"Hey, hey, hey... co on, be reasonable... this is my career, you have to support ."

He furrowed his brows, saying nothing.

Qiao Mo gently wrapped her arms around his neck, coaxing softly, "Fu Nancheng... just let go, okay? I’ll bring you back a gift."

"No way." Fu Nancheng pondered for a mont but still couldn’t let it go.

Unwilling to give up, Qiao Mo turned around and straddled his lap, wrapping her arms around his neck and giving him two playful kisses on the cheek. "Please let go, it’s been so long since I’ve gone out to have fun, consider it helping relax during my pregnancy."

His gaze deepened a bit.

"Fu Nancheng... you’re the best... the absolute best." Qiao Mo moved closer, her small face very near to his.

Fu Nancheng reached out and pinched her cheek, "Seems like you’ve gained a bit."

"Impossible!" Qiao Mo almost jumped off him, holding her cheeks with her hands.

Impossible... even though she had been eating a bit more lately than before... but the baby was only two months along, she couldn’t be gaining weight already!

"Really." He chuckled lightly, speaking with certainty.

Qiao Mo turned her head and started rummaging through his desk for a small mirror. Where is it... she rembered she had left a small mirror on the desk.

Qiao Mo didn’t realize it, but as she squird on his lap, she was tornting Fu Nancheng considerably.

Before long, he was unable to suppress his reaction to her.

anwhile, Qiao Mo, still oblivious, was side bending over to search the drawer. As she bent over slightly, her top slid up a bit, revealing her fair waist.

He furrowed his brows slightly, closed his eyes lightly, almost chanting a mantra to calm himself down.

Qiao Mo wiggled here and there for a while before opening a drawer to his left, where she saw a pencil that looked familiar lying quietly inside.

"Eh? Isn’t this my pencil... how did it get here?" Qiao Mo reached out and took the pencil, confirming it several tis. She rembered losing it one day when she was out after sketching a design draft.

Fu Nancheng inwardly thought ’oh no’ but kept a straight face and said seriously, "Yours?"

"Yeah, mine, I looked for it for ages that day." Qiao Mo looked at him suspiciously.

"Ahem... I found it on the ground while cleaning one day." Fu Nancheng cleared his throat, looking candid.

Yeah, right.

He really did just find it on the ground, why was he feeling guilty?

Thinking this, his previously wavering gaze beca firm again.

Qiao Mo scrutinized him doubtfully, "Really?"

"Of course it’s true, why would I lie to you."

Qiao Mo continued to scrutinize him seriously. Fu Nancheng’s expression remained unchanged as he let her examine him, thinking she couldn’t provide any evidence against him. As long as he stuck to his story, he didn’t believe she could do anything.

"Eh? Fu Nancheng! Your ears are red!" Qiao Mo’s eyes suddenly lit up, and she pointed at his ears, exclaiming.

"Impossible!" Fu Nancheng suddenly felt a bit flustered as well, imdiately removing Qiao Mo from his lap and turning towards the bathroom.

But Qiao Mo followed him like a shadow, chattering incessantly, "Your ears really are red, co on, confess, was it you who took the pencil? What else have you stolen from ?"

"Why would I steal your pencil!" Fu Nancheng’s face flushed with a hint of green, dammit!

What did this woman take him for? Steal? Seriously...
