Back at the courtyard, she relayed this information to Kenny Lin.

"In the next few days, I’m going to Fruit City No. 1 for training. Do you want to co?" she asked.

Kenn Lin still savoring the feeling of suddenly realizing that there’s sothing wrong with his life experience.

He hadn’t even had half a minute to process it when he threw out another question in dissatisfaction.

"Why don’t you ask what I think?"

Amalia shrugged, "Alright, what do you think then?"

Kenny frowned again, "You’re not very sincere. I feel like you’re just brushing off."

Amalia fell silent for a mont, "Are you sure you want to answer?"

"Forget it. You’ll probably just say, ’Since I already know this, why would I hurt myself by saying it?’" Kenny wearily waved his hand.

"In that case, what’s the point of talking about it? We’ll leave tomorrow morning," Amalia said while turning around with a smile.

Indeed, he didn’t need her comfort.

If he needed soone to comfort him, he wouldn’t be Kenny Lin.

The next day, when it was ti to leave, the three elders knew that Amalia and Kenny Lin were going to the disaster zone again.

Before they could leave, the elders stuffed Amalia with many things.

By the ti they finished, Kenny Lin was already out of sight.

After so thought, she went to the main house of the Lin family.

The Lin family’s Head was not ho this morning, but the servants all knew Amalia.

"Did Kenny Lin co back this morning?"

Amalia asked the senior servant at the main house.

The old servant replied, "Fourth Master did co back, but after he went to the backyard, he hasn’t been seen for an hour."

He then pointed in the direction of the backyard.

"Is the backyard where the ancestral tablets of the Lin family are placed?" Amalia asked.

The old servant was a little bit surprised, "Yes."

Amalia nodded her head knowingly, "I understand, thank you."

The old servant remained calm, as if used to this.

Amalia walked to the backyard and soon found the room where the ancestral tablets were placed.

In an inconspicuous corner, she reached the doorway and saw Kenny Lin standing motionless in front of several rows of tablets.

Kenny Lin’s mother’s ashes were scattered in the main disaster area, but her tablet had always been kept here.

Mr. Lin didn’t taken it away.

"Do you know why they placed my mother tablet here?" Kenny Lin suddenly spoke.

Amalia hadn’t expected him not to notice her presence, "Because your mother is also a mber of the Lin family."

Kenny Lin’s figure suddenly exuded a hint of lancholy.

Amalia couldn’t help but chuckle.

"Speak properly," Kenny Lin turned around and catching the sight of her smile.

Amalia shrugged her shoulder and said, "I always speak properly. In front of our ancestors, can’t you be a little bit more serious?"

Being accused of not being serious, Kenny Lin sighed deeply, "They thought that by setting the ancestral hall in such a place, I wouldn’t discover it. But I found out about it a long ti ago."

"After discovering it, what are your thoughts?"

If Amalia had a microphone, she would have held it out for so good gossip.

"Ify mother really wanted to kill , the others wouldn’t have had no reaction at all. Why did she think that by altering her son’s mories, she could fool a genius like ?"

So much ti had passed that Kenny Lin no longer felt much about his mother.

Call him emotionally detached, but now he was just curious.

Expecting him to speak properly was impossible, and Amalia no longer demanded it, "She probably never imagined, when you were a little over two years old, that her son would grow up crooked."

Kenny Lin sighed helplessly, "Forget it, I won’t talk to you anymore."

"That’s fine, it’s ti to leave. Or are you planning to stand here a little bit longer?" Amalia said.

"No, standing here this long won’t brought her back to life. It’s pointless," Kenny Lin quipped out of habit.

Amalia thought for a mont as if rember sothing and said, "If standing in front of the tablets could bring the dead back to life, I’d be willing to stand here forever."

Kenny Lin walked over and put his arm around her shoulder, "Then I’ll stay with you."

The two of them chatting as they left the Lin family residence.

After gathering their belongings, they headed directly to Fruit City No. 1.

Midway, Amalia suddenly received a ssage from Kenny Lin’s third brother, "Third Brother says we shouldn’t go to Fruit City No. 1 and should head to Fruit City No. 2 instead. The situation in Fruit City No. 2 is more serious than he expected and they need manpower now."

"Why did he only ssage you?" Kenny Lin protested slightly when he noticed that he had no new ssages on his communicator.

"Then will you reply to him?" Amalia asked calmly.

Kenny Lin thought for a mont, realizing that any answer would likely be t with sarcasm, so he remained silent.

Amalia had anticipated this, "Be considerate with your brothers’ feelings. It’s not easy for them too. We’re family; try to show so respect."

Kenny Lin pouted, "I’m used to it, but I’ll try."

Amalia felt sorry... for his family.

It was clear that the Lin family’s Head and the others were accustod to this—how many tis had they been through such treatnt to make it a habit?

The two changed course to head to Fruit City No. 2.

It was farther from the royal durian capital city, so they took more ti.

Fruit City No. 2 was not as lush as Fruit City No. 1; it was barren, and the entire city could be seen from a distance.

Since the last battle, Fruit City No. 2 had beco much more desolate.

The ground was pitted with battle scars, and the city walls had just begun to be repaired.
