Xu Ke hadn't expected Yan Xuehai's hatred for his master to evolve to such an unreasonable extent. He could understand refusing to hand over the key to the Dragon Vein's location. Xu Ke figured that if the other party set conditions or demanded his master pay a certain price, it would be acceptable from their standpoint. But now, their primary reason for not handing over the key was simply fear of his master becoming stronger...
Incredible, Xu Ke thought.
"So, since they've had contact with Demonic Qi, could Wong Ting's fortuitous encounter be related to it?" At this mont, Xu Ke suddenly rembered sothing. Wong Ting was originally of average talent, but after going abroad, he had broken through to Innate Great Perfection with shocking speed, stunning the world. No one had ever scrutinized this matter before. However, after hearing Mister Mu's speculation, Xu Ke began to have his doubts.
"Maybe, maybe not." Mister Mu didn't confirm Xu Ke's guess, continuing, "Therefore, you must be careful. Wong Ting doesn't just want to kill you because of Qi Fu, it's also very likely because you control the Dragon Essence!"
Xu Ke rubbed his nose. "Alright then..."
Having said her piece, Mister Mu was decisive. She didn't try to keep them any longer. "Go back and cleanse the Demonic Qi from Qi Fu's body. Leaving it there is a hidden danger. Although she will beco a completely ordinary person after the Demonic Qi is gone, I believe you can protect her well."
"Okay," Xu Ke nodded. He wasn't disappointed that Wong Qifu would beco an ordinary person after losing all her Demonic Qi. What man would want his woman to bear so many dangers, anyway?
It was Wong Qifu who felt a bit of regret. "Is it too late for to start practicing martial arts now?"
Mister Mu teased, "What? You don't trust your little fiancé to protect you? Now that you've found a good match, you should just snuggle into his embrace. Why bother putting yourself through such hardship?"
Wong Qifu felt a flicker of embarrassnt from the teasing, but her face showed none of it. She simply offered a slight smile in response before shaking her head. "It's not that I don't trust him, but it's always good to have your own strength."
To her, loving Xu Ke didn't an she had to accept his protection. Being accustod to independence, she had never been the type to enjoy being protected. Of course, she didn't like the idea of protecting him, either. The ideal situation was for both of them to possess power. Protecting each other was the best choice.
Seeing Wong Qifu's unfazed reaction to her teasing, Mister Mu sighed inwardly. She's not that little girl anymore. She turned to Xu Ke. "After you cleanse the Demonic Qi from your cute little bride, you should teach her so martial arts, Great Divine Doctor."
"Yes, Mister Mu." Amused by the phrase "your cute little bride," Xu Ke chuckled gleefully and nodded.
Wong Qifu looked at Xu Ke's jaunty expression and was left a little speechless.
"You two head back for now. Co over again tomorrow; I have a pile of things to give you," Mister Mu said to Xu Ke.
"Okay!"
「...」
Afterward, the two left Qingxin Pavilion and hurried back to the hotel. Xu Ke had originally wanted to stroll through the streets and enjoy the scenery with Wong Qifu, but knowing now that ti was tight and the mission was important, he was no longer in the mood for sightseeing. After returning to the hotel, they ate dinner first, then went back to their room.
"What's written on it?" Wong Qifu gestured for Xu Ke to take out the note Mister Mu had given him.
"Let see." Xu Ke took it out and unfolded it. When he saw what was written inside, he froze.
"Why aren't you saying anything?" Wong Qifu asked, confused by his stunned silence.
"Uh..." Xu Ke's mouth hung open. A subtle expression flickered across his face, as if he wanted to laugh but was too embarrassed. He failed, and a laugh escaped him. He quickly rubbed his nose and cleared his throat. "AHEM. Let ... let make it clear, okay? I haven't touched this note. I didn't switch it out, and besides, this isn't my handwriting. You have to believe ."
"What about your handwriting? What's gotten into you?" Wong Qifu was completely baffled. Her large eyes were filled with confusion, her pretty face a mask of disbelief. Xu Ke was acting as if he were possessed. And beneath his strange behavior, she could sense a mix of longing, anticipation, nervousness... and excitent?
"See for yourself." Xu Ke pursed his lips, suppressing a grin. He coughed twice more and handed the note to her.
Wong Qifu shot him a questioning look as she took the note. The mont she read its contents, her eyes widened. A blush like the evening sunset crept up her fair, milky neck, spreading until her entire face was flushed. In an instant, her exquisite cheeks went from snow-white to crimson, adding an indescribable layer of charm and allure.
"This... this... this..." For the first ti, Wong Qifu lost her composure, pointing at the note and stamring, unable to form a complete sentence. Now she understood why Xu Ke had been trying to hold back his laughter, why he'd looked like he wanted to laugh but dared not. Now she understood why he had been so quick to profess his innocence and insist he hadn't swapped the note! And now she understood the excitent and anticipation in his eyes!
The note boldly stated:
*Dual cultivation intercourse; transfer Dragon Essence to guide the Demonic Qi to dissipate...*
*During this process, the following positions must be used...*
It even included pictures! Any normal adult would know exactly what this ant...
"It's not my fault!" Xu Ke insisted innocently.
SMACK! SMACK! SMACK!
Wong Qifu, her face burning, slapped him a few tis. A rare panic appeared on her face as she snapped, "Did you and Mister Mu conspire to trick ?"
"Don't be ridiculous. I only just t Mister Mu. How could we have conspired together?" Xu Ke argued, putting on the air of soone who had been wrongly accused. But his goofy grin completely undermined any sense of injustice.
Wong Qifu knew he was right. They couldn't possibly have conspired together. But she was genuinely panicking. Her slender fingers unconsciously crumpled the note into a wrinkled ball. After pacing back and forth a few tis, she asked with a tornted expression, "So, what do we do now? I..."
Seeing her worried and distressed expression, Xu Ke found this rare, adorable side of her completely endearing. He grinned and sidled closer, his hand wrapping around her slim waist. "Then how about we go back to Tianhai and... prepare?" he suggested. "Mister Mu is probably not in a hurry!"
As he spoke, his hand began to knead the soft flesh of her waist, a fire igniting in his heart.
Wong Qifu didn't push him away this ti, only glaring at him. Finally, biting her red lip, she said hesitantly, "No. Mister Mu has things to tell us tomorrow. She might require to have the Demonic Qi cleansed from my body first..." She truly wasn't ntally prepared. But she was also afraid of holding up important matters.
"Then what should we do?" Xu Ke asked, feigning ignorance. Hearing her words, he knew she had already made up her mind, and his heart blood with joy. She's worried about business, while my mind is full of... other things. That doesn't seem right. But then again, n... Any man who has been in a relationship knows that at a ti like this, a man's brain is dominated almost entirely by his reproductive instincts. Feeling overjoyed is only natural! If a man could hold a peerless beauty like her, on the verge of *this*, and remain as cool as a cucumber, he would be a man for the history books, like the great Leu Xiahui...
Wong Qifu's face was flushed. She gave Xu Ke an annoyed glare. "What else can we do? Move!" With that, she pushed him aside and strode toward the bathroom.
"So we're really going back to Tianhai, then?" Xu Ke was stunned for a mont, and his heart sank. Oh, crap. Don't tell she really can't go through with it. Xu Ke was, after all, a complete novice. He'd never actually been to a hotel with Siao Jia, so he had no idea what a girl would be thinking at a ti like this. He actually thought she was walking to the bathroom to give up...
Hearing his question, Wong Qifu felt both ashad and angry. She was angry that this blockhead was so clueless about won. She was ashad that she actually had to spell it out for him. She hesitated, looking indecisive. She wanted to speak but was too flustered to open her mouth. Finally, she just marched to the bathroom and pulled the door shut with a sharp slide. A mont later, a muffled, resentful voice ca from within.
"Don't I need to take a shower first?! And you, get yourself clean later!"
"Make sure you're spotless!"
Xu Ke stood frozen for a mont. Then, as if struck by lightning, countless scenes from his "educational films" flashed through his mind. Understanding finally dawned, and he was overco with ecstatic joy.
「...」
Steam filled the air, blanketing the mirror in a thin layer of fog.
Wong Qifu stepped out of the bathroom wearing a creamy white bathrobe. Though ant to be loose, it was forced to cling to her magnificent curves. Her exquisite, as-if-sculpted figure was breathtaking. Her damp hair was piled up under a shower cap, revealing a pair of snow-white, milk-fair collarbones that were achingly beautiful.
Because of her height, the already short robe seed even shorter, exposing the lower half of her calves. They were impossibly white, and a few stray water droplets clung to them, adding a seductive allure that could make a man's mouth go dry. In that mont, with the atmosphere thick with anticipation, Xu Ke beca a complete lecher, his eyes practically glued to her.
"Stop staring and go take your shower!" Wong Qifu gave him a "ferocious" shove, her usual calm composure completely gone. Even though her expression seed placid, the slight tremble in her voice and her unnatural movents betrayed her inner turmoil. Who wouldn't be nervous in a situation like this?
"Wait a second!" Xu Ke chuckled mischievously.
For so reason, even though he often smiled like that, Wong Qifu now felt that his every action was laced with ill intent.
"Wait for what?" Wong Qifu asked, sitting on the bed and picking up the hairdryer.
"Getting sothing!" Xu Ke walked to the door. Right on cue, the doorbell rang.
"Hello, room service," a crisp female voice called from the hallway.
"Okay!" Xu Ke imdiately opened the door, angling his body to block Wong Qifu's view of what was happening. When he closed the door, Wong Qifu saw what he was holding and froze. It was a bouquet of red roses, so vibrant they were almost bewitching. Under the warm, soft, yellow light of the room, they blood with an audacious and captivating beauty.
"For you," Xu Ke said as he walked over to her, half-kneeling to present the bouquet. "Let's make a good mory for our future!"
"Where did you learn to do this?" Wong Qifu glanced at him, accepted the flowers, and bit her lip as she looked them over before asking nonchalantly.
"I'm a natural," Xu Ke declared proudly.
"Oh, please," Wong Qifu said, not believing him for a second. He probably saw it sowhere online. "Go take your shower!" She gave him a push toward the bathroom.
Seeing that his romantic gesture seed to have fallen flat, a puzzled Xu Ke headed to the bathroom. But as soon as he was inside, Wong Qifu stared at the flowers in her hands, lost in thought. She didn't snap out of it until the sound of the rushing shower water filled the room, at which point a smile blood on her face, and she let out a soft laugh. For so reason, the sight of the flowers had erased the instinctive awkwardness and nervousness in her heart. It was as if the bouquet was an invisible hand, smoothing away all her anxieties.
"I'm done!" Xu Ke quickly erged from the bathroom, his body still dripping wet. He had only a towel wrapped around his waist, and his well-defined muscles were on full display under the light.
"Put so clothes on!" scolded Wong Qifu, who had finished drying her hair.
"But I'll just have to take them off again later..." Xu Ke started to complain, but the dangerous look in Wong Qifu's eyes made him shut his mouth and obediently dry himself off.
Once Xu Ke was dressed, Wong Qifu, who had changed into a silk nightgown, felt her heart begin to pound. She gently bit her lip again. She had lost count of how many tis she had done that tonight. It was a nervous habit she had kicked years ago, precisely because it betrayed her inner turmoil. But the circumstances tonight made it impossible for her to maintain her usual composure.
"Co here," Wong Qifu finally said softly, looking at Xu Ke.
"Alrighty!" Xu Ke wasn't nervous in the slightest, just filled with anticipation, excitent, and a fire in his chest.
Seeing him like this, Wong Qifu found it amusing. n...
"What about n?" Xu Ke asked as he sat down beside her, inhaling the lovely fragrance of her skin mixed with the floral scent of her body wash.
"Nothing," Wong Qifu said, shaking her head.
Gazing at her crystal-clear skin, Xu Ke reached out and gently touched her arm. "You're cool." Her skin was cool to the touch, almost icy. It was a stark contrast to his own body, which was heating up from head to toe. He desperately wanted to pull her into an embrace, just to cool himself down.
"Well, I'm not like you," Wong Qifu retorted, wrinkling her perfect nose. Tonight, she was less like a domineering corporate queen and more like a young girl.
"Regretting getting a room with two beds?" Xu Ke suddenly recalled, asking with a mischievous grin.
Wong Qifu didn't say a word, just shot him a glare.
"Heh," Xu Ke chuckled, pressing his advantage while feigning innocence. "What a sha. The other bed is going to go to waste."
"Just stop talking. If it's a waste, it's a waste!" Wong Qifu didn't want to hear another word.
Of course, neither of them realized that a couple in a room with two beds could, in fact, make use of both beds...
The atmosphere between them lapsed back into a strange, tense, yet enchanting silence. It was quiet, so quiet that they could almost hear each other's heartbeats.
In the next mont, they both turned and looked at each other at the sa ti. It was as if the atmosphere had suddenly hit its peak.
"So... shall we..."
"Turn off the lights first!"
CLICK.
In the pitch darkness, where you couldn't see your hand in front of your face, it felt as if one's senses were sealed off. In the haze, only the intoxicating sound of labored breathing remained.
The night was dark and hazy. The late-night dew was particularly heavy, dampening the countless stout tree trunks in the hotel's garden...
