Inside and outside the battle circle, silence reigned, broken only by the sounds of breathing. Most eyes focused on the victor.

Everyone watched as Amalia calmly retrieved her naplate from the stone slab and returned to the Green Lotus Sect. Her face betrayed no excitent or triumph at having defeated Jiheon Yang; it was as if she’d rely gone through a minor formality.

"This disciple has an exceptional temperant," Hayeon Ren’s master, who rarely spoke, murmured in quiet admiration, surprising her.

"Where did the Green Lotus Sect find soone like her?" Fairy Girl Ahyeon Xuan remarked, her eyes fixed on Amalia. Sensing the gaze, Amalia briefly glanced back, her eyes eting the elder’s for less than a breath before she looked away with a calm, faint smile.

"Master, who exactly are you talking about?" Hayeon Ren asked with genuine curiosity.

"You’re still new to fa, so you wouldn’t have heard of her. She was called Tian Wuya. In those days, she and Master Lian were the peerless duo of the Mystic Void Continent. Countless people admired them, and just as many man and won wished to marry them, but alas..." Fairy Girl Ahyeon Xuan laughed softly.

Hayeon Ren was stunned. This was the first ti she had heard her master speak in such a nostalgic tone, almost as if there had been a deep connection between them in her youth.

Amalia’s challenge had ended, though so within the Green Lotus Sect still couldn’t quite grasp what had just transpired. After finishing her exchange with Kenny Lin, she walked off with her sword.

"Now, I believe I still have a second challenger, don’t I? Among those who challenged before, who’s left?"

Standing in the center of the battle circle, Kenny Lin’s gaze swept over the crowd with bold arrogance, his powerful aura radiating out.

He had used two incense sticks’ ti to fully restore the spiritual energy he had consud.

Was Seonho Ming weak? Not at all. But having seen his defeat, several of the prodigies at the peak of the Soul Formation stage were no longer so sure they could win.

"Now, who else still wants to challenge ?" Kenny Lin looked, half-smiling, at those who had previously challenged him.

Several prodigies exchanged quick glances.

In response, a group of them stepped forward—all among the strongest of their sects.

Though he’d defeated Seonho Ming, it had been a tough fight. The outco of this next match would not be determined by his last victory alone, especially since he had looked sowhat ragged by the end and had sustained internal injuries.

Among them were Temujin Lei from the Extre Sect, Dayeon Xinyue and Wonji Hong from the Divine Maiden Sect, Hori Cheng from Beast Tar Valley, Mino Pei from the Artifact Refining Valley, Yunse Qiao from the Light Demon Sect, Dongjian Zhao from the Demonic Night Palace, Hanjun Wangye, the Mystic Void Continent’s top beauty, and several others, including the wild cultivator Chohwan Jin and Haneul Bai.

"If you have the courage, pick ," Temujin Lei said, glaring coldly at him, fully aware that Kenny Lin wouldn’t choose him, but provoking him nonetheless.

Kenny Lin sneered, raising his sword to point in one direction. "You. Step forward."

To everyone’s surprise, he had chosen Dongjian Zhao, who was montarily stunned before delight took over.

The others couldn’t hide their jealousy. Why had he picked Dongjian Zhao from the Demonic Palace Sect? Everyone knew that the sect mbers were far from virtuous.

If the Gold Token fell into his hands, the Demonic Palace Sect would certainly go to any lengths, even silencing people to secure its benefits.

"You made the right choice," Dongjian Zhao said, stifling his excitent as he approached Kenny Lin, a wicked smile revealing his crimson lips. "As ’thanks,’ I’ll make sure your death is painless."

With his delicate, handso face, one would never guess that this seemingly gentle-looking man was a ruthless demonic cultivator.

Kenny Lin raised a brow in apparent discomfort, as if suddenly regretting his choice.

"Why did Martial Uncle choose Dongjian Zhao of all people?" Renshu Chang asked, unable to hide his surprise at the choice.

Amalia who is standing beside him glanced over and asked, "Is there sothing wrong with Dongjian Zhao?"

"Nearly every disciple from the Demonic Night Palace is evil people," Renshu Chang replied. "And Dongjian Zhao is among the worst of them. His master, Elder Liugong—the black-bearded, blue-robed elder who is leading the Demonic Night Palace team—is a notoriously shady cultivator. No one knows how many heinous acts he’s committed in secret. If there were any evidence against him, he would have been punished long ago."

Following Renshu Chang’s gaze, Amalia looked over at the man in question and indeed she could see his insidious aura.

Seongwoo Jin, who had been eavesdropping on their conversation, interrupted impatiently, "Junior Brother Chang, you’ve said a lot without getting to the point. Elder Liugong’s greatest skill lies in ensuring that all his dark plots and cruel thods are directed solely at the devils."

Renshu Chang, undisturbed by the interruption, nodded his head. "That’s true. The devils are seen as abominations by cultivators throughout the Mystic Void Continent. Acts against them don’t cross any moral boundaries within our world. He’s very clever and scheming—and Dongjian Zhao, his disciple, takes after him. Dongjian Zhao’s favorite pasti is torturing devils, often in grotesque and brutal ways."

Seongwoo Jin shot a cold glance at Dongjian Zhao. "While I appreciate beauty, I don’t need it to survive like he does. If Dongjian Zhao can’t torture devils, he practically loses his mind."

Amalia raised a curious eyebrow. "Have you seen him do it?"

"Of course," Seongwoo Jin replied. "People like us frequently go to devil battlefields for training or assignnts. I’ve personally seen him slaughtering devils on several occasions."

His gaze turned icy, and Amalia, who usually saw him as laid-back, was surprised by his seriousness.

"He may not openly harm human cultivators, but with a temperant like that, would he really hold back if a conflict arose? I wouldn’t be surprised if many human cultivators have secretly died by his hand."
