October, the second month of Purple Sumrs’ internship.
With nearly seven months of pregnancy and cooler weather necessitating thicker clothes, Purple felt a heavy weight each day, pressing down on her until she felt like she could scarcely breathe.
The number of bodyguards and vehicles accompanying her had doubled, and a dical staff mber was added to the team just in case.
Atra Blanc told her that she had a strong constitution and didn’t need to worry, just to stay calm and wait for the delivery.

The bodyguards guarded Purple as they moved towards the courthouse. Julian Shaw, upon receiving the news and fearing that she might be in danger, quickly called in a few bailiffs to escort her.
“How could this happen?” Purple asked as she walked.
She was utterly shocked.
As a prosecutor, she had handled quite a few significant cases; as a lawyer, she had experienced many controversial cases. She had been interviewed by reporters, appeared on TV shows, and was used to making headlines, but—
Never had a case drawn such a massive crowd of onlookers!
…Why?
Compared to those murder cases, this was a trifling issue. Why such a fuss?
Julian stood by and said, “In one’s lifeti, it’s unlikely to encounter extortion or robbery, and serial killers, even less so. Sotis, cri is too far removed from people’s lives, but who doesn’t have a pet?”
From childhood to old age, in the course of a lifeti, who doesn’t have at least one pet? There are very few, right?
After escorting Purple to the entrance of the courtroom, Julian patted her on the shoulder, “Pet rights are increasingly intertwined with human lives, so give it your all.”

Milton Fletcher was the defendant in this case, the murderer of the dog.
The judge had agreed to hear the case on the condition that only one witness could be called. After much deliberation, Purple rejected the college student’s kind offer and also let go of the notion of having the old lady testify. She chose the defendant.
Direct, swift, and the clearest way to let the jury see the truth.
