel had instructed her to take good care of Purple Sumrs since, after all, if her health failed, there could be no talk of pregnancy.

Cherry sighed heavily, slowly dressed herself in a cute and warm red cloak dress, then opened the door and went out with Purple Sumrs.

The sunlight was particularly brilliant today, reflecting off the snow and shining piercingly bright.

Cherry frowned and put on the hood of her cape; the wide brim shielded most of her face and protected her from the sun.

She wasn’t afraid of sunlight, but she was more accustod to the dark—the overly bright environnt made her uncomfortable.

Purple Sumrs gave her a covert glance.

Cherry had a human body as a disguise, but those ghost shadows didn’t; surely there had to be so constraints when they were exposed to the sunlight…

Purple Sumrs walked silently ahead, taking a leisurely stroll as usual.

Cherry followed closely step by step behind her.

As they approached other houses, Cherry urged, “Let’s go back; we can’t go any further.”

Although Purple Sumrs was allowed to go outside for walks and fresh air, there was a range constraint; Nathaniel didn’t allow her to go beyond a certain limit, and Cherry took Nathaniel’s words as sacrosanct.

“I’m tired,” Purple Sumrs said, not moving forward or back, just stopping in place. “Let’s rest for a bit before walking back.”

Cherry frowned slightly and waited for her on the spot.

Purple Sumrs squatted down, picked up so snow from the roadside, and ford a snowball, into which she stuffed a hard stone.

Cherry watched curiously.

Purple Sumrs stood up with the snowball, silently psyching herself up, aid at a distant target, took a deep breath, and threw it with all her might!—

Bam!

The snowball landed in the doorway of a house, shattering on impact, and the stone bounced out.

Purple Sumrs looked disappointed.

She had deliberately put a stone in it but still did not throw it far enough. Her intended target had been the glass window of that house.

Yet within two seconds, intense barking erupted from the courtyard!

Purple Sumrs’s heart skipped a beat, and she saw a muscular brown Tibetan Mastiff charging out of the yard, barking furiously and running straight toward them!
