Qiao Mo nodded, her fingertips lightly brushing over his desk: "He’s been gone for about a week, right."

"Mm, yes, more than a week now."

Qiao Mo looked at the desktop, utterly clean without a speck of dust on it. Her fingertips slide over it without picking up any dirt, indicating either soone is cleaning it daily, or he never left the country at all.

Qiao Mo’s gaze swept across a coffee cup on the desk, half-filled with strong coffee. Though cold, it was enough to prove that this place wasn’t cleaned daily.

Otherwise, why was the table so clean, yet the used cup remained unwashed?

Zhuo Lin evidently noticed what Qiao Mo was observing and seed a bit nervous.

When Qiao Mo raised her gaze, she t his slightly flustered eyes.

She smiled at him gently, and Zhuo Lin imdiately forced a smile, more miserable than a crying face.

Qiao Mo didn’t ask further, speaking softly, "Then I’ll be going now."

She could sense that everyone seed to be hiding sothing from her, as if she was the only fool who knew nothing.

At the mont, however, all she needed was to know that he was safe, that he was all right, and that was enough.

At least this way, she could be at ease.

Qiao Mo gently touched her belly; now, all she cared about was the child inside her.

She wished for a peaceful, healthy delivery of the baby in her womb.

As for everything else, she didn’t want to think too much.

When Qiao Mo walked out of the company building, she breathed a sigh of relief, looked up at the clear blue sky, and rembered that rainy night not long after they first t, when she had co here to find him.

Now, in the blink of an eye, their child was about to be born.

Though she didn’t know what the future held for them, she still felt grateful to have this little life within her.

Knowing that he should be safe, Qiao Mo tried hard to relax.

However, after a week of heightened nerves, she felt sowhat exhausted.

Taking the opportunity to unwind, Qiao Mo took a cab to the nearby mall to buy so things their baby would need.

After all, there was still just over a month until the due date, and many things hadn’t been prepared yet.

Qiao Mo wandered alone through the infant products section, carefully picking items for a long ti.

Though she didn’t know if the baby was a boy or a girl, luckily many items were unisex.

After over two hours at the mall, she bought so bottles, diapers, baby clothes, and toys, feeling a bit weary and ready to go ho.

But just as she reached the first floor of the mall, two figures erged from a luxury store by the entrance.

One wore a flowing white dress, long hair fluttering, while the other had a tall, familiar stature.

A man and a woman, the woman holding the man’s arm, smiling particularly happily, her radiant smile dazzling on her pretty face, making several nearby n lose focus.

The man’s face also bore a faint smile; though still stern, he seed to be in a good mood.

Qiao Mo’s eyes fell on the man, and she froze on the spot.

Because the man in front of her...was none other than him.

It was Fu Nancheng, the husband she hadn’t seen in over a week and the father of her child.

Qiao Mo’s mind went blank for a mont, almost doubting if her eyes were deceiving her.

Because the woman beside him was none other than Qiao Yun, who had recently been in the hospital for surgery.
