Foreign Land Reclamation By a Vegetable-growing Skeleton Chapter 1381 - 1381 942 Arent You Afraid of Mushrooms
Chapter 1381: Chapter 942 Aren’t You Afraid of Mushrooms Growing on Your Face? Chapter 1381: Chapter 942 Aren’t You Afraid of Mushrooms Growing on Your Face? Did you slip? Damn it, get up!
Shah thought to himself, shaking his head trying to break free from the Monarch’s large hand. Unexpectedly, that hand gripped his face like a pair of pliers, he could shake his body wildly, but his face could not move at all.
Shah involuntarily mobilized his Divine Power, but as soon as the Divine Power moved, the large hand on his face imdiately tightened, and simultaneously, the Monarch’s voice sounded: “Put away that bit of Divine Power, or I’ll crush your skull.”
Shah felt his skull make a dislocated sound, he hurriedly retracted his Divine Power, and at the sa ti, his heart sank like falling into an ice cave. Had the opponent noticed his Divine Power?
Two Golden Skeletons obediently knelt down, not daring to move at all. If they had intelligence, they probably would be cursing Shah trendously right now, for making them offend an Undead King?
Don’t be fooled by the soul of the King now having only the strength of a Mourning Soul, but that kind of prestige is not just at the Mourning level, scared to the point that the two Golden Skeletons were nearly falling apart.
If they had a Soul Contact with Shah, they could share this oppression through the Soul Network, so they wouldn’t even be unable to stand up. However, they are bound by a certain contract with Shah, forming a summoning contract relationship. Under such rank suppression, the contract is nothing, the soul is what matters.
Although so have been with contracted skeletons for many years, and can withstand this kind of pressure relying on mutual affection, Shah is clearly not one of them. These Golden Skeletons are likely tools used by him to disguise his identity, and they knelt imdiately upon encountering the Monarch.
The Monarch slapped the foreheads of the two skeletons with his other hand, forcibly embedding two Soul Brands into their souls, establishing a Soul Contact. The pressure on the Golden Skeletons greatly reduced, and they obediently stood up.
“Catch him,” ordered the Monarch. The two Golden Skeletons imdiately ran over, restraining Shah from the left and the right.
Shah knew he had hit a tough spot, not only seeing through his disguise at a glance, but subduing him with one hand. The Golden Skeletons he had contracted after great difficulty, unexpectedly without hesitation, submitted under the opponent’s oppression, as if they were specifically sent as offerings.
The Monarch let go of the hand gripping his face, and Shah urgently asked, “Who are you?”
“No no, should I be the one asking you that, who are you?” countered the Monarch.
Shah hesitated and looked around.
Negris imdiately said viciously: “Looking at him, I doubt we can get anything out of him. Just kill him and search his soul.”
“No no no, I’ll speak, I’ll speak. My na is Shah Grumman, I am a Death Summoner and also a Light Demigod,” Shah hurriedly said.
The Monarch and Negris exchanged glances: “Light Demigod? Death Summoner? How did you combine these two professions?”
Shah said bitterly, “I had no choice, the Royal Magicians are suppressing religious forces, the God of Light has been killed and fallen, and my kind of demigod has beco a rat crossing the street, I had to disguise myself, and Death Summoner is the profession with the lowest barrier for disguising. I simply contracted a few Undead creatures. These Golden Skeletons were previously captured by us, perfectly serving as disguise creatures.”
“Light should refer to the God of Light here, and there’s a Church of Light too, right? No wonder you have Holy Essence Liquid, but this concentration is too low anyway. The leftover water used for facial masks in Goddess of Beauty City is more concentrated than this,” Negris said disdainfully.
The Monarch casually took off Shah’s scarecrow hat, looked at it for a mont before handing it to Ange, then asked, “What’s the deal with this scarecrow hat? Where did it co from?”
“I bought it, bought it from a Druid. Being a Demigod, I possess Divine Consciousness. Wearing a scarecrow hat, ordinary people cannot see through my disguise, so I’m not afraid of those God Catchers with glasses. I didn’t expect you to see through , though. I suppose the mont you saw , you were already thinking about how to capture , sigh.” Shah sighed.
Negris asked in confusion, “Just a Demigod and others cannot see through your disguise? Are the people here that weak in spiritual power?”
“What do you an by ‘the people here’? Aren’t you from here? Are you from the Divine Light Association?” Shah asked, suddenly hopeful.
Seeing that he was once again mistaken for soone from the Divine Light Association, it seed that the people of this world were too timid to think radically. Negris could only nod, “You guessed correctly. Why can’t others see through your disguise despite you being just a Demigod?”
“Just a Demigod? You look down on Demigods, are you then a True God, sir? I don’t believe it. The Soul Construct is the specialty of the Divine Light Association. If you were a True God, you wouldn’t be sealed within a chanical Construct.” Shah argued sowhat defiantly.
Negris ‘placed both hands’ on his waist, wanting to prance but then rembered he had neither hands nor a tail, nor God Status. Claiming to be a True God would convince no one, so he shafully retreated.
Seizing the opportunity, Shah explained, “It’s not that others cannot see through, but those God Catchers can’t see through . They rely on glasses to detect traces of Divine Power. Their spiritual power is no match for a Demigod like . As long as I’m careful not to venture into places where strong beings gather, I usually won’t be exposed. Who would have expected you to hide in such a place.”
Shah felt incredibly unlucky, just visiting Chaotic Burial Mound to buy two corpses, and yet he stumbled upon a freak who could see through his disguise and subdue him with one hand—a probability more absurd than hatching a Giant Dragon from an egg bought in the market.
“How is the Church of Light doing now? Are you the only one left?” Negris asked.
Shah shook his head, “Others have gone to register, but I didn’t want to, so I ran away. I intended to buy so corpses as labor to excavate and restore the glory of Light in the cavern of a thousand pits, but I ended up in your hands, sigh.”
Shah sighed lodramatically, feeling the despair of a commander whose horse slips and falls, killing him just beyond the city gates.
“Just you?” Negris was skeptical. Although Shah emphasized he was a Demigod, Negris could see his true state once he removed his hat.
He was indeed a Demigod, but while so Demigods possess a Divine Body, Shah had Divine Consciousness, focused more on spiritual aspects.
For ordinary people, Divine Techniques of Divine Consciousness can be harder to deal with than brute strength of Divine Bodies. But for beings of Monarch status, Divine Consciousness is insignificant, his Divine Technique hardly having any effect, lacking even the struggle that a Divine Body could offer. How could such a frail Demigod even think about restoring Light’s glory?
“You wouldn’t be thinking of taking advantage of the God of Light’s downfall to steal faith and beco a fake God, or perhaps ignite the Faith Fire and beco a Master God, would you?” Negris speculated.
But the mont he finished, he saw Shah’s face turning red, clearly hit the nail on the head. With the fall of the God of Light and the collapsing faith network, it was a pri opportunity to rebuild the node. If Shah managed to establish it, stealing the entire faith network might be feasible.
“Ange…” Negris instantly thought of sothing and turned to speak to Ange, but then noticed that Ange had disappeared.
Not far away, a ‘Shah’ was squatting by a patch of dry moss, pouring a bottle of essence liquid, which was as dilute as the residue water of a facial mask, onto the moss, glowing with holy light.
Under the holy light, the moss vigorously sprouted nurous sacred mushrooms.
Seeing this ‘Shah’s’ squatting posture, Negris was not very surprised; rather, another fact shocked it more, “The extraction level of your essence liquid is too poor, isn’t it? You didn’t even deactivate the spores, aren’t you afraid of growing mushrooms on your face?”
