Chapter 1595: Chapter 1156: After the Fight, We’ll Have the Holy Spirit Army

Soul Energy and Holy Power, in essence, both belong to the realm of spiritual forces. In theory, they can be converted into one another.

But theory is just theory. In practice, the two are diatrically opposing forces. When Soul Energy strikes a holy body, it causes bonus damage, and when Holy Power strikes the Undead, it too inflicts bonus damage.

Although, under Ange’s Divine Power System, the bonus damage of Holy Power against the Undead has been nullified, the two still remain absolutely distinct energies. For the Little Angel to simply embrace them lightly and convert Soul Energy into a Holy Spirit Angel—this is truly miraculous.

But then again, what is the Pope’s job? Isn’t it precisely to find faith-based explanations for such miracles?

The Little Angel embodies the Supre Holy Spirit, and Ange is the Lord of the God of Light. Their every action is a miracle. The Pope’s duty is to provide a ‘rational’ explanation for every single one of their actions.

And this ‘rationality’ cannot be factual. For instance, if Ange enjoys farming, you can’t just tell the believers ‘because he likes it.’ Instead, you must say: The Lord shows compassion for mankind, personally tilling the land and laboring by his own hand. Every grain is imbued with the Lord’s blessing. Believe in him, love him, follow him, and the Lord will bestow sustenance…

Well then, it’s now up to Anthony to devise a plausible explanation for this miracle and record it into the Holy Code.

“Holy Light flashes through the darkness, purifying the filthy. From the ashes of death, a sacred soul is born. Let’s call it Ash Ascension. What do you think?” Not bad for the Pope, who ca up with this after rely a few seconds of consideration.

“You’re saying the Undead are filthy?” The Monarch glanced at him sideways.

“Oh no, no, no! Fierce Spirits are evil! Pure souls are invaded and twisted into vile Fierce Spirits. Holy Light flashes and purifies the evil. From the ashes arises a pure Holy Spirit. From corruption to purity, Holy Light purges all.” Anthony frantically waved his hands and continued to brainstorm.

Given that he was currently allied with the Undead, the old propaganda of saring the Undead to glorify the curia’s holiness could no longer be used. A new approach was now necessary.

The Monarch nodded in satisfaction. That was better.

The newly ascended Four-Winged Angel expressionlessly drew the Angel’s Sword and slashed at the nearest Fierce Spirit. Its movents were nimble, clearly displaying the traits of a seasoned battle weapon—just like the Little Angel.

Apparently, this ascended Four-Winged Angel inherited the Little Angel’s combat experience and martial techniques. With ease, it carved a gash into the nearest Fierce Spirit.

The wound emitted a faint Holy Light, occasionally accompanied by streaks of blue-white Sacred Fla, which clung stubbornly to the Fierce Spirit, refusing to extinguish.

The Sacred Fla seared the Fierce Spirit, causing it to let out maddened roars as it recklessly lunged at the Four-Winged Angel.

The Four-Winged Angel flapped its wings and retreated, maintaining its distance. With every flap of its wings, a few feathers shot out. In the ga of advance and retreat, it was almost as though the Fierce Spirit was throwing itself onto the feathers, enduring blow after blow from the assault.

The feathers that landed on the Fierce Spirit ignited like matchsticks, bursting into blue-white flas and releasing wisps of black smoke into the air.

The Fierce Spirit howled, shrieked, and roared in agony, desperately trying to catch the Four-Winged Angel, but the Angel maintained just enough distance, toying with it like flying a kite.

If this continued, the Fierce Spirit would undoubtedly be consud over ti. Unfortunately, a Great Axe radiating Holy Light cut in from the side, cleaving the Fierce Spirit in two with a ferocious strike.

The Little Angel charged in, hoisting the Great Angel’s Staff over her shoulders. The staff’s two wings resembled twin axe blades, making it double as a… well, an axe.

Uh, after Durken’s modification, it could now double as an axe. Previously, the Little Angel had broken it once. After the modifications, it now featured an integrated handle and reinforced steel casing, making it sturdy and razor-sharp.

“Let’s coat it in crystal later to further harden the surface,” Durken thought as he watched, already envisioning further upgrades.

The Little Angel split the Fierce Spirit in two, then lunged forward and darted between the two ‘halves’ of the creature. With a mighty spread of her wings—

The Fierce Spirit, being a Spiritual Body, wasn’t killed just by being sliced in two. Yet when the Little Angel swept through with her wings, the spirit was instantly shredded into pieces, obliterated beyond repair.

Of course, the Little Angel’s wings turned more than half black, sizzling and smoking as they did.

After vanquishing the Fierce Spirit, the Little Angel turned and let out an annoyed “rawr” at the Four-Winged Angel.

The Four-Winged Angel gave an expressionless nod, then turned and charged at another Fierce Spirit. This ti, it didn’t evade but instead confronted the creature head-on, bringing its great sword down in a direct strike.

The Supre Holy Spirit found its previous approach inefficient, so it could only go all out this ti!

The Little Angel shrieked excitedly, swinging the Great Angel’s Staff as she followed close behind. The scorched feathers on her back quickly regenerated with the flicker of Holy Light.

Behind her, the Fierce Spirit that had been fragnted to pieces turned to ash, settling into a small pile on the ground. Once the ashes gathered to a certain amount, they suddenly ignited with a spark of Sacred Fla.

This spark of fla rapidly spread throughout the entire pile of ash, and with a swoosh, a new Holy Spirit unfurled its wings as it erged from the ashes.

“Anthony, is this not a miracle but rely a technique? She can convert one Fierce Spirit into one Four-Winged Angel? By the ti the battle’s over, wouldn’t we have an entire army of Four-Winged Angels?”

Though the Supre Holy Spirit’s every move was technically a miracle, the sacred hymns couldn’t describe it like this. Miracles were supposed to be rare. They couldn’t treat the Little Angel’s Holy Light Flash like a miracle—because whenever she got the chance, she’d unleash it recklessly, unstoppable.

“It seems that’s her plan. She’s teaming up with the Four-Winged Angel to work collaboratively. Being overly aggressive consus too much energy, and she’s probably afraid Ange will smack her for it.”—Nagri.

“Uh, and this doesn’t count as aggressive? The second Fierce Spirit was almost entirely worn down through attrition,” Anthony quipped helplessly. Her wings were burned nearly halfway, and that’s considered not consuming a lot?

Nagri sighed weakly. “Not enough for her.”

Indeed, the Little Angel—if Ange weren’t restraining her—would probably want to face off against the Monarch himself.

The Monarch hesitated and said, “Does this an we shouldn’t help? She’s capable of handling it herself, but I also want to fight.”

Anthony quickly responded, “Your Majesty, rest assured. The enemy’s main forces haven’t moved yet. Think about this: why would they haul hundreds of Mourning Malevolent Spirits such a long way over? They undoubtedly have a significant plan. And what could they be targeting here? The only thing here is the Undead City with its hundreds of thousands of sentient Undead inhabitants. Your Majesty, their aim must be your citizens.”

The Monarch scowled. “Is this the nonsense you usually spew to manipulate others? Get to the point.”

“Heh, force of habit, force of habit.” Anthony rubbed his nose awkwardly. “These Fierce Spirits are fragnted and mindless. Fully using their power is no easy task, which ans the enemy must have another card to play. Please conserve your strength for when that mont cos.”

As Anthony worked to persuade, on the other side, the Star Progeny Master’s hands trembled as the Wraith he held thrashed frantically, crying out, “What do we do? What do we do? They’re converting all my Soul Energy! Let out so I can take a bite!”
