"Of course, there is. If what you say is true and those more powerful wandering spirits decide not to co out, wouldn’t entering the space now be like walking into a lion’s den? If we can wait for the Immortal Spring to open on its own, there’s no need for us to go in prematurely."
Everyone’s eyes turned expectantly toward Kenny Lin, but he remained silent, refusing to speak.
Renshu Chang imdiately looked to Amalia for help.
Amalia sighed helplessly and said, "In two days, the Immortal Spring will open. By then, even if we choose not to enter, the spirits inside will certainly co out."
"So you’re saying that as long as we don’t go in, we can control the situation on our terms?" A collective gleam lit up the eyes of the group as they quickly grasped the implications.
"Exactly," Amalia nodded her head lightly.
"But how do you know the Immortal Spring will open in two days?" a man of little presence suddenly asked.
Kenny Lin shot him a sharp glance, sneering, "You’ve killed so many wandering spirits, and you never thought to interrogate any of them?"
The comnt left everyone looking sheepish.
"We did interrogate them, but those spirits have iron wills—they wouldn’t say a thing."
"Then it just ans you’re incompetent," Kenny Lin retorted, managing to offend a large number of people with just a few words.
Deciding it best to shift the topic quickly, Jinwoo Zhang of the Artifact Refining Valley sect spoke up, "I think they make a good point. Since the wandering spirits value the Immortal Spring so highly, we should turn the passive situation into an active one."
Amalia suddenly glanced at Jinwoo Zhang and said, "I feel like I’ve seen you before."
Jinwoo Zhang was about to respond when Kenny Lin’s eyes widened, glaring at Amalia.
I was just joking earlier, wasn’t I? I didn’t an it! But here you are, already making jealous!
After glaring at Amalia, Kenny Lin turned his fiery gaze toward Jinwoo Zhang, eyes filled with hostility.
Jinwoo Zhang, utterly baffled by the sudden animosity, rubbed his nose awkwardly and said, "So you rember after all. I thought you’d forgotten about ."
"He’s the one we t back in Skyward City—his na is Jinwoo Zhang," Amalia explained calmly.
"That’s right, my na is Jinwoo Zhang," Jinwoo Zhang confird with a casual smile.
Seeing that foolish grin on Jinwoo Zhang’s face, Kenny Lin finally rembered. "Oh, it’s you. No wonder you’ve been staring at this whole ti."
Jinwoo Zhang’s face was filled with embarrassnt. He had assud the others would still recognize him after their previous encounters. However, seeing that they didn’t seem to acknowledge him, he hadn’t dared to approach or speak to them, rely stealing a few glances before being caught.
Only after their conversation ended did Jirandal Tang say, "If no one objects, we’ll wait here."
"I agree."
"So do I."
The group voiced their agreent one by one, except for one person who hesitated.
"Are you thinking of telling Mino Pei?" Namjoon Tao asked.
His sect had already split into two camps due to differing opinions. Though disagreents were frequent, Jinwoo Zhang, being from the sa sect as Mino Pei in Artifact Refining Valley, didn’t want to see him walk into danger. No one could guarantee that there weren’t Body Integration stage wandering spirits beyond the Heavenly Hall.
"Yes, I am," Jinwoo Zhang nodded. "After all, we’re from the sa sect."
"Even if you tell them, they might not believe you," Yunse Qiao remarked.
"I know." Jinwoo Zhang understood this well, but at least he would have fulfilled his duty as a fellow disciple by warning them.
"Let him go," Kenny Lin’s voice suddenly cut in.
Everyone imdiately turned around to look at him.
"Do you know why the wandering spirits are so certain that the Gold Token is in the hands of disciples from the Green Lotus Sect and the Eternal One Sect? They don’t even consider that it might be with another sect."
"Isn’t it because Green Lotus Sect and Eternal One Sect are the first and second largest sects on Mystic Void Continent? Their assumption makes sense. Besides, the Gold Token isn’t even in Eternal One Sect’s hands," Jiae Yao said.
"You an soone intentionally leaked the information to the wandering spirits?" Yunse Qiao imdiately caught on.
"I interrogated a Soul Formation stage wandering spirit. It revealed that their king t with soone. After that, the king ordered them to capture disciples from the Green Lotus Sect and Eternal One Sect."
"So, Eternal One Sect’s involvent was a ruse, ant to confuse us and hide the truth!" The group’s expressions darkened.
"What benefit would be eliminating Green Lotus Sect and Eternal One Sect bring them? It seems far more harmful than beneficial," soone muttered.
"Does this an there’s a traitor among us?"
Seeing the group start to panic, Jirandal Tang intervened, "Not necessarily. It could also be soone from the Earthly Hall."
"I understand what Martial Uncle ans now," Seongwoo Jin said, turning to Kenny Lin. "You want Jinwoo Zhang to inform Mino Pei, which effectively spreads this information to Temujin Lei and his people. If the traitor is among them, they’ll likely encourage the others to enter the Immortal Spring. This will help identify who the mole is, right?"
"That’s about it," Kenny Lin replied. Then, his lips curled into a faint smile. "Of course, this plan assus that no one leaves this main hall."
"Exactly. If they have an accomplice who escapes to tip them off, the plan will fail," soone chid in.
Jinhwa Hou and Taeseon Lei exchanged a glance, then moved in unison to the entrance of the main hall, each taking a position on either side of the only exit.
"In light of the fact that the target appears to be Green Lotus Sect, from now until the Immortal Spring opens, no one is allowed to leave this hall. Does anyone have objections?" Seongwoo Jin asked with a smile, his gaze sweeping across the group.
