Formless.

This was a move Ogami Sakura had pieced together after listening to Jaden's earlier words and summarizing them through her own experience.

Or rather-

It wasn't exactly a move.

It was closer to a state.

Because this was Ogami Sakura's personal understanding and reconstruction of the concept Jaden had ntioned before.

The mont she entered that state, Ogami Sakura charged straight at Jaden.

Jaden's gaze sharpened slightly when he saw her posture change.

He raised one finger.

And calmly pointed it at Ogami Sakura's forehead.

In the next instant-

Ogami Sakura's body twisted in a soft, almost sli-like motion. It blurred, slipped past the line of attack, and at the sa ti, her fist snapped toward Jaden's face.

Clap!

Her fist was knocked aside again.

But she used that brief mont of contact to imdiately drop her body, supporting herself with one hand as both legs clamped onto Jaden's.

The angle and force application were extrely precise.

Under normal circumstances, Jaden should have fallen imdiately.

However-

The mont Ogami Sakura applied force, she realized sothing was wrong.

Useless.

Completely useless.

Jaden's legs felt like iron rods. There was no sign of bending at all.

At that mont, Jaden shifted force into one leg.

Ogami Sakura reacted instantly, repeating the sa evasive motion as before. Her entire body swung upward, her torso whipping up like a flexible lash.

This movent not only avoided Jaden's counter, but also allowed her to clasp her hands behind her head.

Using the combined montum of her legs, waist, and shoulders, she swung down in a strike that was both a slash and a smash, sweeping straight toward Jaden's chin.

He didn't defend.

This hit should have landed.

Ogami Sakura saw that Jaden didn't block and instinctively believed she had succeeded.

But the mont her hands reached his chin-

They passed through.

Like striking an illusion.

Her hands cut through a phantom image of Jaden.

In that sa instant, Jaden reached out and caught her wrist.

Ogami Sakura reacted imdiately.

Her body softened again, retreating in that sli-like state, slipping back beyond Jaden's reach and preparing to counterattack.

But-

At that very mont, Jaden's finger tapped her forehead.

Then-

Pop!

"Koyoch!"

Jaden flicked her square on the forehead.

Ogami Sakura cried out reflexively, clutching her head with both hands as pain surged through her. Her Formless state shattered instantly.

Jaden let out a quiet sigh as he looked at her.

"That move just now was interesting," he said calmly. "It's a state where you integrate all the techniques you've learned, then select the most suitable one at the instant either of us attacks, and apply it imdiately."

Ogami Sakura nodded quickly.

"Yes! Master Jaden, I call it Formless!"

Jaden nodded in response.

"To be able to devise sothing like that, your talent is actually quite good."

He paused.

Then flicked her forehead again.

"But your concentration is terrible."

"Although I used so tricks to maximize the pain just now, if your combat state can be broken this easily, then in real combat, you'll always be at a disadvantage."

"Ah... I-I understand!"

Ogami Sakura had been calling him "Master" on her own initiative before, but now that Jaden was clearly instructing her, she straightened up and listened intently.

Seeing her like this, Jaden sighed softly.

"If you can maintain Formless throughout a full battle, then participating in the Kengan Annihilation Tournant won't be a big problem."

"However, the first issue is your lack of concentration."

"The second is the limited number of techniques you can choose from."

"And the third is the montary delay when selecting actions within Formless."

"All three are unacceptable."

After saying that, Jaden gestured toward her.

"Co. Hit ."

Ogami Sakura reacted imdiately.

She sprang up from her kneeling position, supported herself with her hands, flipped her body upside down, and launched an inverted sweep kick straight at Jaden's face.

She knew she couldn't possibly injure him.

That was exactly why she attacked without hesitation.

The kick landed.

But the sensation was strange.

Very strange.

In reality, that was exactly what happened.

Ogami Sakura saw that Jaden wasn't injured at all. There wasn't even the slightest redness. It was impossible to tell that he had just been kicked.

"Did you feel anything?" Jaden asked.

"I... felt sothing. But at the sa ti, it felt like nothing..."

Sothing, yet nothing.

Jaden nodded.

"Co. Keep going."

"Yes!"

The practice match was abandoned entirely.

Ogami Sakura struck Jaden again.

And again.

She attacked him twenty tis in total.

Only when Jaden asked her the sa question for the twentieth ti did she finally answer.

"I felt it... When I hit you just now, it felt like hitting cotton. Or maybe a feather. The way the force was dispersed felt very strange."

Jaden smiled faintly.

"What I was using is a technique called Deflection."

He continued calmly.

"And the three shortcomings I pointed out in your Formless-if you can resolve them effectively before the Kengan Annihilation Tournant begins, then I'll allow Miss Shion to let you represent Koyo Academy."

Ogami Sakura's eyes lit up.

She jumped to her feet.

"I-I understand! Then I'll be in your care during this ti, Master Jaden!"

"Mhm."

Jaden replied indifferently.

Below the arena, Shion shook her head helplessly.

"He's really reckless..."

But she didn't deny it.

Being acknowledged by Jaden alone was probably enough.

Recalling the Formless state Ogami Sakura had displayed earlier, Shion suddenly thought of soone.

The current fifth-generation Fang of tsudo.

Kanoh Agito.

He seed to possess a similar state.

"As expected... a monster's disciple is still a little monster."

She shrugged lightly.

"Well, if she wants to participate, then let her. It'll just be Koyo running interference for Totsuki."

Just as Toyo Electric had arranged external participants, prepared assassins, and planned moves against Koyo, Totsuki, and Kureishi Mitsuyo-

If one wanted to win the Kengan Annihilation Tournant, relying on only one side was never as effective as relying on two or even three.

Originally, Totsuki planned to fight alone.

But now-

Shion had decided.

This ti, Koyo would run interference for Totsuki.

After all-

If Ogami Sakura was the representative fighter, then Koyo couldn't help but get involved.

And even if Kiryu Setsuna hadn't been severely injured, he still wouldn't have been a match for Jaden.

With a monster like that around-

Totsuki's victory was practically guaranteed.

Compared to adding glory after the fact, helping now would better show Koyo's stance.

And its position.
