Qing ixiang giggled sheepishly.
Sect Leader Qing couldn’t stand it anymore. "You’re a girl! Can you stop laughing like that? It’s so unladylike! People might think you’re a street thug. You don’t act like a sect leader’s daughter at all."
Qing ixiang pouted.
"Pouting too?" Sect Leader Qing scowled.
Qing ixiang imdiately put on a sweet smile and quickly knelt beside her father. While massaging his legs, she said, "Dad, I want so of the Golden Solarian Tree fruits too. Can you give a few?"
"What for? You’re not even going to participate in the Path of All Immortals," Sect Leader Qing replied calmly. "These fruits are for the other disciples of the sect. They’re the foundation of our sect. You’re not."
"Dad, that’s hurtful! I am your daughter, after all. Don’t I get any special privileges as the sect leader’s daughter?" Qing ixiang pretended to look heartbroken.
"Well, it’s too bad. The sect leader’s daughter doesn’t get any special privileges," Sect Leader Qing said with a snort. "If you could carry the weight of the sect’s future like your senior brothers, one responsible for the sect’s prosperity and the other being the hope of our sect’s strength, then maybe. But what are you doing? Focusing on love and romance for the sect? Aren’t you ashad?"
"If you have to say it that way, there’s nothing I can do," Qing ixiang said, holding back laughter. She didn’t really mind.
"I bet you find this funny," Sect Leader Qing grumbled, knowing his daughter all too well and exactly what she was thinking.
"So, are you going to give them to or not?" Qing ixiang pressed, pouting again.
"I’ll give you so, but you’re not allowed to go to the All Immortals Event," Sect Leader Qing said firmly, laying down his condition.
"Why not?" Qing ixiang said, looking frustrated.
"Because your dad is the sect leader, and the sect leader’s word is final. Take it or leave it."
"Fine, fine. I’ll listen to you," Qing ixiang quickly gave in but thought to herself, We’ll see if you can actually stop from going.
Sect Leader Qing smiled as he handed her three Golden Solarian Tree fruits, thinking to himself, When the ti cos, I’ll just lock you up and see if you can go.
Father and daughter both had their own plans, equally sneaky.
That day, after the Golden Solarian Tree fruits were handed out, many of the younger disciples in the sect began to go into seclusion to boost their skills. So had been stuck at bottlenecks and used the fruits to break through to the next level.
Amalia and Kenny Lin also went into seclusion not long after they returned.
However, even without them, the Green Lotus Sect remained as lively as ever.
...
Three days later, in the small cabin on Naless Peak.
Sitting on the bed, Amalia slowly opened her eyes. Outside, the light rain had been falling for a while, but now it had stopped making any sound.
Suddenly, a golden little doll flew in from outside. Except for its size, it looked exactly like Kenny Lin, with the sa face and expressions. The golden doll circled around Amalia a few tis, then smugly sat cross-legged on the stone table, looking at her with a mischievous grin.
"Your soul?"
Amalia knew that a soul could leave the body in the Soul Formation Stage. This was her first ti seeing Kenny Lin’s soul.
A few seconds later, the golden doll flew outside and, at the door, re-entered Kenny Lin’s body.
"In just one month, you’ve reached peak Nascent Soul Stage?"
Kenny Lin’s eyes scanned Amalia up and down.
"Reaching the peak Nascent Soul Stage is already good enough. How about you?" Amalia wasn’t too disappointed. Even though she hadn’t broken through to the Soul Formation Stage, she was satisfied that she had done what she promised to Arasen Xiao.
Kenny Lin shrugged, "Mid Soul Formation Stage. Three Golden Solarian Tree fruits weren’t enough."
"It was forced growth, not like natural progress. Being able to achieve this is already sothing to be happy about." Amalia had expected this result.
Kenny Lin moved closer with a grin, "Can I see your soul?"
"What are you planning to do?" Amalia gave him a look.
She hadn’t reached the Soul Formation Stage, so her soul couldn’t leave her body. For him to see her soul, his spiritual sense would have to enter her dantian. However, the dantian is the most vulnerable part of a cultivator’s body. Everything else, even ridians, could be strengthened, but not the dantian. That’s why cultivators never let anyone’s spiritual sense or anything else enter it.
"I want to see what you look like if you were shrunk down a few dozen tis." Kenny Lin grinned mischievously. "If we had a kid, would they look like this?"
Amalia choked for a second, knowing he wasn’t going to say anything decent. "I’m going out for a while. You can stay here or go back to Upper Nine Peaks if you want."
"Where are you going?" Kenny Lin asked right away.
"I’m going to see Arasen Xiao. I made an agreent with him before going to the Nether Ghost Abyss Realm. There’s only about a month left until the Path of All Immortals, and I don’t have much ti."
Amalia briefly explained the simplified version of the Heaven’s Destruction Formation.
"I’m coming with you. I want to study the Heaven’s Destruction Formation too," Kenny Lin said.
"You want to study it too?"
"Of course! As a powerful sword cultivator, how can I not know formations?" Kenny Lin said seriously. "After all, I’m the man who’s going to surpass my master soday."
Amalia’s lips twitched into a slight smile. "As long as you’re happy. Let’s go together then."
As they stepped out of the cabin, the rain had indeed stopped, which was a rare event on Naless Peak.
Amalia had lived here for a long ti, and this was the first ti she had seen the rain stop on Naless Peak.
