Second Hospital.
Evelyn Clayton rushed all the way to the pediatrics departnt and saw that Shane Sinclair had already arrived in front of the consultation room, speaking sternly to a middle-aged man in front of him.
"How’s Sharon?" Evelyn hurried over, her expression frantic and at a loss, "Is Sharon okay?"
Shane Sinclair supported her.
"Sharon is fine, she’s doing well." Shane said in a deep voice, calming Evelyn Clayton’s emotions, "Sharon is inside getting her wound bandaged. Although she injured the back of her head, it’s not serious."
Evelyn finally let out a breath she had been holding, almost collapsing onto a bench, not knowing what to say for quite a while.
Yara Reagan quickly asked, "What on earth happened? How did she get hurt?"
Iris Lockwood anxiously added: "Yeah, even if it’s not serious, this is no laughing matter!"
Shane didn’t speak and just cast a cold glance at the middle-aged man, "Principal Shaw, you explain."
It was then that Evelyn looked at the slightly balding middle-aged man and recognized him as the principal of Sharon’s elentary school.
In her earlier panic and rush, she hadn’t recognized him.
"What happened?" Evelyn stood up, staring fixedly at Principal Shaw, striving to control her emotions, "You are a private elentary school, the money the Sinclair Family invests in your school each year is practically enough to build ten such schools. How did my daughter end up in an accident with you?"
Principal Shaw looked extrely anxious, his voice trembling, "Well, today... today the horoom teacher took the kids to the indoor gym for PE class, and it seems there was so jostling among the kids, and Sharon... fell, fell down the steps..."
Evelyn only felt her vision going black, "The steps... how many steps?"
"On—one step! Not high! The horoom teacher found out imdiately and quickly brought her to the hospital." Principal Shaw spoke, growing more uneasy, "We’ve already suspended that horoom teacher, and if you wish to seek compensation, we will take full responsibility..."
Evelyn bit her lip, suppressing her intense frustration.
It indeed sounded like an accident... she had no grounds for bla.
After pondering for a mont, Evelyn asked in a low voice, "Then may I ask, Principal Shaw, has the surveillance in the indoor gym been checked since the incident?"
She paused, speaking firmly, "I don’t need compensation from you, nor do I need you to suspend the horoom teacher. If you claim it was an accident caused by kids jostling, I won’t pursue any responsibility."
"But if it wasn’t an accident, I absolutely won’t let it go easily."
Evelyn found it odd because Sharon had always been a kind child, never physical with others.
Even when provoked, she mostly avoided conflict.
Such incidents of injuries from pushing hadn’t happened when Sharon was in kindergarten, and kids of three or four years old are most prone to disputes and don’t know how to control their actions.
And Sharon was smart; she skipped preschool and went straight to first grade. Most of the first graders are older than her, with a certain sense of right and wrong and self-control. How could they easily get physical?
Evelyn couldn’t believe there wasn’t sothing fishy going on.
Just as she was thinking, Shane Sinclair spoke up.
His tone was cold, with a decisive edge, "Principal Shaw, if today’s incident wasn’t an accident, I will imdiately transfer Sharon to another school, and also inform the other students’ parents. You weigh your options wisely."
