Chapter 1507: Chapter 1068: We, the Crystal Dragons, Are Innocent

Ange captured the Little Ghost and brought it back. Lilianna didn’t notice any of this. After everyone had taken a tour around Crystal Lake, they left. She seed unaware that there was sothing else hidden in Crystal Lake.

That night, within the pitch-black Crystal Lake, a speck of light flickered inside a crystal stone — lighting up montarily, then extinguishing, only to reappear flickering within another crystal stone. It appeared to jump freely between the crystal stones, as if gleefully and unrestrained.

But the next mont, the entire space around it suddenly froze. The light was trapped within the crystal stone, and a wave of panic emanated from the light’s presence.

A tendril of thought extended out gently, grasping the crystal stone. With a slight pinch, both the crystal stone and the light inside vanished.

When it reappeared, it had been transported to an empty area. Surrounding it were flat grasslands, with a boundary stone in the middle and several humanoid beings gathered around it.

“So this is the thing? For this thing, I had to rush and prepare a temporary Farm Barrier?” Durken asked in confusion.

Negris responded, “Yes, according to Ange, it can freely jump between those crystal stones, even landing on the scales of those Crystal Dragons. If we don’t isolate the space, it’s almost impossible to catch it.”

“Even with the Farm Barrier, it’s still hard to capture. If it weren’t for the Lord’s space solidification holding it down, it would’ve jumped sowhere else before we acted. Truly unlucky to encounter the Lord, its nesis,” Anthony added.

“What on earth is this thing? Why does it feel sowhat similar to the Source of Water?” Silver Coin asked, rubbing his palms.

If it were like the Source of Water, that would be a fortune. Just thinking about how anything it contaminated could have invisibility like the Crystal Dragons made it clear it’d sell like crazy.

“It is similar. Let’s call it the Source of Crystal. However, unlike the Source of Water, which has lost consciousness, this Source of Crystal surprisingly possesses consciousness. A bit naive, though. Just created, perhaps?” Negris speculated.

Anthony asked suspiciously, “If there was only a Source of Water before, it could’ve been called a random occurrence. But now there’s also a Source of Crystal—might there be other sources? What exactly are these things? How were they created? Why is their contamination so strong?”

Durken said, “This Source of Crystal doesn’t have strong contamination. It only affects the scales of dragons. Maybe dragon skin is just too thick to be contaminated, or there’s so other reason. We’ll test it later.”

Ange imdiately reached out and began grabbing handfuls of crystal stones. As the stones fell to the ground, the grass beneath quickly crystalized and crumbled, leaving the ground covered with crystal fragnts. Slowly, clusters of crystals erged, resembling saltpeter.

The Farm Barrier being new and undeveloped farmland didn’t bother Ange, who continued sweeping his hand to collect more stones.

However, pulling them out one handful at a ti proved too slow. The Little Ghost popped out from his fingers, let out a couple of yelps, and dove down Ange’s hand.

Ange’s consciousness imdiately projected out to see what the Little Ghost was up to.

Sure enough, within the entire lake, every crystal stone began to glow. Starting from a single crystal, the light ignited and radiated out to surrounding stones, which in turn illuminated others nearby. Like a chain reaction, the entire lake of crystal stones lit up nearly instantaneously.

At the sa ti, Ange heard the voice of the Little Ghost. With a sweeping hand, countless crystal stones poured out through the space rift Ange had pierced — shimring with dazzling radiance, flowing like a rushing river of light.

The crystal stones spread over the ground in a flood, coating the entire Farm Barrier like a luminous carpet, beautiful and resplendent.

Once there were enough stones, Ange pinched his fingers together, closing the space rift and halting the river of light. All that remained were crystals scattered across the ground, shimring and shifting light within them.

Finally, all the light within the crystal stones compressed into a single entity. The Little Ghost erged from the cluster and approached Ange, spitting out a tiny speck of light: “Aw—”

Ange tilted his head.

“Hah, it tried to escape but got captured by you? Little Ghost is impressive!” Negris marveled, seemingly understanding the Little Ghost’s intention.

With a little “Aw,” the Little Ghost once again nestled onto Ange’s hand.

“Wait a mont, wait a mont. Little Ghost, did… did you get bigger?” Negris asked, perplexed.

The change wasn’t visible from its size, as what appeared before them was rely a projection. Its true self remained within the Holy Heavenly Kingdom Core. Yet Negris could sense the Little Ghost had grown stronger. Was it perhaps a misconception?

The Little Ghost popped out again, its tiny head nodding repeatedly.

Negris sighed in resignation. These peculiar beings could only communicate with Ange or the Little Angel. Left with no alternative, Negris turned to Ange.

Ange scratched his head and said, “Crystal stones — amplify.”

“Crystal stones can amplify the Little Ghost’s strength? Is it permanent or temporary? Could this affect it in any way?” Negris asked quickly.

Ange shook his head, “Temporary.”

Negris couldn’t help feeling a bit regretful. “Temporary” implied the Source of Crystal had no permanent effect on the Little Ghost. If it could provide permanent enhancent, that would’ve been ideal.

However, this might not entirely be a bad thing. If the Source of Crystal could infect or modify the Little Ghost, it would also an it could harm it. Considering the Little Ghost was linked to the God of Light, whether it could be empowered didn’t matter so much — maintaining its current state was best.

“How should we handle it? It seems frightened,” Negris asked, looking at the curled-up Source of Crystal.

After a mont of thought, Ange opened a space rift and gestured outwards, “Go.”

The Source of Crystal, curled into a ball, hesitated, glancing at the space rift and then at Ange, clearly unsure what to do.

The two spaces were now connected, and a pile of crystal stones lay outside. All it needed was a single thought to leap into the external crystals; yet, after the beating it had taken, it seed too scared to move.

Ange tilted his head again and repeated the gesture. “Go.”

The Source of Crystal tentatively asked, “Seriously… you’re letting go? Why?”

“Huh, you can talk?!” Negris exclaid in surprise.

Ange scratched his head and replied, “No use.”

If the Source of Crystal had blood running through it, it might’ve erupted by now: “No use? I’m ‘no use’? I can crystallize the surface of any creature to enhance its defensive power, induce light resonance to strengthen…”

Ange flicked his fingers, sending the Source of Crystal flying out before closing the space rift. He calmly remarked, “I can do that too.”

Surface crystallization was sothing Ange could achieve as well. As for light resonance, it wasn’t an ability exclusive to the Source of Crystal but rather an innate property of crystals themselves. Whether it possessed consciousness was irrelevant.

In all seriousness, the silver lake had the Source of Water, and the crystal stone lake had the Source of Crystal. This conscious speck was rely a derivative of the Source of Crystal — insignificant and unnecessary.

With an entire farm’s worth of crystal stones harvested, Durken eagerly volunteered to stay and study them.

The rest had barely left the space when Elarafate flew over furtively, saying, “You all need to run. Don’t return to Undead City. Elarafate sent to warn you — the Lord of the North Corona has summoned all forces, including us Crystal Dragons, to besiege Undead City and capture you.”

After delivering this news, Lilianna hesitated and added, “Elarafate also said, if you have any other ideas, we Crystal Dragons are innocent, so please show rcy. What does that an? What other ideas?”

Negris retorted irritably, “Trying to play both sides, huh, that damned lizard.”
