Chapter 1081: Chapter 1081: Plea Bargain_1 Chapter 1081: Chapter 1081: Plea Bargain_1 Purple Sumrs felt a headache coming on.
She sat down in front of Norton Young and told him, “Five years, that’s the plea agreent from the prosecution.”
“…Five years?” Norton’s body swayed, seemingly in disbelief, “I haven’t done anything… and they want to lock up for five years?”
“The evidence is highly unfavorable to you, and the victim personally identified you as the perpetrator.” Purple sighed again, “Norton, as much as I want to help you, under these circumstances… I think the risk of going to trial might be even greater.”
Norton froze, staring blankly at Purple, “So… you’re suggesting I accept the agreent, five years?”
Purple pursed her lips and said, “I’ll go talk to them again, try to get it down to four years… ”
“No!” Norton suddenly beca agitated, his face flushed red, “I won’t plead guilty! I never touched her!”
“Norton, calm down,” Purple frowned, “This is just a plea bargain. As your lawyer, it’s my duty to inform you of the prosecution’s offer, and I must also tell you about the risks of going to trial. Think it over carefully, then tell your decision.”
“No… there’s nothing to think about.” Norton bit his lip, his head shaking softly in a murmur, “I will never admit to sothing I haven’t done…”
Purple took a deep breath and slowly exhaled, “Alright… we’ll prepare for court. I’ll start by talking to the officer who arrested you.”
She stood up to leave.
“Purple.” Norton stopped her, “Do you believe ?”
Purple stood by the door, looking at him, her heart tangled and conflicted. After a long silence, she finally said, “I believe you, Norton.”
Norton seed to breathe a sigh of relief and once again said to her, “I swear, everything I’ve told you is true, I didn’t touch her.”
Purple nodded and left the eting room.
She found the officer, got a rough understanding of the case, and felt even heavier.
Emotionally, she was inclined to trust Norton, but… faced with the testimony and evidence, that trust was hard-won.
As darkness deepened, Purple left the police station, her mind heavy as she returned ho.
The bedroom light was on, casting a layer of warm golden light on the floor through the slightly ajar door.
She paused for a mont, then quickly realized that Alexander Sumrs had co ho.
A smile imdiately lifted Purple’s face, and she walked briskly into the bedroom where, indeed, she saw Alexander sitting on the edge of the bed with an impatient look.
“My dear wife, coming ho this late, is that appropriate?” Alexander looked at her darkly, his face devoid of any smile.
Purple wasn’t the least bit afraid of him and approached with a beaming smile, wrapping her arms around his neck and planting a kiss on his lips.
“What ti is it now?” she asked with a laugh, “When did you get here?”
Alexander huffed coldly, “Ten o’clock. I’ve been waiting for you for an hour.”
What he ant was that he had been ho since nine.
Purple quietly calculated in her mind – accounting for the ti on the road and on the flight, Alexander must have left Pearlpoint City around five or six, probably without even having dinner.
“Have you had dinner?” Purple hung on him, swinging and cooing, “I’m so hungry, have a bite with … ”
Alexander glanced at her sideways, his voice cool, “Coming back so late, you haven’t eaten?”
“I went out to et a classmate.”
“A male classmate or a female classmate?”
Purple hesitated for a mont, “…A male classmate.”
Suddenly everything around her seed to spin—
The next instant, she was pinned beneath Alexander.
“Purple.” Alexander ground his back teeth, “It seems when I’m not around, you’re quite naughty… ”
Purple opened her mouth to explain, but seeing the frustrated look on Alexander’s face, she strangely wanted to tease him.
“Get off .” She pretended to be uncomfortable, “What if you hurt the baby.”
Alexander abruptly stiffened, his expression cracking in an instant.
