Chapter 1460: Chapter 1021: No Wonder You’re So Unskilled, Even the Goddess Can’t Rember Your Na

A shimring figure materialized—a majestic, ornate, uniquely styled, and incredibly dashing Heavy Armor Swordsman.

He pointed one hand at the Goddess of Dawn and drew his Longsword with the other, shouting vehently, “Sin God, retreat!”

But just as the sword tip was about to point at the Goddess of Dawn, he hesitated for a mont, seeming to have thought of sothing. Adjusting the sword slightly, he then aid it at Anthony: “Mortal, retreat!”

Anthony pointed at his own nose, just about to say: What does this have to do with …?

But the Heavy Armor Swordsman didn’t give him a chance to speak, thrusting his Longsword forward.

Originally, there were hundreds of ters of distance between them, but with just a simple thrust, Anthony felt a beam of sword energy expand rapidly. In the blink of an eye, the tip of the sword was right in front of him, as if the Heavy Armor Swordsman was being dragged forward by that beam of sword light.

“Help! Lord, save—” Anthony’s heart clenched, and just as he was about to cry for help, a flicker of shadow appeared before him. The Goddess of Dawn had stepped in to shield him.

“This… this kid is quite genuine,” Anthony was sowhat dumbfounded. They were barely acquainted, yet the Goddess of Dawn was shielding him from the blade? So brave?

If the one being struck was the Goddess of Dawn, Anthony definitely wouldn’t have shielded her. From the mont the Heavy Armor Swordsman had appeared, Anthony had intended to step aside. He hadn’t expected the opponent to suddenly target him instead.

If he were cut down, he’d only lose a body, but if the Goddess of Dawn were cut down… well, then he’d get to hog all the Dawn Origin for himself…

Of course, Anthony wasn’t that kind of person. As the neutral, balance-keeping, justice-oriented Pope of Light, he imdiately leaned forward to observe the situation.

He saw the Heavy Armor Swordsman’s sword tip stop at the spot between the Goddess of Dawn’s eyebrows, blocked firmly by a translucent, prismatic crystal projection surrounding her forehead. The Longsword couldn’t pierce through.

Prismatic? Power of Dawn?

As Anthony leaned out, the Heavy Armor Swordsman withdrew his sword and thrust again, this ti aiming straight at Anthony’s face.

The Heavy Armor Swordsman’s heavy, cumberso armor made him appear sluggish, but his movents were shockingly nimble and swift. Anthony only felt his vision blur; the sword light seed to close in on him.

The Goddess of Dawn shuffled sideways once again, positioning herself in front of Anthony. Though there was no sound or visible movent, the sword tip didn’t penetrate her, suggesting it had indeed been blocked.

Anthony quickly craned his head to take a look, and sure enough, the sword tip had stopped near the Goddess of Dawn’s nose. A translucent prismatic crystal layer—the sa defensive barrier—had manifested there. So this was the defense of the Goddess of Dawn?

The Heavy Armor Swordsman seed fully aware that he couldn’t breach the Goddess of Dawn’s defenses. Seeing Anthony poke his head out again, he changed his stance and thrust his sword toward him once more.

This ti, Anthony didn’t wait for the Goddess of Dawn to intervene; he shrank back hurriedly, shouting, “Why are you hacking at ? I’m not the Sin God!”

The Heavy Armor Swordsman shifted to the side, loudly declaring, “I can’t harm her, so I’ll deal with you first. Who are you, and why are you here?”

Shifting slightly, he spotted Anthony hiding behind the Goddess of Dawn and launched another strike.

Once again, the Goddess of Dawn shuffled sideways, intercepting the blow.

The Heavy Armor Swordsman and the Goddess of Dawn began circling Anthony, neither able to overco the other.

Taking the opportunity, Anthony asked, “Who is he?”

“The guardian of this place,” the Goddess of Dawn answered succinctly.

“Guardian? What kind of guardian? What’s his na?” Anthony continued to ask.

The Goddess of Dawn replied, “I don’t know.”

“Don’t know? That bad, huh? Not even worthy of you knowing his na? No wonder you said they couldn’t kill you, so they built a cage to trap you instead. Turns out they’re just too incompetent, so much so that you don’t even bother rembering their nas. La, so la… Forget it, I won’t ask his na anymore.” Anthony sighed dramatically, repeatedly emphasizing “la,” “not worthy,” and “beneath notice.”

The Heavy Armor Swordsman finally couldn’t hold back, angrily roaring, “Humph! It’s not that she’s worthy of knowing my na—it’s that I disdain her! A re Sin God has no right to know my na. Listen carefully, mortal! I am Samus, the Guardian of Infinity!”

The Goddess of Dawn snapped, “I’ve asked you hundreds of—”

Before she could finish, Anthony cut her off with an even louder voice, drowning out her words, “Guardian of Infinity? The guardian of that wide-open Boundless Space Hole? Is there even anything to guard in that place? No wonder you’re so la. Even the Goddess doesn’t bother rembering your na!”

Unfortunately, the Goddess of Dawn’s reaction snapped Samus out of his irritation. He quickly cald down, refusing to fall for Anthony’s provocation. He let out a scornful snort: “Only mortals who know nothing of the Boundless Space Hole would speak this way. The Void’s vastness is beyond your imagination! You’ve trespassed in the Endless Cage; now, die.”

Samus stepped backward and hurled his Longsword to the side.

The Longsword circled around to the back of the Goddess of Dawn, moving as if guided automatically. A consciousness emanating from the sword locked onto Anthony—it was no ordinary weapon; it was a Demon Spirit Long Sword.

As the Demon Spirit Long Sword prepared to attack, Samus readied himself as well. If the Goddess of Dawn turned to block the sword, she would expose the mortal, and he could kill Anthony with his bare hands. A mortal like him wouldn’t be able to withstand even an unard strike.

The Goddess of Dawn appeared genuinely flustered, wanting to turn around, but stalled as though the mortal behind her had handed her sothing.

The next mont, the sword aura flared intensely—simultaneously, another force erupted violently.

The sword aura was undoubtedly from the Demon Spirit Long Sword, but what was that other force? Perhaps it ca from that mortal… but could he really muster such power?

The Goddess of Dawn could block Samus’s sword because of the Wall of Dawn. Without it, Samus could crush the Sin God with a single hand. There’d be no need for an Endless Cage specially designed for her imprisonnt.

The mortal, however, didn’t have the Wall of Dawn. The Demon Spirit Long Sword would slice him to pieces. Samus understood his weapon well; without his Magic Armor, even he couldn’t match the sword in combat.

Lost in thought, Samus noticed sothing strange—the Goddess of Dawn’s rear showed no signs of activity. No screams, no blood splatter, no flying flesh, and not even the Demon Spirit Long Sword.

What was going on?

As Samus puzzled over the situation, the Goddess of Dawn suddenly moved, floating toward a platform ahead. Her movent revealed what lay behind her—no sign of Anthony, nor of the Demon Spirit Long Sword.

“What’s happened? Where did they go?” Samus was dumbfounded. Had they teleported away?

Impossible. Teleportation wasn’t viable here unless a powerful being capable of freezing space temporarily made it possible. Otherwise, the ever-shifting space would tear everything apart.

And yet, not only had that mortal vanished, but Samus’s sword was gone too. What was going on?

The Goddess of Dawn ignored Samus’s frantic questioning, flying straight toward the platform.

Samus, growing desperate, swung a fist toward her face, only to trigger the prismatic Crystal Barrier in response. The Goddess of Dawn didn’t blink, continuing to advance as though she were an indomitable Armored Airship, impervious to opposition, moving steadily toward her ultimate goal.

“This… this…” Samus struck a few more tis before giving up. He had guarded this place for countless years and knew perfectly well the sturdiness of the Wall of Dawn. He couldn’t break it with his Demon Spirit Long Sword, let alone bare fists.

Without the Endless Cage, he suddenly realized how powerless he was against the Wall of Dawn.

Fuming, Samus blocked the doorway on the platform, only to be unceremoniously shoved aside by the advancing Goddess of Dawn. The scene resembled soone trying to disembark from a public bus, only to be squeezed back in by passengers trying to board.
