"Do you know my master?" Xu Ke asked, slightly surprised.
"Of course I do." Mister Mu said, a strange look in her eyes. "The two of us... we have a good relationship."
Seeing this, Xu Ke's mind raced. There's definitely a story there, Master!
"Sit down. I believe you must have many questions." However, Mister Mu didn't seem inclined to discuss Ren Gu further, simply motioning for Xu Ke and Wong Qifu to take their seats.
Upon hearing this, they both nodded and sat down opposite her.
Overwheld with questions, Xu Ke sat down but didn't know where to begin.
"Let's start with the fortune-telling. You could say that was the beginning of everything," Mister Mu said, taking the initiative as if she had read Xu Ke's mind.
"Alright!" the couple replied in unison.
Mister Mu continued, her gaze fixed on Wong Qifu. "You went to the back mountain of the Ye Estate. By now, you should know that you have Demonic Qi in your body, correct?"
"I know," Wong Qifu nodded.
"If nothing is done, that Demonic Qi will likely erupt around your fiftieth birthday and consu you," Mister Mu said with a faint smile. "That's why your father entrusted with finding a solution—a way to save you."
"After Ren Gu accepted Xu Ke as his disciple, Xu Ke successfully mastered the Heaven-Defying Fate Change Technique. From that mont on, he, having beco the Wielder of Fate, was the only one who could save your life."
"This ans that when I told you to marry the person who could make the Dragon Instrunt containing Dragon Essence glow red, I was telling you to marry Xu Ke. From the very beginning, the 'person' I spoke of was always him."
As her words fell, Xu Ke and Wong Qifu were stunned. They had never imagined that their marriage was preordained.
Imdiately, Xu Ke grew anxious, desperate to ask how to resolve the Demonic Qi inside Wong Qifu. He knew it was an issue that even his second uncle found incredibly difficult to handle. Wong Qifu, with no cultivation whatsoever, had no hope of taming it herself. Though Xu Ke hadn't said a word these past few days, his worry over this hidden danger had never ceased.
But now, hearing what Mister Mu said, the great weight in his heart finally lifted. Thank goodness! She can be saved!
Xu Ke imdiately glanced at Wong Qifu. Their eyes t, and they both saw the imnse relief in each other's gaze.
Just as Xu Ke was about to ask for the thod, Mister Mu seed to read his mind and spoke again. "As for how you can resolve the backlash from the Demonic Qi in your body, I have a thod prepared long ago. Take this back with you, and you will understand."
After she finished speaking, Mister Mu placed a slip of paper in front of Xu Ke.
"Thank you, Mister Mu," Xu Ke said with genuine gratitude.
"There's no need for thanks. In fact, I may have to thank you in the future. Dealing with the Demonic Qi will require a great deal of effort from you," Mister Mu said with a slight smile.
Hearing this, Wong Qifu's fingers tightened involuntarily, and her expression grew heavy.
"No problem," Xu Ke said nonchalantly, patting his chest.
"Now, let explain the relationship between the Heaven-Defying Fate Change Technique, the Wielder of Fate, and Dragon Essence," Mister Mu said, smiling like an open encyclopedia. "Regarding the Heaven-Defying Fate Change Technique, your master must have told you that it's a dical art used to snatch life from the heavens. After performing it, there's a high probability of facing punishnt from the Oath of the dical Path, correct?"
"Correct," Xu Ke nodded.
Wong Qifu remained silent. She had a natural aversion to the so-called Heaven-Defying Fate Change Technique. That was why she had forbidden Xu Ke from using it ever again after he saved Ouyang Jie's life. It could very well cost him his own.
"But that's all nonsense," Mister Mu said, shaking her head with a chuckle. "The ancient texts about the Heaven-Defying Fate Change Technique, the physician records, the personal accounts... Xu Ke froze, his eyes wide with disbelief. Wong Qifu was equally dumbfounded. She knew the dical Saint was an unconventional master, but not *this* unconventional! Is this so kind of joke?
"But why would he make it all up?!" Xu Ke demanded. What was that master of mine thinking?
Mister Mu seed quite pleased with Xu Ke's astonished reaction. She laughed heartily, then spread her hands and said in a clear, elegant voice, "There was no other way. Ren Gu said you're too slippery, kid!"
"Slippery? What right does he have to say that about ?" Xu Ke imdiately grumbled.
"He said you hold a grudge. Just because he asked you to help perfect the Seven-Star Exquisite Needle technique when you were learning it..." Mister Mu recalled Ren Gu's indignant expression, and the smile on her lips never faded.
But Xu Ke interrupted Mister Mu for the first ti, fuming, "What does he an, I hold a grudge? Damn it, that old coot was just being lazy and wanted to pawn his work off on !"
"Is that any way to talk about your master?" Wong Qifu chided, tapping Xu Ke's arm lightly.
Xu Ke was still indignant. "A few words won't hurt. It's not like he can hear anyway."
Mister Mu wasn't angered by the interruption. She simply smiled and continued, "After the incident with the Seven-Star Exquisite Needle, you refused to learn any other obscure or difficult dical arts, afraid that Ren Gu would trick you again. So, he was worried you'd think he was trying to pull another fast one and refuse to learn the Heaven-Defying Fate Change Technique. That's why he fabricated records of other physicians having learned it—all to trick you into practicing it seriously."
Xu Ke was instantly speechless. That master of mine is absolutely ruthless!
Seeing Xu Ke at a loss for words, Mister Mu smiled. After a mont of thought, she asked, "The Heaven-Defying Fate Change Technique... when would you say you learned it?"
"About ten months after I went up the mountain," Xu Ke replied honestly.
"But in all that ti, you never perford the complete technique, not even once, did you?" Mister Mu asked.
Xu Ke nodded. The first ti he had perford the complete technique was to save Ki Qinyin's daughter. Afterward, he paid the price of losing three years of his cultivation.
"Truthfully, before you perford the full version, you had at most learned its first three needle techniques. You hadn't truly mastered the complete Heaven-Defying Fate Change Technique," Mister Mu began to explain. "Your master, myself, even Jiang Nian and his wife—we all know those three needle techniques. But none of us can perform the complete art."
"Because none of us are qualified to beco the Wielder of Fate!"
Beside him, Wong Qifu's expression changed. "My father... also learned this dical art?"
"He learned it, but he never mastered it," Mister Mu said with a gentle smile. "So, when you successfully perford the Heaven-Defying Fate Change Technique to save Ki Qinyin's daughter, Ren Gu was both pained by the cost to you and utterly amazed."
"We had finally found the key to solving the problem of the Demonic Qi."
*I've seen so readers complaining that the updates are too slow. Personally, I wish I could write full-ti and increase the update speed, but I really can't.*
*I'm resuming updates simply to try and write a rough ending for this book, which has been on hiatus since last year, within a month or two. It's not for money or any other reason.*
