Xu Ke picked up the phone.
A familiar voice ca from the other end. "Xu Ke, good evening."
It was sowhat frivolous.
Xu Ke's eyes narrowed slightly. "Ye Chong, what do you want calling so late?"
"I have sothing I want to discuss with you in person," Ye Chong said, getting right to the point.
Xu Ke curtly refused, "I'm not available."
Ye Chong wasn't offended. "You haven't been busy with much besides the Martial Alliance competition, right? Is it that hard to et with ?"
Xu Ke said indifferently, "Speak directly. Don't beat around the bush."
"I do like how straightforward you are." Ye Chong chuckled. "It's simple. I want to discuss a business deal with you."
"Business?"
"Yes! When you were at the Golden K Bar, didn't you say you wanted to cooperate with ?"
Xu Ke shot back, "And...?"
I knew he wouldn't respond to that directly. Wang Yu's decision was truly foolish. Good thing I didn't listen to him! Ye Chong cursed inwardly.
Despite his inner thoughts, his tone remained pleasant. "Since that's the case, now is the best opportunity for cooperation. My goal is simple: I want Lin Zhongtian to do sothing for ."
Upon hearing this, the corners of Xu Ke's mouth curled up slightly. "If you want Elder Lin to do sothing, why co to ?"
"Elder Lin's status is prestigious. How could I possibly command him?" Although Lin Zhongtian overtly favors him, a relationship like that can't be flaunted. Xu Ke would never admit it!
"You don't need to argue with about whether you can command Lin Zhongtian. Everyone can see it." Ye Chong just laughed, then changed the topic. "And I can provide you with sothing you urgently need right now."
"I know you're about to fight Qian Jun, so I can provide you with intelligence on him."
"You might think that since the Ye Family's relationship with Wong Ting isn't as close as the Huang Family's, we couldn't possibly have intelligence on Qian Jun."
"But I can tell you, Grandpa Jiu fled Tianhai after he injured you and has now taken refuge with Wong Ting."
"So, it's not surprising that we have so information on Qian Jun. How about it? Are you tempted?"
As Ye Chong finished speaking, Xu Ke's eyes flashed.
How much of what he just said is true? he wondered. He couldn't judge at the mont, but undeniably, Ye Chong had said a lot that impacted him. Both Ye Dexian's current position and combat intelligence on Qian Jun were things Xu Ke desperately wanted to know. He knew Ye Chong's approach ant no good; he couldn't agree to cooperate. But if he didn't, would losing the intelligence on Qian Jun be too great a loss?
Xu Ke hesitated.
As he hesitated, a smug grin spread across Ye Chong's face. I knew it. Only by revealing this information could I sway him and set a trap.
But after nearly five seconds of silence, Xu Ke suddenly said, "You have thirty seconds."
He didn't take the bait.
Over the phone, the smug smile on Ye Chong's face instantly stiffened, and his expression darkened.
This Xu Ke is damn impenetrable! I specifically found sothing that would tempt him, just to make it impossible for him to refuse. The mont he showed any sign of wanting to cooperate, I could give the recording to Wang Yu, and then he'd be in deep trouble, guilty or not. And yet, he's still completely unmoved! What do I do now? Since I can't catch him out over the phone, I have to get him to et in person. Besides, 'You have thirty seconds' isn't an outright rejection, is it? Isn't this the leeway he's giving ?
Ye Chong suddenly narrowed his eyes, quickly taking a deep breath as the corners of his mouth curled up slightly. "In that case, let's et at Felice's tomorrow morning at ten o'clock."
After hearing this, Xu Ke hung up.
Giving him thirty seconds forced him to state the ti and place. Now, the choice of whether to go or not is entirely in my hands.
Xu Ke stroked the arm of his chair, the flickering streetlights casting shifting shadows across his face. "Wong Ting, Ye Dexian, Qian Jun..."
I can look down on Qian Jun strategically, but I can't underestimate him tactically. To avoid a disastrous failure in the Martial Alliance selections, I have to take this risk to obtain intelligence on him! But... I still need to find soone to help confirm if Ye Chong really intends to cooperate...
After hanging up on Xu Ke, Ye Chong's lips curled into a slight smile. "Dad, he should agree to et tomorrow."
Ye Chong turned and walked back into the living room, speaking to Ye Yunfeng, who was sitting on the sofa. Nearby, Ye Feng was impassively sending ssages on his computer.
Ye Chong shot a veiled glance at Ye Feng, desperately wanting to drive him away. Unfortunately, Father would never agree.
"Good. Have your people ready," Ye Yunfeng said, his own lips curling into a slight smile. "Be as convincing as you possibly can. I don't mind you playing the part of the Ye Family's traitor for a little while."
After saying this, Ye Yunfeng looked at Ye Chong.
I know he's joking, Ye Chong thought. But when he t Ye Yunfeng's gaze, he still felt a cold sweat break out on his back. He forced a laugh. "For the sake of the Ye Family, I have no choice but to play the traitor."
Ye Yunfeng chuckled. "Go on, then. Make up a believable reason. Don't give him any chance to find fault with it."
Ye Chong nodded. "Understood."
Then, Ye Yunfeng looked toward Ye Feng. "By the way, Xiao Feng, have you contacted Pan Jiani from the Pan Family? I ntioned her to you last ti."
As soon as he finished speaking, Ye Chong chid in, acting as if he and Ye Feng were the closest of brothers. "Am I going to have a sister-in-law soon? When are you going to bring her ho for your second brother to et?"
An awkward smile appeared on Ye Feng's face. "Dad, Second Brother, nothing's set in stone yet..."
"Hurry up and get in touch with her. Don't just work all the ti." Ye Yunfeng smiled. "Jiani is a good girl, and she's liked you for several years now. Don't be so picky, son. Your father wants to hold a grandchild."
"That's right!" Ye Chong eagerly agreed.
Ye Feng could only reply helplessly, "Alright, I'll try my best..."
After a bit more teasing, Ye Feng finally left the Ye residence.

But before he could make the call, a call from her phone ca through.

But the voice on the other end wasn't Qin Yu's. It was an unfamiliar man's voice. "Young Master Fong, good evening."
Hearing this voice, Ye Feng's smile froze. His expression changed as it dawned on him. "You... Xu Ke?!"
I've investigated Xu Ke; I've even heard his voice. Thinking about what my sister said yesterday and now hearing this voice... how could I not recognize him?ŸŸŸ
"It is. I'm honored to be recognized by Young Master Fong," Xu Ke said cheerfully.
Ye Feng's expression was a mixture of uncertainty and anger. Finally, he asked, "What do you want?"
