“Oh, a totem then. In that case, there’s nothing we can do. We will just have to wait for Radiad to die of old age before we take action,” the cloak creature said slowly and then turned and drifted away.

It was not until he had drifted far away that Leixinna muttered under his breath, “Damn it, this Hayden is becoming less and less humane.”

Cabrela spread his hands and said nothing, but continued the previous topic, “If we can’t use the Starburst Array to threaten it, then we must find sothing it’s interested in to exchange for Radiad. Tell , what could interest a tree?”

Leixinna, with a headache, said, “What could it be interested in? It’s not likely to be interested in the opposite sex, and even if it were, we couldn’t possibly find another Tree of Life. Power, status, food, entertainnt, all are unlikely; it’s probably most interested in fertilizer, I guess.”

Cabrela slapped his thigh, “Exactly, that’s it.”

“Which? Fertilizer?” Leixinna was astonished.

“Not sure about fertilizer, but fertile land certainly interests it, right? We could use fertile land to exchange for Radiad,” Cabrela suggested.

“Fertile land? Would that work? This place used to be the Northern Wind Desert, but look now; it’s miles of fertile land with forests growing all over. Everywhere it goes becos fertile land. Does it still need to trade?” Leixinna questioned.

Cabrela suddenly beca less confident and hesitated, “Well, shall we try? We’ll find a place not covered by the Starburst Array, so it doesn’t have to worry about us blasting it and can peacefully return Radiad.”

“Is there such a place?” Leixinna was surprised.

“Do you rember the Broken Star Mountains on the edge of the Dead Line?” Cabrela asked.

The towering mountain range blocked the Starburst Array; however, it did not reach the death line, so the large expanse of wilderness between the death line and the mountain range beca an area neither threatened by Star Burst Magic nor within the death line.

“Is it there? Shall we try?”

The airship, upon receiving the order, quickly descended to relay the ssage. Initially approaching with a tentative attitude, Radiad was unexpectedly released on the spot.

After a thorough inspection, it was confird that Radiad was fine physically, ntally, and spiritually. Even the garland around his neck was gone, but it seed he had forgotten sothing—all the mories from the mont he touched down to when he was lifted into the air by vines and declared ‘all right’ were missing.

Lainas asked worriedly, “Will there be any side effects?”

Lainas felt much more relieved; if even Cabrela’s Eye of Truth saw nothing, then it was highly likely there was nothing.

Radiad nodded. “I don’t feel anything amiss either. With Divine Power’s protection, it couldn’t do more than that. That’s fine, I need to go back down.”

“What? Go back down? Are you mad? We just rescued you with great difficulty, and you want to go back?” Lainas said.

“Yes, I want to go back. In fact, it wasn’t you who rescued ; they let go. The compensation you offered didn’t interest the God of Life at all; wherever it is, that place is fertile ground. Also, do you rember the plan I told you about? Everything I need is there,” Radiad said earnestly, staring at Lainas.

Lainas gasped, “Everything?”

Radiad, apologetically, bowed and said, “I’m very sorry, Eye of Truth, but since it involves privacy, I can’t reveal it to you. Please don’t take it personally.”

“Hmph, then I don’t care anymore,” Cabrela said as he floated away with a flick of his hand.

Radiad patted Lainas on the shoulder and then floated out, leaping towards the valley below.

Lainas was left in disarray. After all that trouble and wasting a Holy Light Singularity and a fertile plain, he got nothing in return? Wasn’t that too much of a loss?

Back at the Life Sacred Pool, there was only Lord Durken left; Lainas couldn’t rember anyone else ever being there, only Lord Durken.

“Lord Durken, I’m back. The materials? Give the materials quickly. If I can resurrect my teacher, the Sorcerer Alliance will then have two powerful Annihilation Warlocks,” Radiad said impatiently.
