Whenever a Dark Elent Fluctuation neared, Ange would duck behind Tuxi Rikis.
The Dark Elent Fluctuation swept over Tuxi Rikis without any change occurring—there was no sudden burst of stronger fluctuations, nor was there any alarm triggered. It seed that Tuxi Rikis had indeed been recognized as one of their own.
Effective, Ange imdiately sped off with Tuxi Rikis for a distance, then dragged him to the rear side.
These scanners were arranged at the entrance. The range of their fluctuations overlapped. The route Ange moved along would be covered by the fluctuations from at least five scanners.
However, this wasn’t a problem for Ange. The fluctuations of the five scanners had gaps, and they didn’t cover all positions simultaneously. By seizing the gaps and pinpointing vacant spots before the fluctuations reached them, he only had to face the waves from one direction.
Thus, Ange could use Tuxi Rikis as a shield to block the scanning from five directions.
To accomplish this required precise calculations of the intervals between the waves’ arrivals, but while others needed to calculate, Ange could see them directly because he possessed the Ring of Balance.
With a series of swift moves, Ange spun Tuxi Rikis around until he was dizzy. Blocking all of the scanning fluctuations, Ange dashed through the zone of the Dark Elent Fluctuations, then imdiately pulled out the Monarch.
The Monarch instantly transford into smoke, enveloping everyone within it. The void beca empty once more, with no one noticing that a thin wisp of smoke had appeared.
Ange continued to pull out Anthony and Negriss among others, and, shepherded by the Monarch, avoided the light balls. They circled widely around the back of the Array.
The closer they got to the Array, the more imnse its scale beca apparent.
“It looks several tis larger than the Starburst Array,” Negriss said, shocked.
Anthony also exclaid in surprise, “Yeah, it’s much thicker than the Starburst Array. That one looks large but is just a thin layer, like a spread-out pancake. This one is not only bigger than the Starburst Array but also thicker—it’s like several layers stacked together. Could it house a few million people?”
Apart from the core ring, the Starburst Array consisted of circles, rings, lines, and other combinations that made it seem big but thin and insubstantial. Even so, the Starburst Array still packed in several hundred thousand people.
The Array they were now approaching lacked those parts that were all show and no substance. It looked like a sturdy stone fortress with lots of usable space.
Whether because of confidence in the entrance’s Dark Elent scanners or because of a lapse in vigilance due to a long absence of invasion, they encountered no more scans or sentries as they entered the Array.
Crossing an entrance equipped with an air mbrane Array, they were startled by a tumultuous chorus of shouts: “Adams! Forbidden God! Adams! Forbidden God! Adams!”
The voices sounded like millions chanting together, making the entire Array shudder. Ange could simultaneously feel a massive surge of Faith Elental Force converging and flowing in one direction—toward where the light ball seed to be located.
Shaken, Negriss muttered, “What’s happening?” while cautiously stretching out his neck and peeking ahead, startled by what he saw.
Every flat surface was covered with kneeling people, all fervently shouting the sa na. So were so overwheld that their eyes reddened with hot tears, and they were so excited that they fainted. This kind of collective fervor was a phenonon only seen in the most devout congregations of religious fervor.
Anthony was a bit baffled. What was going on here? Such a fervent atmosphere usually only arose when he was conducting a ceremony. Could it be that there was an archbishop here as powerful as he was?
Anthony didn’t believe it, so he craned his neck to look outside, quickly locating an anomaly.
Generally, the closer to the officiant, the more concentrated the power of faith would be. However, that place was too far from here, and pillars obstructed the view, making it impossible to see who was presiding.
As everyone prepared to circle around for a clearer view, the prayer eting seed to reach its conclusion. After a full-throated calling, emotions slowly stabilized, and the kneeling worshippers helped each other to their feet, their faces bearing a weary but satisfied expression, each heading towards their respective private compartnts.
The small compartnts stretched along both high walls like a beehive and extended down the road to the other end of the Array. The entire interior space was filled with identical small compartnts, each connected by balconies, corridors, and staircases, just like independent rooms.
“Nine hundred and seventy thousand,” Ange suddenly said.
“Huh? Nine hundred and seventy thousand what? People?” Negriss asked, realizing that Ange was using the Ring of Balance to asure sothing again.
Ange shook his head. “Rooms.”
“Oh, there are nine hundred and seventy thousand rooms in this section? What about the other areas? Can’t see them, right?” Negriss inquired.
Ange nodded. The Ring of Balance required visibility to asure; without sight, there was no way to asure. It didn’t matter whether it was the main body that saw, a clone that saw, or even the citizens sharing their vision with him. As long as it was “seen,” that was sufficient.
The visible area here had nine hundred and seventy thousand. Judging by the shape seen from the outside, there should be five similar areas. If each one had this many rooms, a rough estimate suggested that the interior of the Array had nearly five million rooms.
If each room housed one person, the Array would have nearly five million inhabitants. But what if so rooms housed more than one person?
After a rough calculation, Anthony couldn’t help but gape, “Millions of people, how can they all be sustained? What do they eat? Where is there space to grow food?”
Hearing about growing food, Ange couldn’t help but straighten up.
He didn’t even lift his behind before Negriss knew what he was planning and interrupted, “We don’t have ti to grow food, so don’t even think about it.”
Oh… Ange slumped back down in disappointnt.
The Monarch, however, said, “No, we need to figure this out. It seems they are employing a very new thod of balance, using the Dark Elent and Faith Elental Force to maintain the balance here without the need for external power input. You should know, without the input of external power, a closed environnt cannot maintain balance.”
Negriss looked puzzled, and Anthony reminded him, “Like the Resting Palace.” Originally, if Ange hadn’t continuously grown crops to maintain the fragile balance, it would have collapsed long ago.
Tuxi Rikis also said, “I know, in the end, the world returns to chaos.”
The Monarch gave him a puzzled look and said, “We need to figure out how they maintain balance in this closed environnt. This could be key to breaking through the Energy Level Great Desert.”
Negriss and Anthony actually did not want to complicate matters further. They did not understand the Energy Level Great Desert, and it seed irrelevant now. As soon as the Monarch had finished speaking, Ange excitedly pulled out the Death Scythe, ready to pierce through the entire Array if necessary to solve this mystery.
