Chapter 1260: Chapter 823 How Did Things Turn Out This Way Chapter 1260: Chapter 823 How Did Things Turn Out This Way Ange scratched his head in distress. He had been farming for over a thousand years, but this was the first ti a crop had accused him of being excessive. What was he supposed to do?

Flowering and fruiting are natural parts of a plant’s life, and Ange was rely speeding up the process. He was a bit dazed to suddenly be labeled as soone who forced plants to bloom.

“Why don’t we just forget about it and shear sowhere else?” Negris whispered.

There were plants everywhere in the forest, and it was an entirely new plane. All the seeds here were unfamiliar to Ange, so having one more or less shouldn’t really matter.

Ange said, “Its seed is strange.”

“Oh? Strange how? Alright then, I’ll go negotiate. If that doesn’t work, you go ahead and forcefully take it,” Negris said.

Ange felt it was unreliable. He reached into Dinsional Space to rummage around but ca up empty-handed because the silver coin was no longer there.

The Temple of Doomsday really needed a businessman like the silver coin and his team of professionals. Otherwise, with others concealing or misreporting figures, you wouldn’t notice if a few million tons of gold were reduced by an order of magnitude, leaving only a few hundred tons.

Without the silver coin, Ange had no choice but to count on Negris, watching and ready to rescue at any mont.

Facing the anger of the Petrified Tree Man, Negris said, “But isn’t flowering and fruiting part of nature? Are you not even following nature now? Just now you said outside, ‘This is a part of nature, as well as its own choice.’ How co you aren’t ntioning nature now?”

“Flowering is part of nature, but being forced isn’t, and that’s unethical,” the Tree Herder said gruffly.

The Tree Herder and the War Tree Man, who knew Negris from before, could still discuss things calmly. But the half-petrified Tree Man was not so composed, angrily saying:

“You’re still reasoning with it? What’s the point in talking to a lizard? You have no idea how excessive its companion is. It plucked my buds, peeled back the petals, and dusted the immature pollen onto the pistil. That’s way over the line. Catch it and bury it in the soil to rot and serve as fertilizer for flowers. I’m furious!”

Everyone beca embarrassed, even Negris, who would bristle at the re ntion of a lizard, was too embarrassed to get angry. The tree’s accusation was indeed too shaful and excessive. But after all, it was a tree.

Negris simply skipped over that part and asked, “Alright, let’s not talk about that. We need your seeds. What conditions do you need to agree to an exchange?”

“What? You want seeds too? I’ll kill you!” The Petrified Tree Man was so angry it almost jumped up, only to be quickly restrained by both the War Tree n and the Tree Herder.

“Let’s go, let’s not talk about seeds anymore. Seeing as you’re of Bone Dragon Bloodline, we’ll overlook the offense done to it. Just go, or we won’t be able to hold it back,” said the Tree Herder, now sowhat angry himself.

Negris reluctantly said, “You better hold it back, or it’s going to be a serious problem. My companion said its seeds are very special and that we need them. His words are like divine oracles where we co from. Just tell us what you’re willing to exchange. Would the God of Life’s blessing suffice?”

As Negris spoke, he gestured to the Little Sapling behind him.

“You still dare to speak? Even if you are an Elf of the Void Tree, you cannot insult . Ah, beat him, beat him up!” The Petrified Tree Man flailed its branches in rage, though the Tree Herder intercepted all the blows.

“You mustn’t speak anymore,” the Tree Herder said, although less angrily now, as it seed to realize Negris was genuinely looking to exchange seeds, not to insult them.

Negris continued, “It’s just so seeds. What can’t be exchanged? Even Trent isn’t as finicky as you are.”

The War Giant Tree shook its head: “No, the petrification has drained too much of its Life Force. Reproduction will only hasten its demise, and we won’t exchange anything for the life of a companion.”

“Isn’t that easy to handle? Rember what I said before? We have a way to reverse its petrification. What if we reverse it first and then exchange for its seeds?” Negris proposed.

This was now the second ti Negris had ntioned this. Could this Bone Dragon Bloodline truly reverse petrification? War Tree n and Tree Herder could not decide and hesitantly looked at the Petrified Tree Man.

“Why are you looking at ? You can’t believe what it’s saying, right? Only the God of Tree can reverse petrification, how could you believe a lizard’s words? This is infuriating,” the Petrified Tree Man said in annoyance.

The War Tree Man spread his hands, indicating their disbelief. But who knows if the Petrified Tree Man would consider a petrified tree as a dead tree to be cured? Seeing as it didn’t believe, there was no choice but to refuse.

“Alright then, what about other things, like so potent fertilizer? God-Level Grafting Wood? …The roots of a God of Tree?”

Negris negotiated item by item, his counterpart kept refusing, but although they were still refusing, the rhythm was forcibly dragged onto ‘what to trade with,’ completely forgetting that they had just complained ‘forced blooming is too much.’

Even the Petrified Tree Man forgot to struggle, thinking only ‘this damn lizard has so many good things.’

It wasn’t until the ‘roots of the God of Tree’ were ntioned that the Tree People collectively froze and asked, “Do you know where the roots of the God of Tree are?”

Negris originally didn’t want to trade any part of the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms, because it was too rare, but these Tree People were impervious to persuasion, so eventually, he brought out the God of Tree as a bargaining chip.

“Yes, we have the roots of the God of Tree, can we trade with that?” Negris asked.

The War Tree Man and the Tree Herder looked at each other.

The Petrified Tree Man couldn’t help hesitating but quickly ca to his senses: “Wait, wasn’t that not the issue? They insulted , they forced to bloom, how did it turn into trading my seeds for the roots of the God of Tree now?”

Negris imdiately interrupted, not giving them ti to think: “So, do you trade or not?”

“…No, I gain nothing from it.” The heart of the Petrified Tree Man underwent a subtle change unknowingly.

“How about the core of the God of Tree, do you trade that?”

“No… no trade.”

“What about this?” Negris took out a leaf of vibrant green.

“I… I don’t trade…” The heart of the Petrified Tree Man wavered, and even the tone of its voice involuntarily stumbled.

“And what about this?” Negris had Ange produce a fragnt of the Ancient Godlight: “We can transplant you into the scope of the Ancient Godlight.”

“Pfft—I… I… I…” The Petrified Tree Man finally broke down, unable to utter a word of refusal, thinking to itself: Bloom might be sowhat acceptable…

Both the War Tree Man and the Tree Herder looked at the fragnt of the Ancient Godlight with gleaming eyes: “Is… is this the Ancient Godlight? Not complete, but clearly has the spectrum of the Ancient Godlight. Can you trade it with us? What do you need to trade for it?”

Negris shook his head: “Dream on, getting to bask in it is already generous, you can’t afford this.”

“How do you have a fragnt of the Ancient Godlight? You must have co for the Ancient Black Stone. We’ll trade the Ancient Black Stone for the fragnt, how about that? If the Stone is unwilling, we’ll trade using the Ancient Black Stone, alright?” said the Tree Herder.

Negris rejected without hesitation: “The Ancient Black Stone isn’t yours, don’t trade with what doesn’t belong to you. We’ve already taken over this Plane, from the Doomsday God Teachings to the ordinary citizens, they are all our people now, everything in this Plane belongs to us.”

The Plane was only so big, now that they knew about the Ancient Black Stone, why bother trading with them? Just turn things upside down and the Black Stone could be turned out.

The Tree Herder regretfully said: “How about using my seeds to trade? Can I also bask in the Godlight?”

“You want to bask in the Godlight? Well, then you’d have to plant yourself in our territory. Are you willing to leave this place?” Negris was slightly surprised, this was an unexpected avenue.

“Willing, very willing, the Ancient Godlight! The climate here has changed too much; if it weren’t for the impossibility of leaving, we all would want to leave this place. Can I go in to see the environnt?” The Tree Herder said excitedly.

The conversation had taken quite an unusual turn, and Ange was a bit confused. Weren’t they discussing trading the Petrified Tree Man’s seeds? How did it evolve into giving away a Void Tree Herder for free?

Ange stuffed the Tree Herder in and then pulled it back out after a while. The Tree Herder excitedly said to the War Tree Man: “It’s a barren land, perfect for . I want to go there and transform it. I’ve seen Trent’s child; it told that Trent is indeed with them.”

“Ah? Then I also want to bask in the Godlight, can you transplant in as well? I’ll trade my seeds for it,” the War Tree Man hurriedly said.

Picking up another Void War Tree for free, what’s not to like? Ange stuffed them in, and while he was at it, he put the fragnt of light back in too.

The Petrified Tree Man didn’t know what to say anymore. Wasn’t it at first about them being forced to bloom? How had things turned out this way? And now its comrades had been enticed away instead?
