"You’ll see when the ti cos," Elder Bon said with a mysterious smile, then changed the subject. "They should be coming out now."
With a wave of his hand, Amalia and Kenny Lin opened their eyes. They didn’t have ti to talk about the formation insights they had gained before being transported out.
For a mont, everything went dark, and when it brightened again, they saw Elder Bon and Tan Kai standing before them.
"Are you interested in learning formations with ?" Elder Bon asked directly.
Amalia was taken aback. "Are you talking to us?"
"Is there anyone else here?" Elder Bon replied.
Amalia looked at Tan Kai, who was smiling. She then said, "I’ve already taken a master, so I’m afraid I can’t learn formations with you."
"You don’t need to take as your master. You can just co to learn formations with whenever you have free ti," Elder Bon explained. "You know, my grandson isn’t interested in formations at all. The other disciples at Yin And Yang Peak are talented, but compared to you two, they’re far behind. Even if they had ten years, they might not understand the simplified version of the Heavenfall Annihilation Formation."
"This ti was just luck..." Amalia started to explain but was cut off.
"The fact that you understood it shows your talent and strength. As an Artificer, you should know how important formations are to refining. To be blunt, if you study with , you’ll eventually have the ability to refine true divine artifacts. Otherwise, even if you had all the thods for making divine artifacts in front of you, you still wouldn’t be able to do it. Refining divine artifacts isn’t just about talent. A solid foundation is key, and I think you know your foundation isn’t strong enough. You still lack experience, and that’s your biggest flaw," Elder Bon said, even though he had never seen Amalia refine anything, he could instantly identifying her weakness.
"To fix that flaw, you’ll need more than just ti—you’ll need to learn more about formations. Right now, you’ve only just begun."
Tan Kai glanced at his old friend, amused. Elder Bon was even spouting nonsense just to convince them to study formations. So, this was his plan all along?
Formations are an essential part of artifact refining, but it’s not as easy as he makes it sound.
Experience isn’t sothing you can just gain by studying formations. Mastering formations can reduce the chance of failure and improve the quality of magical artifacts, but it doesn’t replace experience.
Tan Kai glanced at Amalia, who remained calm and composed. It was hard to tell what she was thinking—whether she believed Elder Bon or not.
Amalia had realized one thing: the elders of the Green Lotus Sect had a habit of speaking seriously while trying to fool people.
Earlier, Elder Pugong from the back mountain had tricked her into not using the top-level spiritual cave for cultivation.
Now, Elder Bon was also trying to fool her, speaking in a convincing manner. If she were truly inexperienced with artifact refining, she might have believed him.
"Elder Bon, there’s no need to say more. When I have ti, I’ll co and learn from you," Amalia interrupted.
Elder Bon, without missing a beat, asked, "Are you serious? Don’t you need to inform your master?"
"No need. As long as I don’t take you as a master, I don’t think my master will object. After all, this will only benefit , not harm . I’ll inform her when I return," Amalia replied with a smile.
"Good, good, good," Elder Bon nodded happily. He didn’t have to persuade her too much—his reputation still carried weight, it seed.
"And what about Kenny Lin?" Elder Bon looked at Kenny Lin, who didn’t seem interested. He didn’t use the sa persuasion tactics with him.
Seeing this, Tan Kai shook his head internally. The argunt that worked on Amalia wouldn’t work on Kenny Lin. Judging by his expression, Kenny Lin didn’t seem that interested in formations.
"Fine," Kenny Lin said, lifting his gaze slightly.
"Great! After the Path of All Immortals, you both can co to Yin And Yang Peak to find ," Elder Bon said with joy.
Tan Kai couldn’t understand. Why did Kenny Lin, who clearly didn’t want to go, agree?
"If there’s nothing else, we’ll head back now," Amalia said, bowing slightly. Although she was of the sa rank as the two elders, she still respected them.
"Go on, go on," Elder Bon said cheerfully, his face full of smiles.
Amalia smiled and left the back mountain of the main peak with Kenny Lin.
"I don’t understand. You said you had a way to make Kenny Lin agree, but I didn’t see you do anything," Tan Kai said as soon as they left.
Elder Bon chuckled, stroking his beard. "What did I do before I asked him?"
"You just convinced Amalia," Tan Kai replied. Then, it hit him. "No way, are you saying that if Amalia agrees, Kenny Lin will too?"
Elder Bon nodded. "You’ve guessed it."
Tan Kai looked at him skeptically. "But how did you know that if Amalia agreed, Kenny Lin would as well?"
Elder Bon laughed heartily. "Finally, sothing you don’t know! I heard this from my grandson. He set up so kind of money-lending business, and to get his father to agree to guarantee it, he ca to ask for help. That’s when I learned from him that he’s connected with them. Amalia and Kenny Lin even lent him 100,000 top-grade spirit stones as capital. From my grandson’s words, it seems Kenny Lin listens to Amalia for everything. So I figured if Amalia agreed to learn from , Kenny Lin would follow. I tried it, and it worked!"
Tan Kai sighed after hearing this. "I’ve heard they have a great relationship. When Amalia beca the disciple of Senior Tian Wuya, it was said that Kenny Lin argued for her, and only then did Master Lian agree. I didn’t expect their bond to be this strong."
